  1. Yes its a rag, but in their defence I browsed at an edition of the People in our local supermarket in 2001 to see a most unlikely suggestion on the transfer rumours page that Gordon Strachan was to take over at Saints. Well thats a load of ******** I thought. Same evening, Gray was announced sacked, and fifteen minutes later teletext said WGS was at the helm. On the topic of Alan Nixon though, didn't we have some issues with him on his reporting about Saints some years ago ? Possibly in the WGS to Leeds fortnight .
  2. Nothing to suggest another GK is not called for in the next couple of days then.
  3. Don't think NA "fobbed them off" , but questions not as direct or penetrative as could have been asked. Solent do not really go for the 'killer' question though as they want to retain a cosy relationship with the club, and appearing to 'ruffle' NA or the club too much might lead to more restricted access to interview etc.
  4. On the contrary, just can't beat some good 1970's abuse...
  5. I too am getting thoroughly p!ssed off at threads going off at a tangent due to various posters and their detractors repeating their ongoing debates - which have f^ck all to do with the topic...whether its Hooper or whatever else. Anyway only a few frantic days of the window left*. then it will be a "why we did not sign [insert one of several names]this window " threads, populated by...

  7. My last visit was to Hulse Road as we were moving from the Dell. It was on its knnes at that stage, the move from The Dell probably deprived it of its last big payday which only happening every other week did not bode well.
  8. ? or WTF ?
  9. In which case we can put our interest on hold until the summer as well then.
  10. Good choice, assuming Huddersfield miss promotion again, but like Rhodes, they are unlikely to sell in Jan.
  11. I'm obviously missing out here as I've not had a dump at SMS. Trying to recall, but can't recollect ever having a sh!t at The Dell either. Worrying that after 40plus years of following Saints I can't be a real fan.
  12. ...and Rupert , possibly with Lawrie & Leon present as well.

  14. Yes. For this season we need a capable back up option for KD, and longer term we need to find his successor. Not convinced that Lewis is the right candidate though, towards the end of last season he had a run of games involving errors on a par with Bialkowski's Blackpool fiasco. Butland is a good nomination someone posted yesterday, although doubt Brum would be tempted to sell now. I would have said McCarthy at Reading but with their rumoured new owner they may not need to sell.

  16. I'd still like the quality goalscorer or striker we have been after since last summer. Hooper would be first choice but seemingly not available. Puncheon's return probably rules out Sordell. After that I would still like a CB and a GK , as injury to Kelvin leaves us needlessly up sh!t street in a panic.
  17. I've been a bit nomadic at SMS, sitting in all but the Chapel stands. Kingsland north/Northam corner has become home of late. East Stand at The Dell.
  18. I would have liked to have seen Dickson given a chance at LM in AL's absence.
  19. Good idea, but how long before it becomes a debate about us finishing 17th ?
  20. Has he got p!ssed and thrown out of a nightclub in Southampton yet ?

  22. Amidst all the clamour for a striker, and new CB - yes, both needed - I am still concerned about our GK options, and believe we need a reliable back up for Kelvin, if not a long term replacement.
  23. Where does the idea that they will sell at all come from ?
