  1. serious question - how much higher would the attendances be if the club had sold actual half season tickets at Christmas? (and not the final 10 does not count as there was no incentive to pay that when no discount or season ticket priviledges)
  2. There is one skate where I work who blames the FPPT / FA / FL for this completely and goes as far as saying they should help fund the admin while they get a new buyer as it was them who put them in this position in the first place by allowing Antonov to take over!
  3. in a way we need a prolonged spell of poor attentances to drive home the message that tickets are too expensive, i won't be going next year if we go up and they hit us with £40 prices
  4. Daily Echo have the story next to a couple opening chamapagne :-) http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/
  5. of FFS what is the site coming to, the skates are scum of the earth and should always be referred to as such, they are not nice people, can the apologists stop trying to make a case for them.

the ground is out of town but the shop / Ajax experience is in town.
  7. you weren't there for the minutes silence for Ted Bates in 2003 then?

There is loads to do there but depends what you're into, if the mrs likes Art go to Van Gogh and Rembrant museums, history go to Anne Frank house and the resistance museum, i went there in December and thought it was interesting, if your mrs is up for a laugh go to one of the "live sex shows" which are more comedy than seedy, look around the red light, go to the Ajax club shop by Rembrant square, upstairs is the Ajax experience / Museum, all the trophies and the history of the club well worth a look, also interaction where you can test your football skills, how hard your shot is. I did a boat trip on the canal one of those buses that turns into a boat not bad but bit of a rip off.
  9. By the end of this season we'd have had 14 home league games that were not on a traditional saturday 3pm kick off : Leeds – Saturday 5.20pm Birmingham – Sunday 3pm West Ham – Tuesday – 7.45pm Peterborough – Tuesday 7.45pm Hull – Tuesday 7.45pm Blackpool – Saturday 12.45pm Crystal Palace – (boxing day) 1pm Bristol City – Friday 7.45pm Leicester City – Monday – 7.45pm Cardiff City – Tuesday – 7.45pm Ipswich - Tuesday – 7.45pm Portsmouth – Saturday 1pm Reading – Friday 7.45pm Coventry - Saturday 12.30pm
  10. Exactly, Derby away was a big game at the time with them near the top, crowd of 33,010 turned up for it, we won't get close to that.
  11. that's because it has not been moved for tv. it was brought forward to a 1pm kick off on the saturday on police advice which is where it has stayed, i heard the game would not be moved to the sunday and Palace away being on the monday still confirms that, which left possibilities of saturday lunchtime or good friday spots, looks like the tv companies going to give it a miss. once again though it won't be a saturday 3pm. this season we had no saturday 3pm HOME games from 18th November - 11th Feb, now will also not have them in April
  12. Nice looking gym. will this mean the players no longer use the David Lloyd? quite often spotted in there, at the pool / jacuzzi etc
  13. i quite like it, knock off work early or take a half day, get a few beers and the game on the friday night, and still have the whole weekend free for doing other stuff.
  14. Haha my Reading mate at work is not happy!!! They have already had their easter Monday game moved to Tuesday night away at Brighton and now have saints away on the Friday night of the same week!! 2 midweek away games in a week is a bit harsh, especially when they are what Reading would consider good , local days out on the beer. Tuesday 10th Brighton v Reading Friday 13th Saints v Reading On the other hand we have Palace away on the Monday 9th so have an extra days preparation. I notice Reading v Leeds has been moved as well to good Friday for tv, so assume our game v Skates is staying on the Saturday for now?
  15. Also good to see Benali in with the away fans last night getting behind the lads.
  16. would be good to see some videos of our support taken from the home end, thought it was good last night. Guly was dreadful and should be dropped. Sharp does look a bit overweight and no real pace, needs to "sharpen up" rest of the team looked good i think, back for operating well, to often we were just knocking it around only to end up doing the same floated cross into the box which west ham coped with easily.
  17. other tip is only sing millwall songs to them in the ground, but don't do it in the queue for the tube!
  18. I think you could be right on that one Turkish mate, the trend I have found at football over the last five years is not for racism to be on the increase, but the amount of tasty totty!! I for one welcome this addition to our fanbase and it certainly adds a nice distraction to a dull game having top notch crumpet on show, the cold weather recently has reduced the amount of cleavage on display but I reckon our run in could see the temperatures soaring at home to Skates, Reading and Cov in April. Which stand do other posters think is best for leering at loverly ladies?
  19. and also why not use the same law that applies to that then? why have a law re: being drunk in a football ground
  20. but with that what is your definition of drunk? for him they claimed he was unsteady on his feet, slurred speech and smelt heavily of intoxicant, how can you defend yourself against that? it is based on the opinion of coppers some of which are happy to bend the rules to get a conviction. for someones breath to have the smell of beer, inside a venue that sells.......guess what? Beer!!
  21. to add to that, even though the police had taken him to a station they did not breathalise him depsite having the apparatus available, again - why not? if it was a drink driving offence they would, but they knew they wanted to created a situation of a football fans word against theirs.
  22. it is designed to treat football fans like 2nd class citizens, there are already existing laws the police can use, drunk and disorderly and drunk and incapable if they want to, but they created an additional crime of being drunk in a football crowd purely as it allows them to target people with a low evidence threshold. you can go to rubgy and cricket and they practically encourage you to pour beer down your neck all day. i know of someone personally who was arrested and taken to court for being drunk in a football ground at an away game last year. he pleaded not guilty, the old bill lost cctv, lost the custody suite video, but the magistrate still convicted based on statements of 3 officers who lied about the extent of intoxication, that lad now has a 3 year banning order. it is not against the law to be drunk walking down the street but it is when entering a football ground - why? this should be like a nightclub with the stewards allowed to eject or refuse entry, but to make it an arrestable offence shows how stupid the law is
  23. Those of you criticising MP Penny are a bit naive, there is a long history of the skates and politics mixing, just search in google for Docker Hughes who stood for election in 1987 for the 657!!
  24. the way i see coppers treating football fans i'm not surprised when stuff like this happens, no sympathy with the old bill.
  25. look at the factors: - up North, cold wintery weather - ground we have played at loads of times before - got watford away the week before a lot will be doing - LIVE ON SKY - £36 a match ticket - Late kick off. Yep, i reckon about 500
