  2. That was a fantastic programme, it never fails to move me when you hear these old fella recounting their stories. It's a travesty that its taken 70 years for them to be recognised.
  3. 09/10 for me, purely because I got to take my youngest son to see Saints in a Wembley final, the eldest had been to Cardiff & seen England at Wembley, the JPT gave me the opportunity to redress the balance. I have to say though it's been a great 3 years. Leaving home before a match, full of confidence that we would win, was much better than the previouse couple of years when I often thought we'd do well to get a draw.
  4. Well done Corky. For god's sake don't get injured.
  5. Me too, although I'm away, not at a wedding. Oh FFS this could be another one I'll miss as I'm doing the GSR (if my legs heals so I can do some training).
  6. It's a woman, she lives near me.
  7. I think the logic behind the kit is to make it easy for all the newbies next season to identify the players, as the numbers & names will be much clearer than on a stripey background. Personally though, I'm not really fussed. I'll think I'll cope with the change & not have a breakdown over it, I've just checked & the world is still turning & the sun rose this morning. I support Saints, it's still Saints players wearing the shirts, still playing at St Mary's, still got the same manager etc etc. I won't buy one though, as I have an issue with chubby middle aged blokes wearing sports clothes for leisure, but that's one for a different thread, the kids will probably get theirs.
  8. Try this: http://www.hampshiredentalhelpline.nhs.uk/
  9. It explains why they refused to pass to him though.
  10. Too much for me, I'll watch the flame for free in town, Arsenal when we play them next season, and as for Rangers, well I'll have to check out the Bury fixtures first.
  11. I'd rather the IOW was gridlocked than So'ton.
  12. If only they stayed like that. Congrats to both of you. My eldest is nearly 16, seems like yesterday & I can remember every detail about his birth, amazing stuff.
  13. It does, but I don't think they enforce this. When my lads were away (scout camp or something) I wanted to take my nieces, I phoned the TO to see if there would be a problem as the boy's tickets have their full name on them. I was told it wasn't a problem.
  14. Ok, furry-muff . It wasn't the banana metaphor, I happen to find in appropriate, I just found it a bit terse, could just be the nature of the written, rather than spoken, word.
  15. Ah ok, Thanks for that. I didn't realise he would be excluded from wearing a naval uniform at an army shin-dig. Alps, it was a simple question, it didn't need the aggressive posturing for an answer, but thanks for taking the time.
  16. This was something I asked at the jubilee celebrations, I wondered what the Chelsea Pensioners, who were proudly wearing their medals, actually thought about being presented to the Royal family, who had a lot more bling than they did. As a civilian, who knows his place amid all this military testosterone, and clearly has no real right to comment, I think I would feel a little cheated. However, as Moonraker said, the acid test, is whether the members of the military would feel devalued in any way, Clearly the answer is they do not. Now can anyone answer me this, why was Prince Andrew not wearing any uniform, and a far as I could see, no medals, at the Trooping of the Colour? After all, he has earned the right to do so.
  17. No probs. Been a STH for 10 years through thin & thinner. What I was inferring is that with the price of the tickets I want to get my moneys worth & not miss any matches. I've a long standing appointment on 31 Aug & 1st Sep, I just knew we'd get a home match for that weekend. The law of sod is certainly true.
  18. This guy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Rolfe
  19. Wow. I just love the noise they make, makes your spine tingle.
  20. Why? What he said.
  21. Bloody typical, the only date I can't make is at home to Man Utd, here's hoping Sky can do me a favour & move it to Sunday or Monday.
  22. Good luck to him. I think Championship is his level, so hopefully he'll do well at County & eventually get to where I believe he could be. It's a shame it didn't work out for him at Saints.
  23. On the positive side, I'd get more opportunities to read the paper.
  24. Made me laugh, so I've nicked it.
