Australia ranked 38th in the world come out a group contains France & Denmark. Contrast with Wales ranked 19th, that’s how you attack the WC, not mince about “proud” to be there.

Was it Soggy questioning her, he’s got form on this….

Because it should be in one country imo.

I don’t think it should be in 3 countries, especially when 2 of them have held it 3 times between them before (for whatever reason). One thing Blatter did that was good was taking it to Africa, Far East, Eastern Europe & The Arab world (not saying the countries were right or the reason, but the principle) , . A world game needs to go to Australia, India (if they’re capable) & the elephant in the room China. They need to decide whether they give it to the best host country regardless of whether they’ve had it before, or spread it round the globe. Personally, I’m in favour of the latter.

Apart from Sir Alf nobody comes near his record. Sven - 3 quarter finals. Robson - didn’t qualify, quarter final, didn’t get out of group, semi final.

It’s nothing to do with The US and everything to do with FIFA trying to shoehorn more countries into the finals. Depends where you are. South Florida is football mad, Hispanics & Haitians loving the game. I’d imagine other areas with high immigrant areas will be as well. Mexico are having it for a third time which is just as bad. The ridiculous thing is sharing it out between 3 countries imo.

Men against boys. Wales stunk the tournament out, yet we’ll now have a load of old pony, how proud they should be and how great their supporters are.
-
Wales shouldn’t have left Bale out of this one…..
-
I don’t think it’s quite as easy as that.

Kane did, and Rashford fucked it up

It’s ok, VAR will decide the offside.

Fucking hell, I must be watching BBC Wales. The love in is fucking well over the top.
-
I hope we stuff these twats. Fucking nearly as annoying as Sweaties
-
When did this “match day 1”, “match day 2” become a thing in football. What a load of fucking old pony. The squeaky bird screeching “he scored on match day 1”. FFS, worse than calling it footy.

I’m glad people use it. It helps identify noddy supporters.

What a noddy, “footie”!!!!

My old man used to tell me that we should thank our lucky stars that we were born in a Western liberal democracy and if every country had values like ours the world would be a happier place. I used to find it a bit old fashioned, so it’s great that at 86 he’s back in tune with mainstream Britain.

We used to go round the world spreading our morals and beliefs, trying to impose them on other cultures (or as someone put it “educating the savages”) I thought this was supposed to be a bad thing, but now it appears not to be.

The same European countries that were happy to compete in the Peking Olympics, the Russian World Cup & countless other events held by awful regimes. There’s obviously a hierarchy of victims and Wokies have hit the jackpot this time. Gays & birds, right at the summit so they can get moralising & lecturing. Uyghurs? Fuck them, we’ll show the opening Olympic ceremony on TV , Tibet, bollocks to that. In 2006, Amnesty International reported that racism in Russia was "out of control.", where was that dopey bird’s armband then?

People should read his auto biography. It’s not the usual pony, he accepts what a twat he was prior to leaving The Feelgoods & his reaction to being given 9 months to live, pretty inspirational. I remember him being interviewed prior to his life saving op, when he did really think that was it, and he said the exact same stuff, so it wasn’t written with survivors hindsight. They were such a great band, they absolutely had it all in front of them, punks loved them, they could have been so much bigger when punk hit. But booze & Wilko’s issues got in the way and they became a decent journeyman band after he left. Down at The Doctors & milk and alcohol were ok, but the edge, danger and excitement exited with Wilko.

Sad news, but he got about a decade more than expected. They were never the same after he left. Although they had a brilliant singer & showman in Brilleaux, the songs weren’t as strong after Wilko & his guitar playing was pretty unique. Down by the jetty is a master piece of a debut album, up there with rocks finest. I was lucky enough to see him a couple of times, once in the late 80’s in a pretty small boozer where he was absolutely nuts. RIP, a real one off.
