  1. Will Jaidi get the sack for this? It's a weird level of football , during our Europa league run we had most of the u23s playing with the 1st team squad and u18s were playing the u23 games. We've also had injured players put into u23 games to gain fitness. Hopefully we'll still be allowed to compete in the checkatrade trophy.
  2. Completely agree, if this goes through in the next couple of weeks i hope we are given a lot more information on this shifty outfit. I can't see many journalists wanting to dig too deep into their affairs with the lethal injection deterrent.
  3. I disagree, plenty of examples of teams doing well , in recent history Middlebrough and Fulham have both made it to the final of that competition.

    Puel out

I was told on Sunday that for the first time in the clubs history we are about to complete a season without winning a home match on a Saturday (in league or cup), ok that is not a fair comparison as so many games are on a Sunday now but that is quite a stat. Saturday games; Watford - draw Sunderland - draw Liverpool - draw WBA - lose Arsenal - lose West Ham - lose Bournemouth - draw Man City - lose Hull - draw
  5. Well if we do get anything in this game it won't be thanks to the fans roaring on their team, we took a pathetic 983 allocation tucked away in the corner that contained more than 100 restricted / severely restricted view tickets, despite selling these with a month to go until the fixture we still didn't opt to take more tickets. I didn't think Liverpool were that good against Watford last night but they know they're just a couple of wins away from confirming Champions League football for next season , 3-1 home win my prediction with Saints dropping into the bottom half of the table.

    Puel out

It has been a fairly shlt season though, especially at home (17 goals in 16 league games, embarrassing exits in Europa and FA Cup), I think we've sat through enough poor games and you can feel the disappointment among the fans. Our support has been awful as well though, far to quick to boo and turn on the team (especially whipping boys like Forster) no one seems to be enjoying it any more.

    Puel out

the average saints game this season has been dull, that is a fact. The entertainment factor of our performances generally match that of the managers press conferences, snoozefest where we enjoy possession but not shots on goal (or even a goal). 17 home league goals in 16 matches - when was the last time we had such a season? I do feel sorry for Puel in some respects, we've had injuries to key players, but how many times have we walked away from games this season questioning what the manager was doing, i've lost count. I've never seen fans around me as angry as they were the night we went out of Europe at home to Be'ersheva.
  8. We have scored 17 goals in 16 home games, i cannot recall when was the last time we had a record as bad as that, also cannot recall the last time i saw a home crowd as disinterested as our lot at St Marys, anyone in two minds whether to renew their season ticket will find it an easy choice this evening. Nowhere near good enough, as soon as Tadic stepped up to take the pen i recalled the row he had with Austin and knew he'd miss it.
  9. what was the game where some of our fans were singing "Liebherrs out, the Chinese in" ? Palace away I think?
  10. there's a negative before the game has even began, I cannot stand Mike Dean, remember Bournemouth away last year Saints fans rightfully letting him know he'd got a decision wrong to which he responded by pretending to yawn. His main objective in a game seems to be to make himself centre of attention.
  11. Hopefully Hull play to win and make it an open entertaining game unlike some we've seen this season, Gabbiadini to score a couple in a 2-1 win. Don't expect a great atmosphere, Hull have only sold 800 tickets so far so there will be plenty of empty seats at the Northam end.
  12. wanting Spurs to win the league is not "something kind" ffs and you'll probably find 99% of Saints fans dislike for Spurs goes back way before Poch moved there.
  13. you'd be surprised, I work with a Brighton season ticket holder who refers to us as scummers, clearly Palace are their rivals but some of them definitely don't like us. He is quite old school was there in 86 cup game so might go back to then. Reading and Bournemouth had a bit of a rivalry going on in league one when I went to that fixture in 2002 so might give the bucket rattlers someone else to hate if they come up. We definitely need games with the edge of a rivalry as games at St Marys are so stale and sterile now, on that basis I don't mind Brighton coming up.
  14. I hate it went block 43 is open especially against big teams, reminds me of the sort of fans that go in the neutral bit at Fulham, we are becoming like that. There's such an air of disinterest amongst so many of our fans, no passion or atmosphere, the whole experience is getting worse. I do miss our league one days, seeing the love in for the skates on social media taking 4500 to Notts County today whilst we f@ck around with tiny allocations at Chelsea and Liverpool (you just know our support will be horrific at Anfield) can see why people are losing interest. Even our European night atmospheres were poor, sad state of affairs.
  15. Having seen how poor Chelsea were today at Old Trafford I'm actually feeling much more confident about this game so will go for just a 1-0 defeat. The pressure is definitely on them now if Spurs keep up the run of wins they might struggle.
  16. When the Premier League announced that away tickers would be capped at £30 this season I thought we'd see an improvement in our away support and start taking bigger allocations everywhere but it's actually got worse. taking 983 tiny allocation is pitiful for Liverpool especially when over 100 of them were classed as "restricted view" or "severely restricted view" , we should only have to sell those once we'd had access to a bigger allocation of normal seats. We sold out with 3 and half weeks before the game, clearly enough time to sell more. I think the same with Chelsea, sold out early yet took small allocation, in both cases the home side will sell the seats to their own fans for twice the price.
  17. It is sold out now, it will be an absolute joke if we don't take more tickets with over 3 weeks to go until the game. I think it is also a joke that fans have to buy severely restricted view tickets in the corner of the stand to get that bit to sell out before they open up a block with a much better view, hopefully they'll let those fans swop tickets, restricted view should only be sold once all the normal seats we are entitled to have been sold first.
  18. Hope Man Utd go through against Anderlecht, having a Europa league semi final on 4th and 11th will distract them as well plus the travelling will make it difficult for them in May, tiredness and injuries will add up. Our players should want to get one over them after the cup final defeat.

    Academy players

As he played for our u18s would you include Jack Stephens in that list on the basis some of his football education was gained in the academy despite signing from Plymouth?

    Arsenal

on that basis the games against Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal are all 6 pointers. joking aside the last time Spurs finished above Arsenal was 1994/95 which funny enough is the same for us so we are due a season above them , possibly next year in their post-Wenger turbulence when they appoint Bruce Rioch as his successor.
  21. Agreed, psychologically the title is over so it depends on whether they can focus on the fight for a top 4 place, which they should still get even if they lose a few games before the end of the season with Arsenal imploding and Man United with fixture congestion and a tough run in. It helped us last year playing man city while they had the distraction of the champions league semi final, shame they lost to Monaco in the last round
  22. yeah I agree for a 5.30 Saturday game they'll be noisy enough, their 2500 allocation is sold out but was on general sale for a while which shows despite their big home crowds they are not in the same league as others with genuine big fanbases. Despite paying £20 instead of last year's £42 I don't think any team has brought more fans than the previous year. It does make it strange in the Northam with the whole away end stood, usual home end stood then block 43 stuck in the middle mostly sat down.
  23. This game is virtually sold out just about 100 tickets left in block 43 that was surprisingly sent back by Man City (£20 tickets you'd have thought they'd bring more) will be interesting to see if any of our injured players feature tonight at St Marys in the u23s against Liverpool on their way back to fitness. Going to miss Romeu for this game , a big test for Stephens and Yoshida.
  24. Not that i believe much on here anyway. If Gabbiadini is still injured i can't see us scoring so hope for another 0-0 like last season. Missing Van Dijk, Romeu and Gabbiadini makes it really tough for us, plus Steven Davis will probably be out. You never know with West Brom, we're definitely capable of beating them, will have to take our chances though.
  25. IF we lost tonight and Hull beat Middlesbrough we will be far to close to the bottom 3 with a hard run in to come, plus key players injured. However if we win tonight we'll be up to 9th and are march to a top half finish will continue with the boost of Gabbiadini to come back in soon. Palace had a couple of defenders injured on Saturday, let's get at them and score some goals for once. Plenty of tickets left still, lovely sunny day outside can still buy online and print off your ticket hopefully we can get over 30k attendance.
