  1. So where do you think the money from previous sales has gone? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. When I think of Walcott’s Arsenal career I’m always reminded of Shane Warnes analyst of Monty Panesar that “rather than having played 33 Tests, had merely played one, 33 times”. I’m not saying he’s not good enough for us, and god we certainly need a boost, but his game really hasn’t developed at all. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Slightly off subject . Just watching “No hunger in paradise” on BT sport, all about youth development . Reed on, comes over quite well. Mike Calvin states in the voice over that “The Southampton way” is giving potential a chance. That we are developing intelligent, technical, skilful , well rounded players. As an aside, Arsene Wenger incredibly impressive and absolutely spot on with his comments about the development of English players. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Poor today. The nipper up front for Forest looked a player. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. This is just ****ing nonsense. For one Pied & McQueen aren’t even in the “team” . How many starts have they made. If you’re going to list full backs, why not list the first choice, Bertrand & Cedric? They’re top 6 players, with full backs at that level the board need congratulating. Of course you have to name Pied & Mcqueen because listing our first choice pair undermines the pony you’re spouting . Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. It was earlier than that. I was at Anfield for his debut and people were moaning about him then. First ****ing game ffs Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Agreed. They’ve ruined TMS as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I want him to stay, because it'll mean we've picked up and had a decent Jan. I just get the impression that too many want him to fail to justify their opinions of him. Some of the vitriol is OTT. He's not a clown, an idiot, or clueless, he wasn't just plucked out of nowhere and given the job. He had a stellar playing career, a decent coaching grounding under Rafa and did a pretty good job in his previous role. Maybe he's wrong man, wrong place or not Premier league ready, but the lack of respect and hatred towards a honest and decent young manager is pretty poor form imo. At the moment I'm on the fence. Whether I want him out depends on who the replacement is. I'm defo not in the anybody but Pell camp. Of course when emotions are running high, I'd sack him. Which is why decisions need to be made with the emotion taken out of it. I'd like to know what the senior pros think, Davo & Yoshida, etc , like to know what his sessions are like, are they innovative and bright, what's he like with the nippers, does he put the hours in, is their a toxic feel to the dressing room that needs sorting. It's just to simplistic to call him useless or hopeless. There have been instances in the past where clubs and players needed sorting out, where managers take time to impose their will on a dysfunctional club. Is this one of those situations? Who knows, certainly not me. One thing is for sure, something wasn't quite right last year and something isn't right now. Only Les Reed knows whether that's a managerial issue or something far deeper. If he comes out of this, he'll learn a hell of a lot and become a better manager for it. 9. **** me, this place will really be in meltdown, if we beat Watford Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I thought we'd hit rock bottom in fan entailment last season, where 8th and a cup final is deemed not worthy of us. But no, now it's a 1-0 win in the cup after a tricky away tie. What on earths the matter with people. Any side in the premier league would have taken that today, any side. I get the feeling that deep down some are dissatisfied because we won. It's all about them being proved right and confirming the Managers a "clown ", rather than Saints progressing into the next round. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Are you for real. I'll hazard a guess what the secret is. ££££££££ Atletico Madrid with all their European titles, dozen or so La Liga and cup wins, champions league finalists with a stadium of over 60k why can't we be like them. Or Dortmund, they're like us , reduce their 80k stadium to 32k, forget about their 8 Bundesliga titles and their European success, and they're exactly like us. Napoli, we should be like them. We're a bit nearer to them than the other 2. They've only won their league twice and cup 5 times and only have 20 odd k higher capacity. I must have been missing something all along. Why on earth aren't we like these champions league clubs and paying champions league wages. I'm sure there's players out there attracted by playing in front of 32k instead of playing for the clubs you mention. Hell, you're even showing a bit of Dell sized mentality. Why stop at Dortmund , why can't we learn from Bayern or Real Madrid, they manage to keep their players. That Ronaldo , everyone wants him, but do they sell? No, unlike us they manage to keep their players. Reed out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Bad day for the handful of our customers that posted on the prematch thread that they hoped we'd lose. Didn't hear any cursing when we scored, so they either kept quiet or stayed at home. The only thing that matters in the cup is getting through to the next round, job done. Competent tactics and substitutions and a refreshing change to pick a proper team in the cup. Onwards and upwards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ashton has had a hard on for Cortese and Poch for years, don't believe a thing he writes about Reed or Kat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. **** me if we were trying to sign a striker whose had a patchy season with Birmingham City, people would be in absolute meltdown. I haven't got a clue who this Guido guy is, but I'd bet my life he's a better player than Sam Gallagher at this moment in time. I was at Anfield when Pelle got clog during his debut , but we've surpassed ourselves now, we're not writing people off after a couple of games, not after 1 game or even half a game, we're not even writing them off when they sign, we're writing them off before they sign. Perhaps we could arrange a lynch mob at the unveiling and boo him. "****ing useless lump, 0 goals in 0 games, not ****ing good enough". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Pied wasn’t poor against palace Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Anybody who pays £40 million for him & 140k a week is ****ing bonkers, if you ask me. Too much heart over head on this forum. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. ****ing heard it all now. City have always been a bigger club than us, even pre money. How old are you 11? They won a European trophy , 2league titles , 4 Fa cups , 2 league cups before the primer league existed, you plum Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. And isn’t it exactly what Marcus said the day he walked into the club. I maybe mistaken, as it’s a while ago, but wasn’t a sustainable self funding club his objective long term. Over spend to get us back into the big time, then gradually become self sufficient. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. We didn’t lose the club in 2006, or when Rupert came in, or any other random date in history. We never had the club in the first place, we’ve never been listened to, look how long it took for Branfoots removal. Even if you take it to the extreme and have fan ownership , it still won’t be “ours”, it’ll be a select few of the fan base. We are where we are , because that’s where we sit in the grand scheme of things. Around the middle of the top flight. Make good decisions, have a good season and we could be 5th, 6th, 7th make bad ones and we could be relegated. We’ve overachieved the past 4 years ( except in the cups, where forum gods Poch & Koeman certainly under achieved), it’s unreasonable to expect that to continue. It’s just not possible, people make mistakes in life, things go against you, others overachieve pushing you further down. The important thing is how you react to bad decisions, how you turn things round, thankfully we’re not fan owned because the reaction to adversity most on here are showing is ****ing pathetic. I don’t buy into the narrative that we’re complacent or incompetent. Well meaning decisions, not complacent ones have turned out to be wrong. Complacent implies, lazy uncaring. I bet Reed and co worked as hard with the Boufal signing as with Mane. I doubt for one minute they thought, it’s worked before, we’ll just sign him regardless. There was time and effort spent on due diligence, I don’t believe they just assumed that just because they’d identified him ,he’d be a hit. Reeds been in the game too long not to realise that it’s not an exact science. On paper Boufal looks every bit a good a signing as Mane. On paper and after the start he made, nobody would guess that Gabbi would struggle so much this season, on paper Lemina looks a good buy, as does Wes. Who would ever have believed The Mummy would be so abject, had we sold him to Liverpool at the same time as Mane, they’d have been another meltdown. On paper (and this won’t be popular) the young manager had just a good a pedigree as Poch. Clearly the games not played on paper, and I’d imagine long term Reed will end up paying the price for these (in hindsight) poor decisions. I know I’m waffling, but the point I’m trying to make is that nothing fundamentally changed the past 12 months. We sell our best players and we try and replace them with decent prospects, we don’t go down the Fat Sam or Davey Moyes managerial route, we do what we did previously. It worked before, it isn’t working at the moment, that’s life. It’s not some form of complacency, not Reeds ego going into overdrive, not some sort of money making scam by the Chinese, it’s not anything sinister. It’s just football and in football poor decisions, however well meaning or however good on paper, cost you. They cost the Chelsea’s & Liverpool’s of this world champions league places, they cost teams of our size relegation. I’m sure Reed & co are as worried about relegation as every single one of us. I’d imagine having all the facts and figures in front of him, wages & revenue wise, will keep him awake at night. If I ran the club, I’d have the manager out by now and Martin O’Neil & Roy Keane in situ. But I respect what Reeds done at this club, respect that he has a different opinion than mine ( and his counts). Any decision he makes will be made in the genuine belief it’s what is best for the club, let’s just hope it turns out to be the correct one. But to try and pin point a place in time or highlight a particular decision or policy shift where it all started to go wrong is ludicrous imo . Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. No. I’m hoping you have a bad day and the team you “support”, win. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. I suppose this was taken out of context as well? It’s simple, I want us to win Saturday, you don’t. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Yes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I know that, I was taking the ****. We’ve got a “supporter” ( or should I say customer) going to the game hoping we lose.....wtf is that all about? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Fingers crossed we lose Sat then. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
