  1. My memories of the game were that Huddersfield were more stronger, fitter, determined, faster and physical than Saints. It was similar to last season with Davis keeping the score down with his heroics. Lambert workerd hard and is not lazy like some poster stated on another thread. We need width/pace to supply Lambert and co and i don't think we have enough quality in these wide positions. Thomson/james on the right are not the answer,Lallana is not a winger and i don't understand why so many people rate Holmes? Hopefully AP will have seen how ****e Wotton is and get in a replacement for central midfield. Best thing about yesterday was the real ales in the Grove pub.
  2. It's not like Colin to winge/moan/cry :-)
  3. If he lost both legs he'd still be quicker and more skillful than Wotton.
  4. More physical presence as i worry we might get out muscled by some teams in this league. Centre half Midfielder Left winger Striker
  5. You need to meet us to ensure a Saints win eric. Head of Steam/Kings Head.
  6. Bell should not be anywhere near the team. He's never made runs when it's really mattered and has not got the bottle for test match cricket. Struggling to think of replacements though but i'd go for this line up. I've picked Harmison even though he was poor but he is still capable of taking wickets with his extra pace/bounce which the others apart from Freddie can't do if the ball is not swinging there's no chance of getting 20 wickets to win the test. Strauss Cook Key Collingwood Trott Prior Flintoff Broad Swann Andersen Harmison
  7. Lallana 3 6 4th 3rd
  8. Matt Holland released by Charlton and was on trial with Colchester. Age 35 but still hundred times better player than Wotton and would help the youngsters in this league.
  9. Things could get worse seeing as they owe the Inland Revenue 13 Million.
  10. We're doomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pardew out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he's had long enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring back Lowe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring back Branfoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. The metrolink trams do not go to Stockport. Actually it's not running at all through Manchester city centre at the moment due to track repairs. 192 bus from Manchester Piccadilly or plenty of trains out of Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport. Stockport has plenty of decent pubs not too far from the ground. Obviously Manchester has a better nightlife and more bars if you want to drink there before/after game.
  12. I don't think i've ever been more affected/upset by a non Saints football person passing away. True football legend and gentleman. One memory sticks in my mind about how respected he was when i was up in Newcastle out in a busy city centre pub after Newcastle Saints game when the whole pub went silent when Sir Bobby Robson was being interviewed on tv. RIP
  13. The wembley of the north :-) Recommend the local pubs for a nice pint of Robinsons bitter.
  14. I've been there but it was an evening league cup game with saints back in the early 90's when the ground only had 3 sides and we had a pint on the way over the pennines somewhere i can't remember. Bound to be plenty of boozers in town. I hope to be there before 12 on the train.
  15. Apart from Wotton he is the worst player i've seen for a long time play for Saints and i'm old enough to have seen Steve Baker, Lee Todd, Keith Cassells.
  16. If Wooton and Pullis are in central midfield then Saints will lose every game. Hopefully Pardew has now seen how crap they are and will get some replacements in.
  17. Wrong. He played in the championship for Saints until January and left soon after Coles was sacked.
  18. Mick Channon played for Pompey. He's still a hero to me.
  19. Donkey Powell available :-)
  20. Thought it would be difficult for Cavendish to repeat last years 4 stage wins but 6 was amazing. Lets hope he gets more than 4 seconds coverage during the sports personality awards now. Although Cav was brilliant i will remember this tour for Wiggins being up there with the top climbers/GC Riders all tour. Just hope he now concentrates on road racing rather than track as i can see him winning maybe swiss/spanish tour and get a podium finish in france next year if he continues to improve.
  21. Mark Cavendish Bradley Wiggins
  22. Wimbledon circa 1980/90's :-(
  23. Yes but he is league 2 and conference standard at best.
  24. Some good odds with William Hill. Jim Furyk 35/1 Angel Cabrera 66/1 David Duval 100/1 Todd Hamilton 250/1
  25. My main problem with Wotton is his lack of footballing ability.
