As tough as it'll be to have sub inflation pay hikes, the fact is that inflation plus will only fuel inflation, thus even higher interest rates, and the vicious cycle goes on. There's a degree of restraint needed on pay to help us get out of the shit we're in.

On balance, yes. The junior criminal bar are earning £85 for a brief for all prep, travel time, conference, paperwork, hearing time, etc. Often many many hours work. There's a genuine public interest in having representation in the criminal courts.

The dopey unions can't see that nothing getting through the ports will only cause supply/demand issues, thus more inflationary pressures. I agree though that it'll be a nightmare winter. There's genuine fear out there amongst a lot of people. Striking and demanding pay massive rises that'll only make things worse isn't the solution though.

Just looking at the Spurs v Wolves teams. Wolves have assembled a bloody good squad... arguably 5 of their bench would improve our first eleven at the moment.

KWP will be off by next year unless he extends, Tino is out, whether Perraud is quality is subjective...we could do better at LB imo. Full back needs a quality addition for me.

Yep. JWP dropping off at RB causes all manner of issues. As you say, it gives their man space to use the ball, but it also means we drop deeper which creates all manner of issues including making us less compact meaning the press can't really happen. JWP is our best midfielder. Play him in midfield.

I agree re Perraud, he's average imo and we could do better. The obvious solution is a decent LB to come in and keep KWP at RB and revert to a back 4. I'm not sure about Valery though...on balance I'd prefer a 5 than Valery at RB, but it's very much the lesser of 2 evils.

We've never "aspired to be the best". We've probably aspired to be the best we can and no doubt we still do. I don't see your issue with the manager saying that we're not quite at Leicester's level yet. We're not. Ralph ain't here to massage fans egos, which is essentially what you're asking him to do.

I've just read his wiki page. He had a serious injury in the champions league playing for Leeds, then a really choppy career ending with a recent management role for an Australian semi pro team. Makes you realise some of the lengths these players have to go to stay in the game after a set back.
