  1. Is it almost certain that Coutinho will leave though ? Can't help but think that having publicly failed to sign Keita, if they also lose Coutinho then signing VVD at whatever the cost is suddenly the best face saving option for them.
  2. Wouldn't be bothered about VVD p!sssing off for £70m*if we could bring in a quality replacement such as Hoedt or Christensen from Chelsea for a fraction of the fee, and have some over for a couple of other decent recruits. *but not to Liverpool.
  3. About 18m Euros from recollection.
  4. Saw this on the BBC Gossip page: Can't see us buying at that sort of price.
  5. Subject to Cedric, and VVD coming back into the fold I suspect you could be correct. There are a few known weaknesses though, MF - apar from Romeu - looks weak, and I'm not convinced we can afford the luxury of both Tadic and Boufal on the pitch at the same time. Then of course, there's the GK issue - FF is questionable, and not sure we should rely on the other two as back up.
  6. Exactly. If Roma really wanted to take the p!ss they'd put up a picture of Dani Osvaldo and ask Sibley, "remind us, how much did you pay us for him ?"
  7. Care to explain ???
  8. At 29 you would have expected him to have mastered that, especially as an international.
  9. Ridiculous.
  10. Unfortunately I think not being able to attract Tuchel underlines that we're not as attractive a proposition as we have been, or we lack the ambitious leadership to sell the club to him. De Boer is more difficult to comment on, and we'll never really know whether we or Palace got our "first choice". (possible that we both did of course, but doubtful).
  11. Perhaps the taxpayer is making up the other half.
  12. Don't forget that the Cortese Black Box also brought us, Gaston,Gazzaniga, Mayuka and Forren. Then the MoPo- Cortese version also landed Osvaldo. That said, inclined to agree that the recruitment hasn't been that impressive in the last couple of seasons.
  13. He was a liability last season. If that wasn't on Reed's radar then you have to wonder how he can bury his head in the sand.
  14. A little disappointed if we don't bring one or two upgrades in , GK in particular, but not as disappointed as I will be if we allow VVD to leave and then fill the squad with below average journeymen.
  15. How do we end up in an almost East Midlands group?
  16. Do we need another midget?
  17. We need a competent Gk who can come off his line and use his hands to make saves.
  18. In Rooney's case it must be a bit like being married to Colleen, your teenage sweetheart, but still ****ging hookers in hotels, and grandmother aged prostitutes as well I suppose.
  19. Relative in midlands says Wolves are looking at him, presumably a loan.
  20. Have to wonder if Rooney is a Koeman signing and a player he wants, or a Kenwright/Moshiri status signing. Will be interesting to watch how Koeman manages such a big name and ego. Apart from Rooney though Everton have made some shrewd signings, hopefully that c^nt will destabilise any spirit in the dressing room.
  21. This for me is bizarre. FF was a liability for much of last season and one of the key positions that need strengthening. Even without his 'moments' we need a GK who is more agile, commands the penalty area and can make routine saves. Anoying that we baulked at paying the £ wanted for Butland and signed Gazzaniga instead (But we spent big on Gaston Ramirez the same summer).
  22. If you are allowed the following I'll raise you Hugh Fisher. Probably not a "cult hero" as we started out looking for but fits in with the next band of widely popular with a bit of a following at the time and remembered warmly. Fisher was also a bit of a whipping boy at one stage and his name on the team sheet met with groans and often sarcastic cheers when he did something on the pitch. But before his injury he was an integral part of the Alehouse midfield. And he has a place in history with his goal against Villa at The Dell in 1976.
  23. I don't know enough about Stuart Armstrong to be fussed whether we sign him or not. But seeing that I've suddenly warmed to the idea, just to p!ss Brenda off.
  24. Another read about him. http://saintsmarching.com/2017/07/04/caens-yann-karamoh-good-fit-southampton/ Contains this:
