Bit harsh to blame the back room staff and contrast to last season. Doubt if victor would have played in cup had Poch been manager this year . MS and TA went to the world cup, so that may have affected things. You can only look at long term trends, way too early to judge.
-
Lucas was on Westminster hour last week and used that line " long term aspiration , but not in manifesto" for every policy she was asked about . Going to be a bloomin small document their manifesto.

Sat in the kingsland I was too far away to really see if it was a red. Looking at that posted on here , it could have gone either way. To overturn a red it needs to be a clear error, that's not a clear error.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-1 Swansea
Lord Duckhunter replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Most depressing result of the season, particularly with the other results. However, I guess the win at OT gave us a buffer which meant we are still 4th just. Wonder what the people who thought it was good for us that arsenal beat city are thinking this morning. As for the game, lack of fire power first half and a poor second half cost us. I haven't watched any highlights but my gut feeling from my seat was that the keeper should be saving that . Too far away to see whether it was red , but when you go in like that you give these chumps a chance to flash the card. Mane made a difference when he came on and maybe should have started, he'd have burried the JWP chance. But just look at the rest of the bench, thats not a mid premiership bench, let alone a top 4 one. No margin for error now, spurs and Liverpool will need to be beaten at home. I really can't see arsenal blowing it, so it'll be down to utd . The games we will struggle in are like yesterday's when teams are happy to sit in against us. QPR will go for it at home, as will spurs and Liverpool . The games I'm worried about are the palace's, villas and west ham's , have we enough quality to break down teams intent on a point? -
I'm starting a petition to get Southampton netball team to set up blokes section.

These figures were widely quoted . I've personally watched "This week"" "Daily Politics " and "News night" where they have been quoted and also accepted by the labour interviewee.

Big month ahead for us. I'm just hoping Liverpool and spurs get left behind due to a back log of fixtures . Would like to be in the position where their focus shifts to Europa league as it becomes their most realistic route to champions league . That'll leave arsenal and utd. Given a fair wind and a lot of luck with injuries we could pip one of them . However, Arsenal are capable of some sublime performances and results and Utd have got world class attacking players . If we take every game as it comes and Ron can relax the players we can do it. I look at it very much like Liverpool and their chase for the tittle last season . It was their one chance , everything was in place , but the nerves got to them . Their game management against Chelsea and Palace was terrible , they went all fuzzy and lost their heads . Chelsea were there for a draw and they should have played out a bore fest. Palace at 3-0 was game over, sit in and see it out. In any other situation I would back us to get the points , but when nerves kick in it does strange things to people . If we can play with a nothing to lose attitude , we can do it. But when it dawns on you how near you are , it's a whole different ball game . Gut feeling , we will have a dodgy spell and will end up 5/6, still a fantastic achievement .

Why? He turned down a new contract . He had the chance to play for us but decided to go to Swansea , and you want us to give him a lap of honour? Weird .....
-
Anyone who saw Burnhams car crash of an interview on Newsnight will see that he's all over place with this NHS " privatisation" .
-
Now a squad player but who has done a decent job in the past and would be OK filling in for injuries. Out of contract and refusing to sign another one, so getting £3 mil for him is good business. Good luck to Jack, always did his best and never let us down, but I think he's slightly over rated by some on here.
-
Spot on, look what Bally did for Stevie Williams and the club. If WS has half the impact of the great man, it'll be a fantastic signing.
-
Cork is a run of the mill premiership player, wouldn't be good enough for the man utds or arsenals of this world , or even the Tottenhams IMO. He has been offered a new contract and if he doesn't want to sign it he can go forth and multiply, as far as I'm concerned.

Forget Poch , surely spurs facing fixture pile up is good news for us. Shame they got knocked out of the FA cup. I hope them and Liverpool go as far as they can in all the cups without winning them. Hopefully utd and Arsenal will have nice long FA cup runs with a couple of replays chucked in . Why wouldn't we want our rivals for 4th risking injuries, burn out and suspensions by having to play more and more games. Had the ref done his job properly Liverpool would be without Lucas and Henderson this weekend , with Gerrard having played 120 mins in midweek . I'll be cheering them on for a victory over Bolton after another gruelling 120 mins, before another draw next round at palace .

Shockingly biased interview with Brenda. He asked José about Costa not getting a red, but nothing to Brenda about Henderson & Lucas red, plus blatant peno. Why do the press suck up to him so much. Keep banging on about Mario, but Brenda signed him.
-
Marking there , shocking
-
Second yellow for Henderson all day long, what is this clown on?
-
That's a pen though. If the refs not going to give that , what is a pen. He's looking straight at it.

They do seem to have the remarkable knack of employing shirte managers , who get a few good results at the end of the season and manage to screw up the whole following year . The thing at that level is a decent manager makes a hell of a lot of difference . It's only when you get to the championship that money and being well run becomes a bigger factor . My concern is they'll get somebody in that can harness that number of supporters and get them up despite the clowns running the show. Awful isn't that man, so the longer he's in the job the better

If we are going to have debates , this is clearly the fairest system . As an English voter I don't want to listen to Ian Paisley jr ranting on about Fenians or some obscure Taff moaning about the price of sheep dip. Personally I would have one QT type programme per party , where the front bench are quizzed by journos specialising in their field . I want to see potential chancellors , Home Secretaries , foreign secretaries , health ect , put on the spot . Anyone who votes on the basis of a debate is a moron . You end up voting for the best debater , not the best candidate

But they doing allocate airtime on the basis of seats at the last election. An independent body Ofcom tell the broadcasters who they should treat as major parties. This is based on number of MPs, polls since the last election and national election results since the last election. Ofcom recently announced that they considered the establishment parties, plus ukip are to be treated as major parties this election.

Keeping Awful has given me a dilemma. If Awful does shiete and loses a few they'll bin him and may end up getting a decent replacement in. If they win a few he'll stay , and they won't go down. Based on the fact Hartlepools are shocking , I can't see them being worse than every other team, I think the best result could be a few wins. The deluded Few will then keep Awful , who is basically a poor manager , and we'll be at the same place this time next year. Like it or not, if they get a decent manager they are perfectly capable of promotion next year, with Awful they won't.

The SNP have very short memories. Salmonds first spell as first minister relied on a confidence and supply agreement with the Torys.

****ing hell, these clowns are going to hand the election to Cameron on a plate. Just heard Ed's latest " weaponising " of the NHS. "100 days to save it and the English NHS is in crisis. " " How is it in crisis " asked interviewer. " waiting times in A&E are up" " targets missed" Interviewer points out to Ed that waiting times are longer and targets missed by more in Labour run Welsh NHS " is that in crisis" " no " replies Ed. If like me you're wondering how that can her Ed explains " The Welsh NHS is better than it was 20 years ago , when the Tories ran it, so its not in crisis. " . Ed was then asked " is the English NHS better than it was 20 years ago" . " yes " replies Ed. " so if the English NHS is in crisis despite being better than it was, surely the Welsh one is as well" . Ed thinking on his feet says " I'm here to talk about the English NHS as the Welsh one isnt on the ballot paper in May". This bloke is going to make Gordon Browns Mrs Duffy campaign look like a slick masterpiece.

This is where the game of chess with The EU ( basically the Germans) begins. The problem the Germans have is that if they allow a " Greek haircut" where will it end. What is the incentive for the Portuguese, Spanish or French to continue with fiscal discipline, how will the Irish feel as they've basically knuckled down and have shown real restraint in the teeth of savage German imposed austerity . The balancing act the Greek lefties have is their population want to remain in the EU and Euro, they can not risk being chucked out as that'll be electoral suicide. A typical EUSSR fudge is needed, so that both sides save face. However , if its an obvious fudge the money markets will punish the Euro and the fiscally responsible countries within it will start paying more for their borrowing. Its a mess because ideology was put before practicality. Tight fiscal rules for joining the Euro were bent, broken and ignored and Germany turned a blind eye because " the project" was the only thing that mattered.
