I don’t agree he hides, he’s one of the ones that doesn’t. He just doesn’t get time & space because of his lack of pace. Passing the ball is a skill. Playing the wrong ball is a lack of intelligence, making the right pass badly is the lack of ability. His touch is good, his passing is ok but he’s limited by having no acceleration or movement when on the ball. He must be easy to play against because you can always get back in, he can never “leave you for dead”. I can see why managers pick him, not that I agree with it, but can see why. It’s the age old struggling managers trait. They know what they’ll get with him, he’ll hold his position defensively & follow instructions to the letter. It’s damning on other more talented players that he gets a game.

What sums up our pathetic attempt at attacking was our first corner (well I think it was, May have missed one first half but can’t remember one). Centre halves up, Prowse comes over and away fans wake up. What happens? Prowse plays it to Diallo (I think it was him, but could have been any of the useless twats), who knocks it back to his fucking left foot !!!! He then plays a left footed loopy nothing cross that is cleared easily. FFS get it in the fucking mixer, put them under pressure, we’re not fucking Barcelona.

Doubt it, he doesn’t fucking save anything that’s not routine (and he lets a fair few of them in as well). I can’t recall one save he’s made that he shouldn’t really have got to, not one. Other keepers make mistakes but make up for them by saving ones that should go in. This bloke lets the hard ones in and then a fair portion of easy ones as well. He’s unbelievably lucky to be playing in the Premier league.

What makes you so sure. Yesterday was just as bad as Jones and Chelsea was no better than Man C at home. Leeds last won a league game on bonfire night ffs, 10 games ago.

He’s an intelligent player, good positional sense and hasn’t got a bad touch. Would be decent in the French league or similar, but lacks the necessary strength & pace to play in England. Without both, You have to be exceptional over here & he’s clearly not.

This is the bottom line for me. Whilst it is too early to judge whether he’s the right man long term, what he has done is steadied the ship and calmed everything down. It looks like he’s bought the board time and ensured they don’t need to rush into a hasty appointment (which appeared the case with the American bloke).

Back in the saddle now after given all clear by Doc, and taken off blood thinners. Must say the alcohol free stuff tasted pretty good. Nanny State & Ghost ship my favourites, but it’s not drinking and you don’t get the buzz. Few Tanglefoots today, and I confidently predict I’m not giving up (unless doc tells me). The buzz just ain’t the same .

I remember going to Swindon in league 1 with my nipper who was about 8 at the time. Driving home he had a miserable face on him. I asked him what the issue was and he said “why do you make me support Southampton, they’re rubbish “. I told him he can support his local team or the team I support, but being a glory hunter was unfulfilling. I spent the journey talking about the away days we could go on, how winning something would mean so much more, how following the city your dad came from was something to be proud of and beating the top clubs occasionally would make you happier than winning every week. In 2023 Nathan Jones is a better manager than Nigel Adkins. Jones will manage in championship again, Adkins won’t. He finished, career over, FFS. Why are people banging on about him as if he’s some sort of Wenger type elder statesman.
