  1. Feck me. I'll go back to the gardening. MLG, get a grip of yourself. And a hobby.

Well if nobody knows, then it's OK. Jeez. This is why we will end up with more deaths, a longer "lockdown" and probably a deeper recession, than other countries.

Highlighting one act of stupidity does not justify another.

Are you serious or on a wind up? It's pretty obvious. On a long trip you'll likely stop for fuel, a pee, food, a break etc. On a 2 mile trip you won't. The more we stop, the more we come into contact with others, doors, etc etc. Plus a 200 mile trip brings with it a much greater chance of a breakdown thus 3rd party contact, and/or an accident thus monopolising medical staff and hospital space.
  5. Unless someone googles this, it's a 1 in 90 guess!

  8. I have no issue with that. I've said above that people can have a different concept of god. It's not all Morgan Freeman on a cloud.
  9. Yes, that's the one. Read all those words. He wasn't religious. As I've said over and over, many people who have come to have a belief in a God are not religious. Try to separate God, religion, prayer. 3 different things that can exist as a belief separately of each other. Einstein said, and I repeat "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous". Essentially, he was saying that coincidences are gods calling cards. His theory. Not mine.
  10. Then focus on Einstein. Look at his scientific theories, not least the theory of relativity. Do you challenge his opinion? Look at his God theories, not least his words "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous". Does the opinion of Einstein not, at least, merit respect?
  11. Indeed, I focused on Einstein as he was a scientist, and I wanted to see what MLG had to say about the belief of a legendary scientist in an intangible deity.
  12. And go back through history. That Albert Einstein was arguably one of the finest and rational thinkers of all time. He believed in God. To MLG he must be an irrational crackpot. To everyone else he's a genius who's work has had a huge influence on the philosophy of science, and developed the theory of relativity being one of the two pillars of modern physics. But MLG knows best.
  13. Yep, music was poor. I also got it into my head for some reason that Ray's character was written for Tom Hardy but that they had to make do with some stand in who looked a bit like him.
  14. You'd need to ask them but it could be peace for another, or for suffering to stop, or direction, or anything, but what does it matter to anyone? Sure, if they've got a poorly child and pray for divine intervention and avoiding a medic then that's effecting someone, but praying that their poorly child who's in a hospital, for example, gets well does nobody any harm. Who says that they are praying for anything directly for themselves? You're falling into the MLG position of your assumptions clouding an objective view. The bottom line is that if prayer gives someone some kind of comfort or peace, where is the harm? On the last bit, people believe in God without believing in any particular religion. Others believe in a God that's a God that they choose to believe in, not necessarily your understanding of what they may believe is God. Either way, it impacts on nobody else thus its a private matter for them.

  16. I need to see it again, just didn't feel it in the cinema and thought it much worse than snatch and lock stock. Will give it another go, but yep, Hugh Grant was brilliant.
  17. Not often we agree but I think we're in a minority here. The players agreeing to essentially loan money to the club is not the sacrifice and massive gesture people are making it out to be.
  18. I'm not letting you off the subject of prayer mate. I still want you to explain who was harmed by that prayer example I gave you. Or acknowledge that nobody would have been. I'll address another issue once you finally deal with that.
  19. Sure Christians believe in the Bible and God. But many people who pray do not follow any religion, or subscribe to the beliefs of any. Many also don't believe that God is the creator of anything.
  20. If you haven't, what's your issue with people praying?!
  21. Your conception of the god that you believe in is that it was the creator of everything. Its odd that you have any concept of something you do not believe exists. For those that believe in a god, they may or not believe that God to be the creator of anything. You neeitk move away from your own views and amalgamation of god/religion/prayer.
  22. Who is harmed by that GP praying? What does it have to do with you or anyone?
  23. Reap/sow.
  24. Yep, pretty poor show given that Scottish lady had to resign for visiting her holiday home. There has to be consistency.
  25. Spot on. Our approach has been a shambles. Slow, indecisive, confused, just plain crap.
