Indeed- and of course hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard!?!?!?!?

Listen, Nigel has done a magnificent job since he has been in the building, at this magnificent football club, it's as simple as that. I'm not going to hide away from it, we as saints fans all have a smile on face, and are all pulling in the same direction. At the end of the day we all have the same common goal! We are winning games of football, with our group of honest hardworking players. Together as one! Ps. He is doing a great job, and comes across as a great bloke. Edit- Sorry, could have left some for other people ;D

Totally agree on both points.
-
Fair point, but it could also be argued that our stripes were designed c90 years ago and only the collar, width of stripes change. Whatever we end up with it is likely to be a reworking of something that has gone before.
-
Superb. Yet again I suspect Gecko has designed something better than we will end up with from Umbro. No need however for the red block on the back of the home kit if the lettering/number is black. Away shirt excellent. Gecko, get emailing the club and send them a couple of your badge designs whilst at it.

Assuming Ted Bates is not a signing, and signing youth players ie Paine are not included then : 1)KK - a signing that shook the world 2)Alan Ball - took the gospel according to Lawrie onto the pitch, promotion and competing with the best followed 3)Ron Davies - what would he be worth now ? The above are runaway leaders - although the following would be in my top 10, but don't have time to put them in order of preference: 4)Jimmy Gabriel - inspired signing who stabilised the defence and kept us up 5)John McGrath - as Gabriel 6)Brian O'Neil - most 'combative' midfielder I've seen for Saints. He - with helped from the two above, and Fisher - created 'The Alehouse'. 7)Ivan Golac - the best import ever 8 Jimmy Case - took over from Ball (£20,000 !!!) 9)Peter Rodrigues 10) Pahars - possibly shades it from other recent signings as he seemed to inspire us at a desperate time, without which we'd have dropped out of the Premiership and St Mary's might never have happened. Agree that David Armstrong,Niemi, and Michael Svennson are worthy of a mention.

Doppelganger

Best full backs ever for us.
-
1)Colin Clarke 2)Graham Baker 3)Terry Paine 4)Ivan Golac 5)Budgie 6)Charlie George 7)Hugh Fisher and Paul Gilchrist.

B0ll0cks. He won't be on anything like that at Reading.
-
Ditto. Just wonder how much is this worth to us. Logo is certainly crap.
-
Actually I think we are pretty vulnerable where goalkeepers are concerned. We have KD...AND THEN ? BB is injured so Foecast is currently next in line. Agree with you about a MF though.I still think Oakley CDAJFU.
-
Conventional stripes, or Keegan era get my vote. As for the away kit, yellow(or amber) and black should be brought back ( last worn c1972). Don't mind the sky/navy kit either, especially if in the KK era style.

Darren Potter Played for us on loan from Liverpool. Was touted as the "next Steven Gerrard" by some Now at Sheff Weds and is usually crap....so likely to play a blinder against us on Saturday. Oh, and his surname is also Potter in case no one had noticed.
-
Certainly worth considering. No doubt many would have dismissed Steve Guppy's chances after he failed the first time at Saints.
-
But can anyone answer the above ? I'm not sure BH matches what we are currently looking for.
-
Quick, everyone on to Twitter..
-
Isn't Howard more of a wide MF player than the central role we are currently after ?
-
Not confusing him with Jermaine Wright are you ?
-
Not at a suggested £40,000 a week he isn't.

Thinking of former Sheffield Utd midfielders, what has become of Michael Tonge ? Does not seem to feature at Stoke much these days. I expect the signing is more likely to be a Arsenal/Liverpool/Chelsea youngster than a proven player though.
