  1. Time for our support to show their class. I would rather we just get on with supporting our side and hope there's no stupid chants about the Ref.
  2. He wanted the Skate job.
  3. Sounds great to me.
  4. Which saves were they then? There was one when Taarabt got through and he stood solid to make a fairly routine save at the near post, one from Holliet that he shovelled round the post, when in reality he could have chucked his cap on it, it was so poor, and another one where he looked like he was fielding a googly. I cant recall any save that any keeper in any of the 4 professional leagues couldn't have made. There was some good keeping Saturday , but it was their keeper doing it. Our end was just routine.
  5. I bet Pardew is not in sole charge of transfer dealings at Newcastle, and he certainly wasn't at West Ham . And why did he only pick Mascherano 5 times, was there outside interference or did he just not rate him?
  6. So it was just a coincidence that this coincided with his return to full fitness. I get it now..........
  7. Perhaps Turkish could post on here after the side is announced each game whether it's a committee side or an Adkins side. I would hate the thought of someone deciding after the game ie Win-Adkins, lose- committee, draw-mixture of both.
  8. Perhaps "the committee" told Adkins to drop Fox and bring Shaw in.
  9. Quite clearly Nigel decided that things couldn't continue the way they were. He obviously decided it was time to drop Fox and bring Shaw in. At the same time Cork was available again, and we played poor Swansea and dire QPR sides. A combination of those 3 things, a bit of tightening at the back and hey presto we have 4 points. I dont really understand what your trying to say.
  10. I would have thought there will be a lot of S/T holders who cant go, that would get you a ticket. That way they get the points and you get to watch from the away end.
  11. Here's an idea. Perhaps Nigel wanted to go with Fox at the start of the season. Not wanting to chuck the youngster in and also the fact that he wasn't fully fit played a part in this decision. When Nigel felt he was fit, this coincided with Fox having a couple of poor games. therefore NIGEL decided Fox should be dropped and Shaw replace him. I believe this happens up and down the country at every level of the game.
  12. Should have posted this earlier in the season. Maybe Boruc would have had a decent run in the side if it wasn't for those old women complaining to the club about him.
  13. My issue isn't with Lawrie or Matt who will always give an honest opinion when asked but with the media. Whether it's Sky, Radio 5 live or Talksport it seems like everytime somebodys on to talk about Saints it's mainly Frannie, Matt or Lawrie. People who the media are well aware have issues with NC. Once in a while I would like to hear from someone else.
  14. Clearly it was a mistake and I feel sorry for the kid. I think that sooner or later he's going to have a Bart against Blackpool game and that could really set him back. I would give Boru a run until Jan and then look at the options. If he's done ok, then fine. If he hasn't we need to get someone in.
  15. I agree, but what have we seen that suggests he's particulary talented at present? I've yet to see him make one save that any run of the mill Premeiership keeper wouldn't have made. Had he been playing for QPR yesterday, it would have been 5 or 6. Watched the second half of Norwich-Man Utd near Waterloo, had he been playing instead of Ruddy I dont think Norwich would have picked up 3 points. I've yet to be convinced he's some sort of wonder kid, and in the ansence of another option would rather go with Boruc.
  16. Great performance when we needed it, it would have been 5 or 6 without a good performance from their keeper. Cork was outstanding. For a bloke whose been out for a while, he's turned in 2 fantastic performances. Puncheon played the best game I've seen for us and Shaw was a real star. Hats off to Fox who gets a lot of stick on here, but's come off the bench twice to give professional performances when the young lad's tired. I was dissapointed with Ramirez. Flatered to deceive, floated about looking quite classy, but delivered little. I felt Taarabt looked more like a £12mil player than he did. The occasion that he seemed to have got the better of Ferdinand, only to appear to give up, would have received howls of rage had it been Guly. Watching Jack Cork run his heart out means I have little time for the "he's not match fit" arguement. Defensively, dissapointed with the goal. Cross was allowed far too easily, Lallana lost his man and The Keeper was caught in no mans land. If we defend crosses like that against Hollilet what we gonna do against Stoke. All in all though a really positive result, and a truley memorable performance for such a pressured game. We really need to push on and win our next 2 games. That'll be 4 unbeaten and these are very winnable games.Personally I would bring Boruc back in but keep the same outfield 10.
  17. I dont get it. He is clearly a weak link, his handling was suspect a couple of times yesterday, he was at fault along with lallana for the goal and yet people still think he's the best thing since sliced bread. We had the same thing with Bart, and look how that turned out. He needs shipping out on loan to a Championship or league one side. He needs to learn from his mistakes, but I dont want him learning from them in our relegation battle.
  18. Exactly the same as the by election turnout 18%. I await the calls that her by election victory is somehow "tainted" or "flawed" because of the low turnout. If you watched This Week last night Andrew Neil, Michael Portillio and Alan Johnson ALL said that had elections been held on the same day as Euro or other elections, turnout would have been higher. Johnson, who oppossed the post, even went on to say that it was strange that a newly created vote wasn't paired with another election, as it always was in the past (new votes for mayors ect). Somebody has to fullfil this role. At the moment it is a unelected faceless quango, with a head nobody knows. Now it'll be a person directly elected to carry out local people's wishes. Take my area, this is what was reported on the BBC "Dorset's first police and crime commissioner, Martyn Underhill, is a former senior detective who led the investigation into the disappearance of missing schoolgirl Sarah Payne 12 years ago. He put keeping politics out of policing at the heart of his campaign, and made pledges to keep officers on the streets and on the supervision of offenders to reduce reoffending" He has made a committment to local people and they voted for him. He will now be held to account and if he fails to do as he promised, he'll be kicked out. Before this local people were kept in the dark and told to like it or lump it. Who would I rather have looking at my local police and dictating their policy. An elected Mr Underhill or timeserving local political bureaucrats elected by nobody and running the policing policy in a way they see fit.
  19. "the police should be independent and not affiliated to any political party" If that's the case, why does the London Mayor have the same responsibilities as the new Police commissioners with regard to policing in London? Is that not political, or is it ok in London, but not the rest of us plebs. It was a good idea, badly explained and managed by this Government. The Lib/Dems refused to allow a vote on the same day as other elections to maximise turnout and the Torys didn't do the leg work to explain it to the people. Local people voting on and holding the person who oversees the police in their area to account is a good thing. At the moment a faceless quango do the job I see no issue whatsoever in electing someone. The problem was it was hijacked by the parties and just became another political bun fight, with old has been likes Two Jags and Michael Mates standing. There should have been local businessmen, excoppers, ex senior forces people ect standing as independents, not the same tired old faces. Hopefully It'll grow on people when they realise people can be held to account.
  20. Spot on, We talk about football a lot at work and down the pub and not one of my mates that support other sides ever brings him up. Nothing along the lines of "that Ramirez looks a good player/prospect". When Tim Vickery goes on the radio doubting he'll make it in the Premiership, posters call him an idiot ect. I hope he does well and he has got skill and potential, but he's given the ball away more than anyone else the past 2 games and apart from 45 mins against a poor poor Villa side, has been average at best.
  21. If it was just groping some chick there should be a statute of limitation on such stuff. ****ing hell most of us would be on a charge if coping a feel 40years ago is considered a police matter. I knew a bloke who used to make a party picece out of it. When he had a few he would say to birds"I bet you £1 note that I can make your tits move without touching them" A lot of them would.tell him to **** off, some would take the bet. He would then get them to stand there and then proceed to have a good rub of their jugs, give them the money and say " thank you, well worth a pound" nowadays he'd probably be on the sex register.
  22. There was a bloke on radio claimed that he said "I dont give a monkeys what you think" and the Brazillian guy thought he heard "I dont care what a monkey thinks".
  23. I've had Arsenal and QPR ones that weren't sealed, I dont know about West Ham because they went to the wrong ****ing address.
  24. is Harriet harperson part of this great Murdoch stich up as she was up early this morning touring media outlets question the pay off. One day I'm hoping there is gonna be a story that's not the evil Murdoch empire's fault. I thought we'd found one; much loved BBC star abusing children on BBC premises,BBC people appear to turn a blond eye, then appear to cover up story to protect Xmas schedules, then cock up and accuse innocent man,but no Murdoch still gets stick . What's. Next Peter Sutcliffe" it was the sun wot done it "
  25. Living in a democracy means having a free Press and also having quaint customs like innocent until proven guilty. Why would you want us to become the type of country that names people in it's press as peado's and sex offenders without a shrewd of evidence. Perhaps you could name one of the wonderful democratic countries where peado' are named in the press on the basis of rumours. I bet their libel lawyers are wealthy. You can't beat a good old witch trial.......
