You have to have more about you than 'hope' to do well in this league . Ambition and decisive skillful football might get you somewhere - hope will not.......

If JWP is the answer what is the question? He doesn't affect games in a material way, doesn't score goals or make runs into dangerous positions. He can kick a dead ball and make an easy pass but is probably not going to be good enough...
-
A poor goal keeper why is he in ahead of Boruc???? He is truly awful...always asleep always stood rooted to his line and never alert to what's going on in the game. Vulnerable to the ball over the top as he's always not watching the game and stood on his line. Some blame must go to the coaches for his continued similar mistakes. Dross watched him a lot now and he is poor.....

Forster is a liability

Forster is a liability
-
The reason he got into trouble against Villa was exactly the same. He is too slow to get to the ball because he is asleep on his line. He was caught out the same against City but go away with it...
-
Whilst Fonte is for sure losing his touch why why don't the coaches teach Forster to be on his marks ready to 'sweep' and not permanently rooted to his line asleep like he is....

For Gods sake did Koeman watch our last two games with Mane,Pelle, and Long together! No midfield ????? What the hell is he on? A poor team and asking for it against United !!! Unbelievable ... Our midfield will too far apart and completely overrun ala Man City....
-
If you have nothing to say why start a thread about it!!!!!
-
If Tadic has another poor game will he be dropped for Man U? One would doubt it but hell he doesn't deserve a place right now...
-
At long last Jack Cork gets another game! About time too... Too a good a player to be on the bench all the time... This is probably our best team IMO. Controversial I know but I think is at least as good as MS and better than SD . Yes cork can play that more advanced role if required... Against City we were woeful with the ball and Jack Cork misplaces a pass about twice a season....
-
Frankly the 'system' I saw against Man. City and very recently isn't one to get excited about and desperately hold on to. So being precious about that doesn't hold much water...
-
Can't that he is better than Boruc at all... He was at fault for the Villa and almost made the same mistake again today... He needs to be out nearer the edge of his area when the ball is up the other end and not stood on his blinking goaline so he has to run miles to get to a ball played over the top... Can't believe our goalkeeping coaches haven't sorted that out after Villa. Makes me wonder what they do all week..,

Good call Cleaner. Tadic was really poor as was Pelle and Mane and Davis and Forster who needs some coaching on where to stand when the ball is up the field and it's not on his goal line!!!! Didn't he or the management learn that at Villa???? If he is 10m better than Boruc then he must be something else in training! Big problems lately... We do not close down - City and Chelsea do. The result is we got caught in possession umpteen times because they hunt in packs - we don't! The reason we were caught out so many times was also the fact that we use the age old method of playing football - pass and stand still. Our player in posseession never had options - city always had about four! This meant as we stood off they just passed through us more or less at will.... So what coaching are we employing... This was not football played by us today this was dark ages Saints stuff hoping for something to happen - many of saw years of it but now rightly we expect something more thought through and structured.... We were poor today and the concern was our method of play as much as some very poor individual performances.... Lack of structure however puts the pressure on individuals to perform miracles ....
-
100% correct. We have to control midfield last game three forwards did not work and it definately won't work today. What does Koeman have against Cork who is a very fine player and somewhat better than the 'famous' JWP.....
-
Oh Brenda Your are so conceited that you forgot to coach the team properly..... Your answer - apparently you need to spend another 50m or so! Ummm haven't you already tried throwing money at the problem ?????? Perhaps if you looked within you might gather more wisdom from improving your own performance. It's a long shot though. Just loved Lovren falling over for their second or third goal - great signing.... You are in deep Doo dah mate Suarez made you look good and you are now stuffed... One might venture that Liverpool are showing a lack of ambition even? I see you have Stoke next and won't be a stroll in the park iether!!!!!
-
But Cork is a better player so why the wishful thinking?
-
In all honesty, not nearly as good as his hype..... Truly does not affect games..
-
There have been several snide remarks he has made about playing for a big club inferring 'better' and belittling his previous employer. By inference fans of the little crap club on the south coast - seeing themselves as part of that 'club' are infuriated.... If you cannot see that you are either naive or have some personal loyalty thing going on that prevents you from seeing the rather inflated ego which our former midfielder seems to continually massage...... And no I don't have quotes but there are numerous out there if you don't believe the fans on here who are to put it mildly dismaid by their former captain's behaviour.... So thank you for the sermon (did you see what I did there ;-) ) but you will find a very small congragation on here. I suggest you go and preach nearer the place where such great footballers dream of playing and where their head has been for months before departing.....
-
Villa really are terrible. We should expect to win this game quite comfortably....
-
Game needs Cork. We do give the ball away too often. probably need to sort that to beT the top teams - we'll see....
-
Come on let's get real here - he's not blinkin Maurinio is he or was he ....... So much sentiment ...... If he was that good Reading would be top of the Championship! Cortese took us to the Premier League not Adkins. Cortese sacked Pardew and brought in Adkins. His decisions were decisive and correct. Cortese worked on fact not sentiment and the results speak for themselves. He chose also to unload Adkins correctly and the results prove that was a very perceptive decision.... He then brought in an improvement and no one can deny it was an improvement..... You can't run a £100m pound company on any sentiment. You can't run any size company on sentiment - try it - you will not be successful - ever.... Adkins was a very nice guy there is no denying it but that's not what it's about.
-
I would say he succeeded in what he did but was suspect in some areas and Cortese was right to move him on. Cortese saw him up close and knew far more about him that we did.... I would also say that anyone who picked and continued to pick Danny Fox despite his very obvious costly shortcomings is not the real deal.....
-
Fell asleep half through that!
-
Is it me or is this result against Real sweet music...........Didn't watch it but 0-3 by half time........! When Real come knocking you know you have made it.... When Liverpool come knocking - well .........How much progress have you really made - unless you play for Doncaster - no disrespect to them of course.... The 'short cut' to Champions League might not be very long lasting..... short term thinking, greed or ideas of joining a successful club from the last century may not be all their cracked up to be. Come on Saints show the mercenaries that left that their selfish ideas of dropping their colleagues and supporters in aid of their own extreme monetary and star struck gain at a 'big' club are not always the the way to success and stardom and certainly ultimate happiness...... Unless it's a 'Real' top team... So want Saints to finish above Liverpool this year............... Not bitter but certainly happy tonight ...!
