Ashes Second Test - Lord's, 16-20 July

No point in picking Bell end. Might as well play extra bowler who will probably score as many runs if not more. -
Not seen a decent corner kick from Saints since Jermaine Wright left.

Only saw highlights but looked like England's bowlers were poor. They didn't seem to know not to give Hughes any width??? I've been a critic of Harmison in the past but we need him back for Lords to give the Aussie's a bit of hostile bowling which Hughes obviously dosen't like. -

You wouldn't see Geoffrey (no fours before lunch) Boycott trying that shot. In fact you wouldn't see him trying to hit a four full stop. -
Your right about about the intermediate stages/points but i think Cavendish looks leaner and fitter this year and wants to be winning a sprint finish in Paris.
-
All the best Kelvin and thanks for your efforts. Only player last season who seemed to care and want to play for Saints.
-
Two great wins from Cavendish. Thought he'd struggle to repeat last years four wins but he looks unbeatable in a sprint finish and a good bet for the Green jersey if he can get through the mountain stages ok.
-
Great signing by old red nose. Owen is only 29 and if he stays injury free is still a great striker/goal scorer for both club and country. I hope he has a great season and makes the England squad for South Africa.

I'm amazed that you know how to turn a computer on.

Did you watch the game? he hardley choked. Was just outplayed by Roddick on the day who produced his best tennis for years. Don't understand why British people hate our more successfull sportsman so much? He's 22 years old and no3 in the world and will win a grand slam event in the near future. Re anti English coments, it was a tonge in cheek comment made by an experienced young player several years ago and exploited by our lovely media who also love to give British sports stars stick at any opportunity.

They are not fans just sad tossers.

Starts saturday. Favourite sporting event of the year. Anyone else looking forward to it? Not sure about Yellow jersey but Cavendish has a chance for the Green and Millar/Wiggins in the team and individual time trials.
-
Any bids for Wotton yet?

'King/Food for thought' was UB40's first single. 'One in Ten' their 5th.

They are the only thing to come out of Cov. Top band BTW.

Only just seen this. What a stupid decision. Whatever people think of the merits of having membership? it gives the club income. It was bad enough a few seasons back when no renewal forms were sent out. Does anyone know who made this decision?

Spot on there. Don't understand why people question Flintoff's place in the team. He is the best bowler in the team and has proved this on numerous occassions. England need him playing at 6 or 7 with Prior and to play 5 bowlers in order to win back the Ashes.
-
To be fair to Prior he has scored 1065 test runs from 18 matches at an average of 48.40. Foster is a good wicket keeper which he showed in the 20/20 world cup but his lack of runs and inablity to hit boundaries at the end of innings cost England IMO.
-
Did well at Oldham with no money. Took Palace from bottom to play off final win. Dismissed after short spell at Charlton who copied Saints 4 managers = relegation season. Short spell at Cov and QPR when he was not given long enough. Highly respected manager/coach hence reason Shearer chose him as his assistant.
