  1. I think one or two posters are being deliberately obtuse to provoke a reaction.
  2. How am I getting on, absolute ballcocks! Started training at the start of April, one week in & I tore my calf muscle (didn't warm up ), it took 3 months until I could run again. Not a problem I thought, I've got a few months to get a reasonable distance under my belt, fully accepting I wouldn't be able to run it all. Then they scheduled the Spurs game in the afternoon of the big day. That's ok I thought, I can do the run in the morning & still be at SMS for 3pm. Then about 3 weeks ago it dawned on me, at best, I can currently run about 2 miles non-stop, I've got very little chance of completing 10 miles in a quick enough time to get recovered, changed, back from skateville, & climb the steps to row EE & still be able to get out of my seat at the end of the match. So after much consideration, I've transferred to the 5k on the previous day. I'm a lot more confident I'll get back for the Sunday afternoon match now & I reckon I'll be up to the distance. I am quite keen to keep it up though & will be in better shape to do 10 miles next year.
  3. This. There's a drip right above my seat, it gives my kids no end of amusement to see their old man getting wet.
  4. My son was 4 at the time, when I got home from work my wife told me that whilst she was watching it repeated over & over again, she realised he was copying it with his toys. She decided it was time to put The Tellytubbies back on.
  5. Diddums! I find it hard to relate to modern footballers & their insufferable egos. Some of them are such delicate little flowers, who expect everything to be handed to them on a silver plater.
  6. I doubt if he'll play for England again. Hodgeson said in todays mirror that he's been over-looked because he didn't want to be on the standby list for the Euros.
  7. David Weir for me.
  8. Exactly what happened to Beattie. I doubt if the other players could look him in the eye after the match.
  9. PMQT would be fun.
  10. Love him, or loathe him, but Boris gave a great speech at the Athletes Parade. I'm not of his political persuasion, but I'd pay to see him doing stand-up, or after dinner speaking.
  11. You're welcome
  12. ITV 7.30pm
  13. Wow. Good luck to the lad. I just hope he doesn't get injured. I may even watch it now.
  14. Thanks. Food for thought.
  15. Went to an open day at VT in the late 70's. I was so impressed with the drawing office that I fell in love with TD & wanted to be a draughtsman.
  16. Slightly off topic, but loosley related. In just over a year my eldest will be 17, he's already babbled on about driving, but the insurance will be crippling. My cunning plan, is to buy a cheap motor bike/scooter when he's 16, insure him for it, but not let him ride it (I think I may be heading for the divorce court if he did), thus earning himself a year of two of no-claims, which he can transfer to a car whenever he chooses to buy one. Is this feasible (or even leagal)?
  17. Well done you. Exactly what I do. Don't let the bastards win.
  18. I think we need to know if they are Saints or Man U fans. Clearly if the latter there isn't a problem with them getting a "bit of a slap". Is there? I'm being facetious.
  19. Congrats to her. Will we get a gold post box?
  20. At that distance there may be a hint of catenary in a rule. Definitely let the junior do the travelling, although at 45p per mile, the expenses might kill the job, I think I'll let someone else work out the logistics.
  21. That's what I've got (4.73364x10^15 actually). If you take the tape, I'll hold this end here.
  22. As in comic
  23. Or Kerry Dixon.
  24. That would be Patrick Trant.
  25. These guys: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html Seems to have worked for me.
