Southampton/Portsmouth,city of culture joint bid!
S-Clarke replied to saint lard's topic in The Lounge
jesus ****ing christ, what smart arse thought up that idea? probably someone earning 60k a year. -
He is only in football because of his dad, if his dad wasn't Tony Pulis he would be in a completely different profession, because let's face it - he cannot really play football.
-
seriously, no chance. hes never going to play again, he cant even walk properly at the moment! as people have said, he's also taken a big insurance pay out - and he'd have clauses in that payout that states he cannot play professionally again, otherwise it's void.

It is a very sad story, he was the one player who i felt could do a similar job to Teddy Sherringham, he was a very intelligent player. There was also another article about him on the sky sports site today, he's got to have another operation on his ankle because he still cannot even walk properly. - but he'll never be able to run or jog again, in his own words. so sad.

Pardew on hospital visit, supporters & players' social skills!
S-Clarke replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
for a moment, skim reading, i thought that said pardew in hospital...! but yeh, that is a good article. - i like what he says about how he looks forward to training at the moment. sounds like it's a great place to me right now! -
******** - i always like having him in the side. We've looked much more solid..

Munto Finance v Markus Liebherr (Notts County v Saints)
S-Clarke replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
I agree, i still cannot believe it. I'm also impressed with Cortese, who speaks with sense and realism. TBH i did worry about his health when you first saw his pics back during the Ajax/millwall games - but he looks better these days. -
Munto Finance v Markus Liebherr (Notts County v Saints)
S-Clarke replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Well this has been a pretty emphatic win for markus. it shows we're doing it the right way "Notts County is on the market, Munto Finance are seeking to dispose of the club and are in contact with some potential buyers. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/notts_county/8405269.stm -
interesting, just found the link - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1234340/Under-QPR-manager-Jim-Magilton-faces-axe-headbutt-Akos-Buzsaky-threatens-press-charges.html

something may have gone on in the background, but for a club with supposed ''mega rich'' backers, they are making a hell of a mess of that club. Magilton is their 4th manager in 2 seasons i think. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/q/qpr/8403668.stm

If they come out of the other end of this, with no points deductions or punishments, then football is screwed. They shouldn't be able to get away with what they did. They're not in this position for any other reason than chasing the dream, very similar to leeds. I'm sure in comparison they spent the same amount as Leeds did a few years back (maybe even a bit more) If they do go down, i have no doubt that they'll be a complete train wreck. The worry is that they do stay up - as the premiership these days is full of utter dross. You do not need to be superstars to stay up this season.

and Kettering have just equalized at Elland Road...should be an interesting end to the match.

3-0 Luton now, game over i would have thought.
