  1. Exactly People should count the number of posters contributing to a thread, rather than the number of posts or pages. There's more arguments, & discussions when we lose. Why do people insist on thinking that others are quiet because we won, the implication being they're happier when we lose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I agree. It gets 2 up front without being out numbered in midfield. Long & Gabbi look a decent pairing to me. Although I'm a fan of the system I'm not a fan of switching during the season and our back 4 isn't really our issue, so why risk it. If we want 2 up top, an old fashioned 4-4-2 can work provided Long works hard defensively ( the role Okazaki played for Leicester) . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'd like to see Klopp's record up against Brenda's Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Let's see him next week against a decent side before wetting our pants. He was good today, but the space they gave him, particularly first half, my mum could have looked class. Utd next week, followed by tough battle at Stoke, we'll know a bit more after those Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Good away performance, tactically spot on. Best performance of the season by far, what a difference a week makes. We had a pattern of play & everybody knew their role. Long fantastic, the 2 centre halves excellent , Forster's best game for a long long time, Tadic similar . Davo & OR did well but Lemina clearly motm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Really? Sacking a bloke who got us to 8th & to a cup final in his first season isn't knee jerk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Exactly, no way Koeman would have had us 8th without those 3. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It was a toss up between that and FF & No goalie won Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Koeman' managerial career was pretty average prior to Saints,so maybe, just maybe, the set up & Les Reed contributed to his good seasons. I drank in a Dutch bar in Albufeira the summer we appointed him and the general consensus was that Pelle carried his Feyenoord side. Last season was the easy bit, now we'll see how good a coach he is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. There's going to be an attack on a football crowd one day, it's an obvious target. I'd imagine we'd be lower down the risk scale than a big London or Manchester club, but I share your concern. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The fact he couldn't get a game when we had Pelle in the side suggests that, either his crosses aren't as good as they're made out to be, or his weakness in other areas of the game are too great they cancel his crossing out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Gab Marcotti has always maintained that the season he had at Saints was the freak season. His form at Liverpool is exactly the same as it was at Lyon, average. His been consistent in this view since the day Liverpool signed him & other pundits were raving about the signing He was immense for us, poor form since & the signing of Toby & VvD have diluted that a bit. But maybe that really was a freak year for him. Right coach, right partner, right protection from CDM and right sized club for him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Are we still in the league cup then, I thought we lost to Wolves reserves Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The fact the goal was a peno and at the other end shows that it wasn't some sort of over exuberance like the Sterling one at Boscombe, indicates that there were elements of pre planning, showing off, & goading West Ham fans. Probably why they got extended ban. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. **** me, there's pony and then there's ashnats pony. He is an intelligent player, with a decent technique, touch & football brain. However, he is slow, weak and just can't impose his skills on the game. We binned Juanmi once this became apparent & im pretty sure we'd have binned JWP had he been a foreign signing. People who say he'll come good are running out of time imo . He's getting further & further away from becoming a regular. He really should be pushing Davo for a start but he's nowhere near. He was adequate last season in a wide right role, whether that was down to Claude's coaching (and before others start, plenty of players have praised his 1-1 coaching in the past), or whether it's down to that being his natural role is unclear. The only way to find out is to give him games and we just can't afford that. He needs to be playing week in week out. He clearly needs a loan, maybe to the championship or even France or Holland. At the moment he's just not good enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Didn't one bloke get away & jump back into the stands before legging it out the exit. Wonder if he's one of these and got identified later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Working in the public sector Mrs Duck is naturally a Remoaner, so I won't be discussing EU waste during our break. It'll only lead to an argument. She wants early Dec, but I reckon Jan looks better fixture wise. Apart from Spurs they're not that attractive till Brighton on 31st. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I agree, pre injury last season he was starting to look a decent centre forward. Once Puel stopped fannying around with him and played him straight down the middle he looked ok. Good strength, hold up play & his all round game looked better. Fitting him in with Gabbi is a tough one, maybe could Gabbi play in the 10 role. If he played the same role as Pelle and stayed fit, he'd score as many goals and do as good a job as Pelle did imo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. lol complaining about people coming up with "toffee" , then writing a whole sweet shops worth. Any links to moves for lallana, Fonte & Lambert. Any proof that Poch would have turned down Spurs? How do you prove we'd have recruited better, Osvaldo, Gaston, Forren, suggest not. Would Nicola have signed Mane, Pelle, VvD, because it's hard to recruit better than that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Fake news He lost 10 games out of the 22 he managed us in the PL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'm glad someone else heard that, as I couldn't quite believe it. I thought I must have misheard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I've looked at Cape Verde but the flights aren't that flexible & they tend to be midweek to midweek. My son & his wife went & said it was windy as hell. There and Gambia do appeal because of the flight time, price and time zones. All she wants is sun, so don't want to spend loads and don't fancy Canaries as we've done that lots of times Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Got to be the beach for the Mrs, she's obsessed with sunbathing. What's this sex tourism, is it desperate women after young fit African males, or something more pervy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. My Mrs keeps mithering me about taking her away for some winter sun. Obviously it's a delicate balancing act because if I just agree she'll book something up that coincides with a decent game. Therefore I've taken charge of the arrangements so I can plan it around football. Has anybody on here visited Gambia, and if so what's it like. I believe the weather is great Nov-March and the flights are pretty regular & not too far. If anybody has been I'd appreciate so feedback. Is it pretty safe, what's the food & drink like , price wise & standard, and would you recommend for a short break ? Any other suggestions would be greatly received.
