  1. 6. Pretty much what I expect, not too bothered though, early days.
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19381098 Gutted. Rip Legend
  3. Buy San Izal, it's so rough & hard you'll never want to take a dump at home, you will hold until you get to work, not only saving you cash on bog roll & water bills (if you're metered), but you also get paid to do it.
  4. My own experience of dead pets, is within about 2 hours the kids have got over it & are already planning what they want next. My son's Syrian hammy died overnight, he went very quite for about 15 minutes, then perked up and went to school as normal (my son, not the deceased ). In the evening we had a funeral & lots of tears. About an hour later he came down stairs declaring he wanted a dog, we negotiated this down to 2 dwarfs hammys. So give nephew a couple of hours & he'll stop hating you.
  5. Absolutey. We are humane towards sick animals, surely logic would dictate we should be humane towards sick humans too. Sadly I have a friend who was diagnosed with MND about 8 years ago. I've watched him gradually degenerate from a football playing, loving father, to a burden (his word) on his family & society. For the last four years his life has been a constant round of wheelchair or bed bound pain, he's completely unable to breathe, wash, eat or urinate for himself, he can't even hold his head-up wihout a support on his chair, he can barely communicate, yet mentally he's as bright as he always was. It's devastaing to see someone being forced to go through this. His poor wife is at her wits end, hardly sleeping for more than 2 hours at a time, because hubby needs turning & his lungs cleared of congestion. It's nothing short of scandalous that he and others like him cannot ask someone to assist them to pass-on with dignity.
  6. I used to read The Beezer & swap with my mate who took The Beano. Would sometimes buy bundles of Whizzer & Chips & Krazy at jumble sales, the latter had a character called Pongo Snodgrass, I often think of the little snot-filled chap whenever I hear Robert Snodgrass mentioned. As I got older I moved onto Roy Of The Rovers, I would look forward to the issue just before the footy season started because it would include a wall-chart, where you could record all the results & scorers & plot your teams progess throughout the season. Oh, nearly forgot about the Commando war comic books, would buy 2 of these & ROTR with my paper-round money
  7. I don't think too much should be read into that, Bowie hasn't played live for years, I'm pretty sure he's even announced his retirement, Kate Bush is rarely seen outside of her house, I can't imagine for one moment she'd want to appear in front of millions.
  8. Yep, that and the small matter of attending his fathers' funeral.
  9. A kettle of boiling water will do just fine (best not to wear open sandals when pouring though).
  10. ....as are most of his comments on this thread.
  11. I bought him a beer in The Frog & Frigate once. It was a Friday night during the summer. He spent the entire night at the end of the bar with a couple of mates, and was surprisingly rather quiet, almost humble. At the time the UI was running a competition, the question was what was Benalis' nickname, so during a chat I asked him & bought him a beer. As for players I'd like to meet, got to be Alan Ball & Shilts.
  12. My sister isn't, but several of her team mates are.
  13. I particularly like the way that, due to the stick length, the players have to bend to play the ball. Plenty for the cameraman to concentrate on.
  14. That's what I heard too, would be interesting to know if it's true, on the subject of possible urban myths, I also heard that someone belly-flopped from the 10m board & died, spilling their innards across the pool surface, does anyone know if it actually happened. The things I remember about the old baths is the big windows (often with young boys exposing themselves to the customers in reception), the racks you put your clothes in before handing them to the attendant & I once jumped off the 10m board, it's the scariest thing I've ever done, I've got the utmost respect for the likes of Waterfield & Daley who do it for fun. I also had a hand in designing the new pool.
  15. Mary Decker was "nailed-on" in '84, do you remember what happened to her? Daley Thompson was "nailed-on" in '88, the pole broke & he was subsequently injured. Nothing in sport is "nailed-on", there are numerous factors that can mess things up.
  16. There's another one, good at what?

  18. Answer to you first question, is I don't think so, but well done for getting Kanchelskis, checked on wiki & he played once for us, I don't remember that at all. The answer to the second one is yes No, I counted the right Paul Jones, the photo's wrong.
  19. I've got 21: Benali Van Gobbel Le Saux Draper Marsden Dowie Keller Le Tiss Jones Deano Bessant Horne Ruddock Speedie Petrescu Camara Pahars Rosler Telfer Rideout Venison
  20. I'll be sorry to see him go. A good solid pro, who always gave 100%. Had a great first season with us & was always reliable when called upon. Having said that, he's not good enough for the Prem. Best of luck to him for the future, the ball-boys can relax a little now.
  21. Chimley & skelington
  22. A decimal being quoated as an integer, for example 3.27, being said as "three point twenty-seven" instead of "three point two seven".
  23. 44% yes 56% no:thumbup:
  24. Sad news, 61 is very young. Rip
  25. Mark Wright, he just oozed class & unflapability.
