Burnley fans taking the "he was **** anyway!" approach, one familiar to us when we were in decline.
-
I hope we don't pay too much in trying to sign Rodriguez, only one good season and still only managed 15 goalsl, no way he is worth 4.5m let alone 6 or 7 mil

Gordon Simpson really doesn't seem to be in the know to the degree a journalist covering the club should be, if Monday is anything to go by, his "sources," are about as ITK as football-rumours.co.uk

Harry Redknapps development on the southsea seafront is on fire.

Long lists of supposedly interested clubs are usually a sign that this was fed to the journalist by an agent. Maybe this guy wants a new contract at Carlisle.

That article is amazing, everything after the first couple of paragraphs could be replaced with the phrase "We saw you coming lol."

Was injured for the run in too and we were certainly didn't miss him then either. Good business really if we can get similar money for AOC as we got for Walcott, who was our best player at the time and Bale, who carried the team to the play offs in his season here.
-
IMO had we kept him there is a chance the hype surrounding him could have distracted the team like it did to Everton when they were trying to keep Rooney.

The Daily Mail said we were in for jay Rodriguez and Danny Fox

So QPR are trying to set up swap deals with players without asking the player they want to swap if they are happy to go along with it? Sounds about right given the fools running the show up there. Can't blame Gorkss for wanting to stay since he played a major role in getting them up.

he stuck the #WHU hashtag next to it, so I guess West Ham have entered the race.

As mentioned in the Waghorn thread Fourth_official, who is usually quite accurate has tweeted something similar this afternoon, so it seems like this has some legs to it.
-
Coupled with FA46's tweet it does seem like we are trying to make a move for Maynard, since it would appear that he has been their top target this summer. Are Leicester rumoured to be in for any other big signings?

reading some of that blokes posts, a lot of people there seem to think he is a WUM.

For a gauge on how good press predictions are; here is the Guardian's for last season: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/football-league-blog/2010/aug/05/football-league-preview

Don't think he is Prem quality tbh. Can see Blackburn going down especially if they lose Samba.

3. 7th to 12th, I think even with a good CB added, we may be done down the wings a bit too often to finish any higher.

Since the difference in ability between the top 16 or so sides is so small, whether or not a team does well depends more on how good the manager is at getting the best out of what he has. I know that's true in most leagues, but in some other leagues (like the SPL), certain teams have squads that are so much better than the majority that even with a clueless manager they'll still finish near the top. Whereas in the championship good management is the difference between 1st and 15th. If you look at all the squads, most teams have 3 or 4 good players and about 20 average ones (except Pompey since they don't have that many players). It's how these teams are set up tactically and how they are motivated that will decide whether we finish in the mid-table abyss or whether we can put together a good run and make a challenge on Promotion. Only things that would disappoint me is relegation (obviously) and finishing below Pompey and Brighton My main worry is that we'll win the tough matches, then choke in the games we should win and wind up mid table. Still, I don't expect us to really make a push for promotion until next season.

Treacy and Boyd are good signings for them, they needed to make some moves though since they lost Mears, Eagles and couldn't sign Cork and had only brought in a couple of kids from man city on loan.
-
I don't know, seems like people predicting automatic promotion for Leicester are slightly overestimating them IMO. They've brought in a lot of players and will probably bring in a couple more, but those players are all going to go into the team at once and be expected to perform straight away. It will be an entirely different team. Not to mention that of the 8 players they've signed so far Mills is the only one who I'd really rate as exceptional at this level. The rest I feel have either lost their form in recent times or decent players hyped up to be dominant at this level like Danns. It will be interesting to see what happens if Leicester don't make a good start.

http://www.football-lineups.com/team/Young_Boys_Bern/Europa_League_2010-2011 Played a lot in the Europa league last season, even scored against Zenit.
-
Hopefully, that's the last time he is mentioned. Not a bad player, just don't see him as any kind of improvement and at 32 is only going to get worse.
-
I think AOC, his dad and everyone else that has turned his head have really misread NC if they think this, look at Puncheon, will never get near the first team again but NC seemingly won't lower his valuation of the player or else he would be long gone.
-
Time to sell on. he won't give 100% if we make him stay. especially if he thinks the brutish defenders in the championship will give him a career ending boo-boo.
