The top four and Champions League seemed a pipe dream when NC took over and we were Lg 1 and -10 points but by Christmas four years later we were in the top four, it was within reach. He wanted to strengthen at that point but KL drew the line. At the wrong moment in my opinion

'a flaw?' or could be the way the manager uses him, with some encouragement this year he could blossom

When a team is relegated its not unusual to see players rush to get away but have you ever sen a rush of players trying to get a way from a team that ended 8th and had everything in its favour? That's why I think the board or the vision must seem weak to the players.

It's wishful thinking, leopards don't lose their spots, Osvaldo's attitude is all wrong and has been at several clubs. Remember how Roma fans couldn't wait to get rid. We achieved something big by rehabilitating Puncheon but Osvaldo is different, a Suarez type but not as good. We are rebuilding and we don't want trouble makers in the midst of that.

Bad, mad and sad

Morgan says the directors know his wishes. Is that the last word on the matter? How about the directors telling Morgan their wishes? The directors seem spineless or perhaps they are under orders to cash in.

Good assessments. I think Katharine didn't understand (football is not like any other business) the huge rewards that would come from NC investments. £86million for 8th place and players worth tens of millions is a colossal return for her father's investment. She just thought NC was spending a lot, i would be thrilled with an investment that quadrupled in five years (or something like that). Most of us are lucky to get 5%

If we sign eight players that's good and they're welcome, let's hope they gell quickly. but what we are losing is irreplaceable because they were not just talented, they had been together for yonks and played for each other. That's rare in the modern game, we saw it last season and now we've lost it

It's wishful thinking to imagine the Cortese vision is still alive, it is well and truly destroyed. we just hope something else arises and that its not a relegation fight. By the way, where is the chairman while all this is going on? On holiday?
-
Some folk say that NCs vision of a Champions League place was misleading and impossible and beyond us and he got good players like Lovren under false pretences. but in fact we came from bankruptcy and -10 points in the third tier to a Champions League spot in the Premiership until Boruc broke his hand, so we weren't that far off. If we had built at that point, but we didn't, NCs vision was not supported. If you don't go forward you go back.

What ever way anyone looks at it and what ever anyone's feelings about NC or KL the fact is the Liebherrs have a colossal return for their investment and we have had five breathtakingly successful fun years, good all round up to now. NC deserves praise all round, don't see him getting it, sadly
-
If NC spent more than he was meant to KL should be happy because she is now creaming tens of millions but NCs work is falling apart
-
Is Ralph still on holiday? He's obviously a good salesman, not only FFs books but the team as well, still happy FF?

8th place in the Premiership earned us £86million, how are we living beyond our means?

The project ended when NC left

I can't understand how the board can issue a statement which says they have acted in the best interests of the club and sent a strong message to other clubs. The only message they have sent is ' come and get who you want, we're a selling club' By the way, where is the chairman? I can't imagine NC going missing at a time like this
-
Should the club who has the best academy in the country......?
Dellman replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
We'd have won quite a lot by now if we hadn't sold them all. Simple. -
FF where is your friend Ralph when we need him? Oh he sells your books, so that's alright then
-
Can anyone explain to me the value of a contract in football?
-
Is the chairman still on holiday?
-
The amazing achievements of the NC years are unravelling, is the chairman still on holiday?
-
What is the value of a contract? why does the wishes of one party to it count and the wishes of the other party not count?

Regarding Luke, why do people say £30million is a lot for an 18year old? They will get 15 years from him which is £2m a year, and they're able to pay him £150k a wk which is £7million a year so we ought to charge at least £40m which is still less than £3million a year, meanwhile they will be paying him £117million over the 15 years. Yes, I've changed my mind we should charge them £50million if they are able to pay him that much.

St. Mary's becomes first European stadium to have LED floodlights

Yes they do deserve a pat on the back but Koeman is not the issue regarding players staying, it is a little matter of an offer of £160k a week, what teenager will refuse that?
