  1. Just what we need, raw talent with a bit of passion. I know he's got a bit of a reputation...but Adkins has worked wonders with improving the technique and attitude of every player in the squad. Morgan can tackle as well as pass, Lambert is leaner, fitter and smarter as well as powerful and a good finisher etc.etc. If there's ever been a Saints manager who I'd trust taking a gamble on a talent, it'd be Adkins, as for Zaha, he's got a lot of potential.
  2. I'd re-phrase that, but only slightly to "I wouldn't be particularly surprised if we never saw him in a Saints shirt again". I guess he'll get a run-around in the Carling Cup or w/e or maybe the earlier rounds of the FA Cup. In all seriousness, loyalty and sentiment has to go in the bin when it comes to the Premiership I'm afraid. No way is he a Premiership player.
  3. Anyone know when squad numbers are announced?
  4. Here are Stoke City's attendances for the first half dozen or so games of the 06/07 season when they were a regular c/ship team. If there's one team who's fans get more credit than they deserve, who infuriate me probably even more than Pompey, its bloody Stoke and this nonsense about their johnny-come-lately "fans" playing a part in the fact that an away day against a team of hoofball, time-wasting, cynical bullies is a tough fixture. No ****ing way are they ahead of us in numbers and in terms of proper, loyal supporters. 5. He was my hero back when he was always the star of the show on football Italia way back on channel 5 in the 90s. I'd have him here in a heartbeat. It'd increase our profile hugely and with Cortese's Italian connections you never know I guess...
  6. I'd be up for an Ajax-style kit. Anyone else or is that a no-no?
  7. And why does a kid who looks 9 or 10 have a girlfriend of like...16 or something? Very strange.
  8. To be honest I'd rather Blackpool and that attention-seeking twit Holloway weren't in the Prem - always crying out for sympathy about how his plucky Blackpool side have been harshly treated by referees, the Premier League, the inflated transfer market, the fixture list and the Obama administration and giving his opinion on everything when its neither wanted or needed.
  9. Robert Lewandowski could be a good bet. Most goals are scored in group games and sometimes if you can get 3 or 4 in the group (in his case vs Russia, Czech Rep. and Greece) then you only need to add one more in the knockouts for the golden boot.
  10. haha. word. The lad STARTS for the world cup runners-up and has been linked with all of the forces of darkness from Man U/C to R.Madrid
  11. All black with a thin red trim. Smart and cool. As for the other away kit lets go all yellow and ditch the blue shorts, which I know are traditional but for me make us look like a pub team who've bought their kit from JJB.
  12. Good god no.
  13. SAINTSWEB Y U NO CHOOSE THIS!? in all seriousness any song would be good because we definitely do need a song for probably our most talented player in the squad.
  14. He's more than welcome to come to Saints but his name on his shirt better be Ortiz or Toribio. I'm hardly the biggest traditionalist but seriously, f8ck stupid nicknames on the back of the shirt. Someone let him know how daft his name will sound in England and tell him to have Ortiz or w/e on the back of his shirt. Having said all that, if he's a good player then he can get involved! But please Saints, lets break the bank for Sigurdsson. I'd happily spend 8 million on him. Sigurdsson and Schneiderlin in CM are easily Europa League quality.
  15. Forest at home was a cracking game with a great atmosphere and good opposition who played an open, attacking game. Could have gone either way and neither team really deserved to lose. Great game of football.
  16. I think we will need a few "boring" signings alongside champo youth prospects it. I'm talking about a CB and CMF with Premiership experience and general good footballing intelligence. Reo-Coker or Dean Whitehead might both be good signings.
  17. That's because he was playing at right-back, and you know who else in that game was anonymous? Our left-winger Adam Lallana. Him and Zaha would be great additions.
  18. Liverpool at home!

    The Skids

We should sing it more on away days really. Perfect song for us really and a perfect song for football with a lot of energy.
  20. They do unless ours is a score draw! We have the edge on goals scored by 2. Here's a question though; what happens if we draw 1-1 and they win 3-0? Head to head or games won? Both of which we fortunately have an edge in.
  21. I like this, I like it a lot.
  22. I'd quite like to see us with a modern Ajax-style kit. Similar to the Air Florida one but the other way round with white shorts and white socks.
  23. That's what I'm saying. What IS the evidence? I couldn't care less whether or not he's innocent or guilty or whether he goes free or not, doesn't matter to me. I don't have a vested interest either way, but I was wondering what the evidence itself was.
  24. Care to elaborate? Unless they have cameras in the actual hotel room how or unless cameras in the lobby/corridors actually showed them carrying a passed out girl into their room it does seem like a very strange verdict.
  25. Precisely. Once the season is over everything goes into the past and can be utterly disregarded in terms of results. The value of the championship is purely instrumental; promotion to the Premier League.
