Perhaps rather than a chant we should have a poem published in his honour in the programme one week. Here's my attempt:
An England international called Jack,
is one we all beleived would never come back,
He's come from Chelsea,
Been to Bournemouth and Coventry too,
Leets not forget Scunny and Watford,
and Burnely where he played in claret and blue.
But now he's come back,
we're all really happy,
When he played for Southampton,
they weren't very good,
Some people were nasty,
and others didn't play like they could.
But now he's come back,
we're all really happy,
He's a bigger signing than Keegan,
and is really good at football,
perhaps we'll get promoted,
with him playing in midfield.
Now he's come back,
we're all really happy
