Sorry to bring this old thread up, but since Ralph Krueger has made mention of looking for a sports director a couple of times, this was the only thread I could find on the topic. I'd forgotten that Cortese originally wanted to hire one. (See post #3) Will be interesting to see who we go for.

Funnily enough, I found my the old match-day program from the friendly we played after Markus / Nicola came into the club. I looked through it and we really were down to bare bones - Think we'd been well beaten by Bournemouth before that game, and managed a 0-0 against a non-league club before that.

Well Krueger did say in a recent interview he's trying to get a bigger budget. Would make sense that MP is waiting on that before committing his future.

There's a chance that the CEO job will go to Gareth Rogers on a full time basis. Apparently Krueger said they'd like to appoint from within for certain roles.

Not sure we'd really need one. Les Reed must do a fair few things that a sports director would do. Maybe he just means CEO.

Exactly. Lets be honest, when the seriously massive clubs are very interested it will be incredibly hard to keep him. (Especially when quite a few of them are screaming out for left back)

John Williams? I guess a lot depends on whether Krueger being chairman means he's just the head of the board, or whether he will be the acting chief exec too. I imagine we'd still need a chief exec. We will find out soon enough.
