FCUM wasn't designed to stop Glazers, it was to give United fans an alternative away from the commercial monster their club had become. Genuine local match going fans know they have limited power but they can say enough is enough and make a statement like start their own club and enjoy football as it was intended to be.

To be fair to the scousers sounds like their organised fan groups are up for taking the fight to their own club, many at Man United saw this coming a while ago and formed FCUM, none of the match going fans at these clubs want this, it's all about global tv audience.

Only because wages are so high. Reduce income and cut wages accordingly to survive.
  4. Another good example of corruption in football. They were so desperate to evidence the "growing popularity of the women's game " the authorities just wanted Man Utd in there to piggyback on their support base, no attempt to promote on merit like a sporting competition should.
  5. That will go down as one of the least memorable cup semi finals, in fact most people will have already forgotten about it, both Saints and Leicester were poor but always felt they could step up a gear if needed. Having made it to the semi final to go out without any fight massively disappointing,

These teams are not looking to breakaway from the Premier league, this ESL is being set up to rival the champions league, clubs would only leave domestic competition if they were kicked out and I don't think the Premier league will have the balls to do that.

More and more old school fans I know are following non league clubs just for this reason, can still meet up with mates, have a few beers, go to the match on a Saturday 3pm , watch a competitive game without the hype, I think that's where the future is for people like me.
  8. Really can't see the players being up for this, they drifted through a semi final without laying a glove on Leicester, we've now got to play Super league Spurs who despite struggling recently will have too much for us.

Fair play to Neville, doesn't hold back.

I think they will mate, I've seen a number of Spurs I know (who all go home and away) saying it would be the last straw for them , sounds like complete agreement amongst their match going fans that this is a terrible idea. Personally I'd be quite happy to get rid of the top 6, would make football more competitive and much more attractive for me. I fear this is actually more of a negotiating tool that they will use to stay in domestic / champions league but get bigger cut of tv deals
  11. How many players started in 2018 that will start today? Probably just one or two (Bednarek, Bertrand?)
  12. Wasn't the old slogan, Southampton Way, we don't buy success we breed it or something like that. Burton Albion knocking us out of the FA Youth cup should have resulted in great embarrassment within the club, despite our owner the resources available at Saints are much higher and the academy results don't reflect that.
  13. I'm afraid not, we had our wins against Sheffield United and Burnley , I think our next win will be due around the time we play Fulham.
  14. Physically we are far too weak in midfield, teams have realised that and we are struggling with it, also exposes our back 4 as often the midfield rarely get a challenge in or track runners. West Brom won every 50/50 last night.
  15. Hate to ask this, but what's the record defeat in a FA Cup semi-final ?
  16. This is going to be another feeble effort like 2018 again isn't it. Feel sorry for the poor employees of Brent council and NHS workers who are given seats at the Saints end of the ground.
  17. Close but our plucky defenders have only conceded 56, they've conceded 59. Absolute shambles , can't just blame defensive, our midfield won zero 50/50s and provided no protection, far too soft.
  18. West Brom (worst defensive record in the league) comfortably keeping a clean sheet against our useless cunts. We look toothless, can't score and certainly can't defend. Next week's semi final feels like a waste of time.
  19. Not one good performance in that side
  20. Drop the lot of them, useless wankers
  21. Results this weekend look to have put a stop to our dreams of finishing in the top 11, all about the battle for 12th now, between us, Wolves and Palace. Relegation looks decided, title long done, SKY will need to hype up the battle for top 4. Hope Leicester miss out again.
  22. Agree looks like definitely in the play offs, hopefully go into them as the form side and ride the wave to promotion, top away day and should be a side to fill one of the bottom 3 slots. Norwich and Watford although are not bad trips its very boring seeing them come straight back up.
  23. Same boycott the world cup for having the front to interrupt out domestic season , world cups are for warm summer's evenings not cold December days when we should be shivering on the terraces.
  24. Crying against Liverpool was the start of our horrific run of form, all for people showing their emotions but hope Ralph has learned from that. Was a bit embarrassing considering Liverpool have since lost to Burnley, Brighton, Fulham etc
  25. I'm surprised we haven't formally requested to forfeit the league and demote us to a level we can at least benefit from being competitive.
