  1. If mlt is going to put himself up as a pundit then his views should be judged as a pundit not a great player. As a pundit, what he said is horse shyte. Had merson or some other clown said the same he'd be crucified on here. Its crap, cortese did a great job, him going is not "one less problem". He's quick to point out that it wasn't his money, therefore he must have been accountable to the purse holder. What does matt think , that Nicola could just take as much money as he wanted, when he wanted. Course he was accountable to someone, it was someone's money. Matts takeover involved the CEO being accountable to his mummy. Matt le tissier was a better football than Nicola cortese will ever be, and Nicola cortese a better CEO than matt le tissier ever will be. They should stick to commenting on their area of expertise.
  2. I can't see rates going up pre the election, I know the BOE is independent, but just can't see them wanting to rock the boat yet. Even if the unemployment trigger is reached, the recovery is too fragile. I suspect they'll be another caveat around average earnings before rates go up. I am with nationwide and have been for years. Because of the length of time I've been with them im on their BMR which they guanteed would never be more than 2% above base. This used to be their variable rate, but now they call that their SMR, which has no such guarantee. They keep trying to bribe me to switch , which indicates they're not expecting rate rises soon and if there is a rise it won't be high. Lenders may try and bump up their SVR's to increase margin between the base rate and their borrowers rates but if I was a betting man I'd back a tiny % rise at worse by the next election.
  3. http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/2014/01/podcast-benefits-street-vs-the-left-camerons-euro-mission-and-our-1964-expose/ Some real common sense on this podcast from Frank Field on the show and the problems of the benefit trap.
  4. Muddy Mildred have you forgotten about Warbury Warriors?
  5. What if this runreekers bloke takes over and does a man city, are we going to rename it Wang stadium?
  6. Even "without trying" to win league, they were better than Yeovil, Fulham, stoke, west ham and crystal palace are now.
  7. Didn't we beat man city, Chelsea and Liverpool and draw with arsenal without lovren last season?
  8. I'm meeting family in Ealing beforehand and coming back via a few beers in Covent garden. Any real ale pubs on route from Ealing Broadway that anybody knows of?
  9. I presume you have to get underground on top of this. Does anyone know is it cheaper in advance or buy day ticket at waterloo. I normally pay extra and get it added to overground, but the terms of the £10 offer clearly state SW trains only. Anyone coming up from the west, there are no trains from brock that day. If you're coming via Bournemouth , there are buses stright to parkway,.which are quicker than train to brock then bus to Central.
  10. According to Andrew pierce she's claimed house of commons expenses to travel to the lilo tthat was her chosen charity. As its in the same road as her constituency office, he claims the amount she billed the tax payer for was 90p.
  11. It's nothing do with "tugging the forelock" its to do with my opinion of the tackle. Which was shared by the referee, Alan shearer, Michael Owen, Steve Mac, David James and according to Blackmore ,MP and the players.Perhaps we're all wrong and saints posters on a saints forum are right. If so, the referee will be stood down as mike jones was this weekend. How come some refs get stood down for mistakes but this one won't, it musdt be an anti saints conspiracy !!!
  12. Was the ref a clown as well, what about the saints manager and players are they clowns. What if the pgmo don't stand down foy , are they clowns?
  13. I'll take the pundit and the professional ref's view over people with red and white coloured spectacles on. My opinion is saints supporters are concentrating on the outcome and the fact they don't like Brown, rather than the tackle. A tackle shouldn't be judged by who made it and for what side the injured party played for. Most neutrals and certainly most people involved in the game (according to Blackmore , this even included Saints players and Manager) thought it fair.
  14. It was every single pundit from the BBC and from BT sport. People on here are hardly neutral are they? Lets see if the ref's board give Foy a break next week for missing it.
  15. The rumour was going round their ship yards on Poole Quay before it appeared on here. My lad works there and he mentioned it to me before MLG's thread started.
  16. All the pundits were agreed it should have been a red, in our case all the pundits agreed it was a fair tackle. On goals on Sunday they didn't even show it. Had Lovren or Shaw made that tackle and got sent off, the same posters calling for a red would be up in arms about an anti saints bias. People like Shearer, Owen and James have played the game, Chris Foy is a professional ref. Mike Jones was dropped for one poor decision at Newcastle, had it been as bad as some posters made out, Foy will suffer the same fate. I doubt if he will, because the general consensus is it was a fair tackle, with a horrendous outcome. This was certainly a lot worse.
  17. No its not, its one councillors views. Unless you're saying that one councillors opinions reflect the whole party. If so you would have to say that Margaret Burke's Nazi views in Milton Keynes are "labour for you"
  18. Thought it was a re run of the Cardiff game. Like Cardiff they let us pass the ball around and didn't close us down at all. Difference was we banged 3 in and put the match to bed by half time at Cardiff. Their first goal was the killer, cause they were gone. Stoke and Wigan stand out from last year as similar games, its hard enough to win away games without chucking away points when you totally dominate sides.
  19. Don't talk nonsense. Has Shearer got in in for Southampton, what about Michael Owen and the Commentator, what about the guys back in the studio Steve M and David James, what about Saints Manager and players who told Adam Blackmore they thought it was fair, have they all got in in for Southampton?
  20. Makes you laugh doesn't it? The referee, the commentators and analysts , and even the saints manager and players consider it a fair tackle, but saints posters demand apologies and a red. No doubt when match of the day conclude the same or ignore it, it'll be part of this massive anti saints conspiracy. Had a saints player made the tackle , they'd be hailing it. Apart from here has anybody called it a red?
  21. Why are people knobs because they have a different opinion than you. What do you want a forum where you post your opinion and then posters line up to agree with it? That'll be pretty boring. In my opinion he's slightly the wrong side of the hill, it's not that his form has dropped, just what happens to every single player that's ever played the game. They get old. don't forget he's pretty inexperienced at the top level and has done wonderfully well to adapt and thrive in this environment. But, he's either carrying a knock, or he's gone.
  22. Unless he's carrying an injury, his legs have gone. Looks one season too far to me, just hasn't got the zip anymore , but anyone who thinks he's not interested or not trying is a way off the mark. The England call up has muddyed the waters for me. Without it, he could become a Giggs or Scholes for us, coming off the bench, playing occasionally and helping the nippers. I'm sure he'd have been ok with that but quite understandably he wants to play week in week out, to get the dream end to his career. I hope he just needs a rest and can have one, cause he keeps playing like this and the beneficiary will be Andy Carroll.
  23. Didn't they beat Man Utd at home in a semi final the other day? Sunderland are fighting for their lives and we should have put the game to bed before they even scored. Second half was pretty poor. Boruc made a mistake, but I thought Shaw could have closed him down better. We were exposed badly down the left a couple of times and Shaw had no protection. Thought Chambers struggled and Lambert is playing himself out of the World Cup squad. Never the quickest, but his legs have gone, doesn't seem to want to jump and instead tries to buy a free kick or put the defender off. Need Yoshida to step up to the plate now.
  24. Bollards, the ones I know think he's great. He helped push the chuckle brothers out.
  25. Samuel was always having pops at cortese. He's never bought into his genius.
