I think you should always play your most talented and best player. I'd play him with Lambert rather than Saga who has not impressed for some time.

But they have a new manager (which apart from Saints always means a win) and they still have some of the same players that won 7-1 away to Norwich. It wont be as easy as some on here think but i will go for a Saints win 3-2.

Saints dominated the game and should have won this game easily. Not enough width but thought some good performances from Thomas, Harding, Hammond, Lallana and Lambert. One thing that shocked me a bit was Paterson looking knackered and unfit shortly after coming on as sub???? Stockport were a very poor side and only looked dangerous with their corners which Saints struggled to clear at times. Saints players were a class above Stockport but seem to lack that killer instinct to kill off the game as usual. I think we will be fine if a few new players come in to play out wide and a striker with some pace to play alongside lambert. Was too far away to judge the penalty decisions but you just knew the ref would try to even things up at the end.

Lallana played well today.
