  1. I'm quite looking forward to it in a way. Being nostalgic for our league one days I look forward to watching some poor quality football in front of a sparse crowd. Can see us having Plymouth away on a Tuesday night, that will be one for the collection and separate the loyal fans from the fairweather. That said I am in agreement with Jackanory, the idea is doomed to failure and an insult to the club's in the two lowest divisions. We need to move away from the idea of clubs stock piling talent and make the u21 league better standard rather than messing with the league system. I'd hate to have B teams integrated into the league like they have in Germany.
  2. We are allowed to play 4 over - aged players in the rebranded JPT that Saints are entering this year so another good chance to give the likes of Gardos and Stephens more games, i think the current 4 centre backs are fine, plus Bertrand can fill in there as a back 5
  3. ha what a picture to use as well, good to know our fearsome rep goes before us and the local residents will be boarding up their houses prior to our arrival.
  4. Because we are still part of it and until Article 50 is activated and our establishment show they are prepared to actually leave i'm yet to be convinced we'll actually end up out of the EU.
  5. Thanks for posting on this threat Van Hanegem, interesting to read the Dutch perspective, hopefully the people there will also soon be able to show their dissatisfaction towards the EU and the corrupt bureaucrats who run it.

I agree with this, have got very little time for the England team and actually took some enjoyment watching Iceland win, a great bunch of lads playing for each other. I briefly got back into supporting England after the Lambert header v Scotland but lost interest again when our trio called up for the World Cup all left before the start of the tournament.
  7. I certainly won't be sad to see him go, a player with such a misguided impression of his worth who refused to play and showed huge disrespect to our football club at a time we were playing important games at the start of the season. He was then sent off 3 times missing a load more games through suspension.

Sounds worth a watch have you got a link? Good to see the English and Welsh standing together over there. I've always liked the Welsh and numbers are required when this Russian mob are going round attacking fans in this manner.
  9. agree, and at least when we play Leicester and Man City away they would have also been involved in European football midweek to help balance it. Man United away first trip, will be nice to take advantage of the new capped ticket prices rather than the £47-£50 we usually get charged up there, and we're one of the first few teams to visit the Olympic Stadium, hopefully while West Ham are struggling to adapt to the new surroundings. Swansea and Stoke midweek will be poorly attended i think.

it also makes me sick seeing these lads made scapegoats in a French court being handed custodial sentences for throwing a plastic cup, where all around them the French ultras wonder off scot free having attacked them, the French police pick up a few stragglers as easy pickings and parade them in court. One of the England lads even says he was being attacked by the Russians, he'd have been better off going down and taking a kicking rather than fight back and land himself with 2 months in a Marseille prison. Disgusting that the press are not questioning this and just reporting it as a matter of course. Free the Marseille 6. Hope they all return home safely.
  11. if you are going to spend that sort of money on transfer fees they'll have to offer the wages to go with it, they certainly don't have the turnover to cover that so putting all their eggs in the basket of reliance on the new investor's generosity. Any idea why he did not take more than 50% of the shareholding?

The English Police have their own vested interests, if they come across footage (like Hampshire police did from Arnhem) they'll use it to get banning orders, despite the fact that a 30 sec clip is completely out of context and shows nothing of how the situation arose or who instigated it, bad luck if you are attacked and some catches you on film fighting back

much easier to nick drunk England fans for aimlessly throwing a bottle while staggering around than to round up an organised mob of trained Russian paramilitary carrying weapons, wearing gum shields fully skilled in MMA.

Anyone who follows European football would know France is not a pleasant place for away fans to travel, Spurs were victims of a nasty attack in Lyon a couple of seasons ago, Chelsea fans were repeatedly attacked by PSG and French police, Everton were button charged and had tear gas fired at them in Lille. I think a few of the naive saints fans on here will have quite a shock if they travel on our Europa tour. Locals starting trouble in Nice last night http://m.ultras-tifo.net/news/4375-news-fight-in-nice-saturday-night-11062016.html

  16. Do we know how they are going to select the 16 U21 teams to take part? I'm very much against the idea, it's opening the door to having teams in the lower leagues but it would be a dream week Pompey away in JPT Tuesday followed by Fenebache or Marseille away Thursday and Bournemouth away Sunday
  17. it doesn't really matter does it. Koeman said he would discuss he contract at the end of the season, he was offered to double his money at Everton and took it walking out on Saints.
  18. You're a f&cking kn0bhead wind up merchant who thrives on any event where having a pop at Saints or bigging up another club is an option. That article is a load of bullsheet speculation about what they could spend the minority owners money on. So far they've paid over the odds for a manager , we'll see how they get on keeping Stones and Lukaku (not that I rate Stones that highly) I'm pleased we'll have another game with some edge next season just a shame they are our traditional bogey team.
  19. It would be great if saints season ticket holders could get the TV sports package at a significant discount from Virgin Media, hope that announcement will follow shortly.
  20. It's hilarious, there's even a bit of a love in with Pompey fans on Facebook rushing to back up the scousers with comments like "of course scum are a small club, they're not even the biggest club in Hampshire when it comes to history and support" Anyway reminded me of this -
  21. Oh FFS I made the mistake this morning of clicking on the comments section on Facebook of BBC MOTD page asking for people's thoughts on Motson's comments, tons of Everton banging on about how much of a bigger club they are , with more fans , trophies , MONEY (funny how they like mentioning that now) with plenty of Skates jumping in with one saying 'Saints much smaller they could only get crowds of 5000 in league one' Probably hoping Everton will use that to become another Portsmyth. At the risk of sounding like Keegan I would love it if we beat them next season. We've got to be due a win at Goodison
  22. THAT is the Spirit of Southampton what a wonderful era that was as a Saints Fan and such a shame this statue wasn't allowed to remain , perhaps we could have kept it on the Kingsland side by the bike sheds
  23. But you don't seem to have learnt anything from past meltdowns, you're still doing it! a lot of the posters critical of the club seem to advocate spending more money without giving any reasonable business model of how this can happen without asking Kat to dip into her pocket
  24. Wasn't 'crab lungs' the weirdo who revelled in the meltdown a couple of years ago with the itk 'if you knew what I did it would make your eyes water" nonsense Got to feel sorry for people like him, the last couple of years must have been really tough.
  25. I agree, however he tries to paint it he is going for the money, if I see him wondering around Ocean Village in the next couple of weeks he'll be going for an unexpected swim. Better off without the greedy c*nt, our fans will be hoping De Boer gets the job so those orange wigs don't go to waste. Onwards and Upwards.
