Lallana Voted 2nd Best Young Player By Premier Managers
Badger replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
First place ..to Luke Shaw then ? -
Looks like "fantasy island" stuff. I just can't see the ground as shown there happening, let alone the redvelopment of the estate and waterfront around it. Southampton City Council have consistantly failed the city in the planning/development stakes and would never be so imaginative in seeing this scheme through. A few squat flats for eastern european migrants is more likely.

Easter weekend

Interesting looking at form tables, but another factor is the 'blank Saturday' to bugger up any momentum which can work either for or against you. If we beat L/pool, then ideally it would be better to get in to the next match asap.
-
I expect we'll be aiming higher than 'top 6', surely we'll want automatic promotion to avoid the play-offs ?
-
Unless both need only a draw to stay up perhaps.
-
Wigan - are experienced at pulling out of this, and with momentum etc from a cup run, will probably escape Villa - after yesterday, their next game I think is home to QPR, doubt they will be as obliging as we were against them So for me its , sad to say, but us, and Reading. Plus one other hopefully QPR. Perhaps Sunderland, but how long will their dire form continue ? Probably until they play us up there.

Who would we be higher under, Adkins or Pochettino?
Badger replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Impossible to say, but gut reaction is that we were on the right lines with NA and had started getting some important points. Although impossible to judge over the last seven games, I am convinced that we would be in a better position in two or more years time with NA, had we (Cortese) afforded him the time he deserved. Instead we will probably have at least one more managerial upheaval in that time, with all the disruption it brings. MP,unfortunately for him, is a short term solution. -
Norwich City 0-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

No point dwelling on the penalty, it was saved so did not cost us. What bothers me is our inept finishing, according to BBC, 15 shots,7 on target. -

The late penalty save makes it a point gained. But in trutyh this is two points dropped in the quest for European football. C^ntese will not be happy. Sort it out quickly MP , or you'll be on your bike. -
The Boruc you see now is a lot leaner than the porker that signed for us in October. He was not, or did not appear fit at that stage. My critiscism is that he was put in to a game too soon, ie West Ham away, whereas Leeds in the Cup might have been a more sensible option. My main critiscism is that the GK position should have been sorted in the summer(as with CB).
-
but would be a major loss in midfield if we move him back, especially with Davis injured.
-
I thought he was meant to have performed well there v Stoke away.
-
New central defence needed last summer tbh.
-
Newcastle at home disproves your theory. Need a new excuse. At what stage of the game will Hooiveld score an OG today ? Sweepstake perhaps, I'll go for 57 minutes.
-
Kiss of death !
-
Go on then mock up the reverese red/white combination - you know you really want to.
-
That's not bad, much improved on the current abortion anyway. I remember a few years ago though, someone on here posted that red sleeves = relegation.
-
Wonder how many managers KD will work under in the duration of his new contract. Oh well done KD !
-
No. Exactly. I think I'd rather have the £6m Lambert who took the penalty at Viila Park for us in the team, than the highly rated buffoon you named here, who on the same afternoon managed to spoon everything over the bar.
-
Wayne Thomas might have stopped that little f^cker Remy in his tracks on the way to their first goal on Saturday, make no mistake.
-
And we miss Hammond's drive and captaincy in midfield...
-
or "mutual consent" them...
-
A sentiment first seen on here, afternoon of 18th January 2013 to be honest, albeit one expressed by a few in anger.
-
really ? Didn't build the Chelsea side that won the Champions League, this is conveniently overlooked.
