  2. The looming global energy crisis has been known about for over 40 years among governments, scientists, engineers and energy providers. In the 1960's, this decade and the next were identified as the 'crunch time' when the then-known oil and gas reserves would begin to run out, resulting in price hikes and energy wars. Whilst new oil and gas resources are being found, the rate at which these are discovered is falling and they are becoming more difficult and expensive to extract. Successive governments, the media and the public have all buried their heads in the sand over this issue, ignoring expert advice, all because they didn't want to be the bearers of bad news or didn't want to hear it. Well, sorry folks, but the crunch is here now and the decision to go nuclear is 20 years too late. There is too little generating capacity in the grid and the situation will get worse. Expect the next 15-20 years to be a rough ride.
  3. Are you saying that devout Catholics can't be educated?
  4. They could always get one their old Hero-Villains back to man the ticket office for a week. Oh, I forgot. They haven't paid him for the last time...
  5. Excellent, insightful and considered post as usual SB.

  7. Bump this. I've been on one of Herbie's tours. Lovely bloke, absolute gent. Let's hope the club give him some recognition for all his efforts, including his charity work.
  8. That last line has to be the ultimate example of irony.
  9. I remember visiting friends in Salzburg at the time of the Music Festival in 1994. Turned a corner and there was Lou Reed just starting to play WOTWS. Bowled over. Sad loss.
  10. Clyne lacks end product?? Clearly didn't see him play today, close to MoM for me and he gets better and better with each game. Why does anyone think Welbeck is a shoe-in for a wide position? The guy's got pace and not much else. Awful first touch, poor accuracy in both shooting and passing, no vision or awareness. He was a liability in the last England game and it was significant that his only decent game was one in which Rickie was setting up chances for him. Lallana's a far better player on the left of the three in a 4-2-3-1 (or 4-3-3) than Heskey - sorry, Welbeck - will ever be. (Freudian slip there...)
  11. Switch Lallana's and Wanyama's scores and this is it. What a performance!
  12. It was a good substitution. Guly does offer decent protection for, and work well with, Luke Shaw. Luke was tired and making the odd wayward pass. Rodriguez was shattered, so the substitution with Guly seemed very sensible.
  13. Having said that I think there are a few in the side from the younger age group.
  14. Hmmm - our defenders look somewhat out of their depth.
  15. That woman presenter should seriously sue her hairdresser.
  16. Budgies. Aussie c**ts.
  17. Over how many years?
  18. Undoubtedly. Commentator was as well. Utterly ridiculous that they can show every manure attack with them apparently dominating possession and chances, only one Saints attack and then flag up the stats that show totally the opposite. At least they showed a decent analysis afterwards.
  19. It was Rooney. I mean, it's obvious, innit? You know... The headband...
  20. I concur with Ottery that one does look like Mr McCann. However, e-fits made SIX YEARS after the event? How on earth can peoples' memories be that accurate after so long? Calling Jack Frost - can he please add his experience to this discussion.

  22. I had him down as a one-footed pony on tonight's performance. Then he does that the first time he uses his other foot!
  23. Hutch said 'the riddle' - a boring, long-winded and inaccurate skate poster - was 'on the board' (presumably of PFC version 2013). Read his posts and you'll see why they're probably glad to be rid of him.
  24. If they were on show, they must have been inside out?
  25. I'm rather surprised you want to discuss how to wash your tackle on a public forum. You might like to buy a ball bag to help protect.
