Can (on a selfish stretch of the regs) does not equal should. On your question. No they wouldn't. People move, not viruses.

"Local". The term you interpret to mean 10 miles, but any responsible person wouldn't a) seek to interpret so liberally / selfishly and b) would know that 10 miles is not local.

You're struggling to keep up here aren't you. None of those are subject to lockdown regs.

Ah, whateboutery. Now that's a shit argument, let's stick to the the non local cycling discussion in respect of which, you know as well as I do that a) you're flexing the regs to justify it and b) you'll have the audacity to moan (you're there already with your shopping point) that others are flexing regs to do what they want.

Percentages mate. Less idiots on the road, less risk of accidents.

9 miles from home cannot be considered local. The bigger point though is that too many people interpret regs to suit themselves, or to get around them. Personally I find this whole "I've got around the rules" mantra pathetic and selfish.

Don't be an idiot. I've not said that anyone should be denied a bed. The point is that they're running out, and selfish people going for a 2 hour or whatever cycle ride increase the risk of selfish people taking a valuable bed.

They're not my regs fellas. The regs say local exercise. I can understand why you want to do what you enjoy, but here's the rub - we all do.

Not 9 miles. I suspect the decision will be made for you in coming days / weeks.

No vendetta against cyclists Weston but absolutely an issue with people doing what they want whilst others do as they should. If your cycling for hours you are not staying local, unless you're going around the block lots. There's no denying that being outside away from others is as safe as it gets. We all know that, andball appreciate the benefits of it. However, that can be done with local exercise, not cycling miles away, jumping in your car to go for a walk, etc. We'll agree to differ mate. It's on you not me if your little outings result in you taking medical resources that someone unwell needs. I suspect, and hope, that the chances are minimal but the point is it could.

Local exercise did not envisage people going a distance from their homes. We'll agree to differ, but if the attitude demonstrated on here, ie do what you want and justify it, perhaps explains why we're fucked. We're in lockdown, it's not hard to understand what that involves.

That's absurd. Covid patients are exactly that. They need treatment. Idiots don't need to be out on their bikes, driving to go for a walk, lining up for a coffee, taking the family to costco for a look around, etc. It's easy to justify doing something that you shouldn't be doing, but it doesn't make it right.

Behave. You're just another selfish idiot doing what you want and ridiculing people that highlight that. It's not just a case of the risk of passing someone with covid and getting a cough in the face. I suspect you know that. Besides, lockdown is shit for all apart from the selfish who crack on regardless.

Quite. It's a simple concept that's too complex for the simple.

There's no reasoning with you Weston. You're not the brightest light and clearly think you're right. You carry on doing what you're doing. But just have a little think about the impact on the NHS if one of those cars out today hit you, or whatever. Alas you can't think beyond yourself.

Sorry to hear about your mate Del. Hopefully he'll be OK. The difficulty of course is people getting the virus and getting on with their lives before they are aware of the need to isolate. Even assuming people isolate when they are told to, the damage has been done and teh virus spreads. The only way prevent that is keeping out of harms way.

Weston, you're a shining example of how to keep safe. Give yourself a reward. The difficulty in dealing with people like you though is that you believe you're right and being safe. You may be right. Other people feel the same. Despite that, half a million people - let that number sink in - are catching this each week. I person a minute died yesterday. You're correct. I think you're a selfish cunt.

  20. Yep, me too. N'lundulu is now part of the first team picture, ditto Tella, and Obafemi appears to be off the naughty step albeit is now injured. I guess the issue is whether he has PL potential. Interesting link though.

    1. OK, so you're making a statement for the sake of it. Past mistakes don't mean action isn't needed now. 2. The science behind this strain is simple. It passes on speech or even breath and lingers for hours. If someone wanting a walk where the trees are a bit nicer goes for a piss, a cuppa, fuel, etc, but asymptomatic, the virus spreads. This virus isn't spreading by itself. 3. So crack on and cross your fingers is your solution. Nice. If I had a shit argument I'd leave as well. Enjoy your non local and non essential outing

Yep, especially the last bit. They expect their arse to be wiped, but to be able to get on with life, and for the fairies to take the virus away.

If they are capable of acting sensibly, that haven't been. Half a million cases a week don't happen by most people being sensible. It happens with a combination of people being unlucky and acting like idiots. It's easy to whinge about the state we're in, but pretty stupid to then say that the measures being take to slow the mess are too much. I don't put myself on a pedestal. I engage my brain. Try it.

Explain how reference to past mistakes from the government, and others, is any way helpful to slowing the spread now. Explain how people moving around with the virus slows the spread. Explain how you say we should slow the spread

Should people really need laws to realise the danger of this stuff and act sensibly rather than selfishly? Given that so many people feel it'd be nice to jump in their car and go somewhere else for a stroll, or pop round their mates house for a cuppa, it seems that strong arm tactics are now needed. I'm not sure what you're on about about the earlier lock down. I've never advocated being a selfish div. I think you have though.
