  1. More or less what I was told last week.
  2. Still the best football programme on TV.
  3. Two excellent points. If we were offered a trading agreement with the EU, I would 100% vote out in a referendum. I hate the fact that time and again our elected representatives are hamstrung by EU legislation. Having said that, it's not all bad. The Social Chapter at least offered protection to workers that we didn't have before. If the Tories had their way, workers wouldn't have any protection at all.
  4. Yes they do. Check out their website, I think they do a kettlebell class as well.
  5. Been at Pure since it opened. It's good value for money, but absolutely rammed in the evenings.
  6. Was playing golf with someone who's had a conversation or two with Shaw's dad. From what I hear, he's very happy here and in no rush at all to leave. Would love him to stay for a season or two yet. Would be great to get a season or two out of him showing the same sort of form that Bale showed last season for Spurs.
  7. I would imagine you'd struggle to get even a w*nk from Dot Cotton. Lower your expectations.
  8. Couldn't get 16kg, got 12kg. Should be heavy enough after a few reps. If I do the 300 a day, what sort of sets should this comprise of?
  9. I prefer a CEO that is quiet. Better than an egomaniac who loves being on telly or in the papers.
  10. Very good footballer who we played out of position. Hope he wins his health battle.
  11. I'm pretty middle of the road, but agree with most of what you say. Large government can be bad, but a fair few privatisations in this country have led to shoddy over-priced services, with little of the competition that is supposed to benefit the consumer, and large profits being taken out of the country. The Polish and other economic migrants have proved that hard workers can find work. I'm not too sure how many of the unemployed come into the 'hard worker' category. I do have huge sympathy with those who are out of work through no fault of their own and are unable to secure employment. It is these people, as well as the mentally and physically disabled who should be well looked after. Not the feckless workshy.
  12. I bow to the obvious expertise on this thread. But, why has it taken so long to come to this conclusion? It seems to me that this is no more than a mathematical theory, based in part, on one or two assumptions. I'm still not convinced we are being told the whole story.
  13. Nice one, cheers.
  14. What weight of kettle bell will I need. 6ft tall and about 103kgs. Average level of fitness. cheers for the advice.
  15. Actually made it to the gym today. Worked my nuts off on a full body weights circuit and thought I was going to pass out at the end. Felt good a bit later though. Going to give the 5:2 a go. Few bowls of porridge with water instead of milk should be easy enough to stick to for a couple of days a week.
  16. Good shout.
  17. Fair point. I remember us beating Man Utd at home under WGS. He made 3 substitutions, and commented afterwards that it was a 14 player game. Can see what he means now. With our high energy game, almost all games are now 14 player games. Whether the manager has the quality he needs on the bench is another question though. Personally, I think Gallagher could have been introduced earlier today. Poor old Rickie was blowing out of his arse after an hour.
  18. Great manager. Might have a Plan B in place if we have a deeper squad with the required types of players. We have had a great season. Finishing 9th would be a superb achievement in my book. Then look forward to more improvement next season. I'd give him a 5 year deal tomorrow if it was up to me. Only real problem I have with him is the still speaking Spanish in interviews.
  19. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it was a stupid free-kick to give away. The defender was under pressure, facing his own goal, and a pointless challenge later we're defending on the edge of our box. I thought apart from that Ramirez was very good when he came on. Manager can't rate young Gallagher much. It was obvious to me that Rickie was blowing out of his arse after 65 minutes and made a lot of mistakes due to his fatigue. Lovren hasn't found any sort of form since his injury. We got out-worked today by Spurs. Doesn't happen too often.
  20. Made my blood boil Allardyce moaning about yesterday's ref on MOTD. I reckon he got the decisions right, and it's not easy to ref the diving cheating hammers.
  21. As long as the rail seats are properly stewarded, so everyone has their allocated space to themselves, I don't see the problem.
  22. Voted Labour all my life, but even I am having to have to have a real think before voting for that odious pair Milliband and Balls. If David got in, and bought James Purnell back into the front line, and replaced the hapless Balls with his missus, a Labour landslide would be all but guaranteed.
  23. Lallana looks like Del Boy with that coat on.
  24. Agreed. His current form is poor, but he has the ability to bounce back.
  25. Some people spend far too much time on here. Makes you wander how empty their real lives outside the internet are.
