  1. Why didn't people buy Ipswich or Barnsley tickets, even if they couldn't go? They would have paid £27 for a ticket they didn't use, but would now have a Cov ticket.
  2. That's too simple. Every song has to be rewritten, discussed and rearranged on the internet before being used. I think George Martin & Macartney spent less time discussing the arrangement of Penny Lane , then we've spent on OWTS
  3. We'll go up no problem, last night saw to that. Only issue is when we go up. Wins for Cardiff and Blackpool, will mean Boro will chuck the towell in and even if they dont, I still think we can get a win up there. If not it'll be Cov game, no way will Bristol C **** up against Barnsley, so they'll already be down. My gut feeling will be draw Sat, win against Cov.
  4. We wont get anywhere near the pitch. It'll be too easy for them to stop us. I'm not really bothered either way but think it would be nice for all the players and staff to come over and celebrate in front of us.
  5. I must be getting old, but I didn't think standing was all that. My nipper got pushed around a bit after the first 2 goals went in, so we moved to the side and the view was pretty poor. It was ok for a one off, but prefer the new grounds to these old ones. I did find it a bit strange that people would want to stand, and then buy seats when there is terracing available.Had I sat down on the terraces I'm sure people would have thought I was some sort of idiot. Hopefully everybody who wanted to sit, was at the front and could see. Personally when there is a standing area, I think pretty selfish to buy a seat and then stand in front of someone who wants to sit down. I would have thought the best solution was those who wanted to stand go onto the terraces and those who wanted to sit buy seats, but perhaps I'm missing something here.
  6. Whether Fonte is good enough for the Premiership is open to debate, what is'nt is whther he should play ahead of Martin. He's a better player than Martin, full stop...............
  7. It wasn't just the West Ham result that was dissapointing, but Leicester's on Sat. They were coming with a late run and if they were still in with a shout of play offs, it would be a tougher game for West Ham. I do think we'll need 7 points, with the Boro game being the biggie. We really could do with them losing on Tuesday, and their play off hopes pretty much gone when we kick off
  8. I maybe clutching at straws, but at least our goal difference is still higher than Reading. Forest can be tough and maybe Reading's luck may run out and they have an off day on Tuesday. A slip for them will really pile the pressure on because of their poor goal difference and Brum away on the last day.
  9. ****ing hell, what sort of bloke goes to a funeral and then starts moaning about it? If it brings comfort to the family, then who are you to complain about the service. I'm sure they are really sorry that they took up 4 hours of your valuable time, perhaps you should bill them for it.
  10. I cant see anything other than a win at Peterboro. I’m just hoping that Bristol C do us a favour, big time. West Ham will beat Leicester & Hull, so if they also win Tuesday, it really will get anxious. I can just see it now, win at Peterboro, lose to Middlesboro and beat Cov. However West Ham batter Hull and we fall out of the top 2 for the first time all season on the final day. I have a real real bad feeling that is what will happen if West Ham beat Bristol.
  11. Sorry mate, I was going to get it for the Mrs but came home from the game last night and she's got her sisters old one.
  12. After last sat's result I thought we needed to win 3 games. The ones that looked most winnable were Palace, Peterboro and Cov, with the hope that me may pinch a point or 3 in the other 2 games. Nothing really has changed, beat Peterboro and Cov and barring some freak results that will be enough. I thought we played pretty well last night, but Reading did a number on us, just like they did to West Ham, Brighton and countless other sides this season. They executed their game plan to perfection and only looked rattled at 1-1. That's when we lost it, not managing to go on and punish them in the 20 mins after we scored. All 3 of their goals were errors. Fox gave a poor ball, but we didn't defend correctly after that. The thing I hate about the modern game is full backs letting wingers get crosses in too easily, it seems to be a modern trend that they dont want to close down too tightly in case they get skinned. Kebe was given too much space to pick his cross and Roberts was not put under enough pressure with the header. The second one, I thought Hammond was at fault and the 3rd was a bit of a joke. Going forward we were ok until we were 2-1 down, then I was dissapointed. As someone earlier said RL started to tire, I didn't see the point in bringing Guly on and then playing him deep in a stright swap and I didn't think we pressured Harte enough. I dont know why SDR didn't keep roasting him, but my gut feeling is we dont give him the ball early enough and we always give it to his feet. Slow build up meant that they could double up and protect Harte, and when was the last time we knocked an earlier ball into the space behind the full back for SDR to run onto? I still think we'll go up, but a favour off Brighton would be most welcome.
  13. I would be interested if I can use a Virgin sim in it. Virgin use the T Mobile network, so I would think a locked T Mobile phone will work with a Virgin sim. Does anyone know if that's correct?
  14. When the book is written about the takeover thread, that pic and the old lady with the scooter have to be included. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that the "comedy" has ran for longer than a year, the picture of Skate Hawkins and his gang should be the front cover.
  15. I struggled to get a hotel near the ground, ended up with one about 20 mins away. They told me they were filling up that weekend, but the women didn't know if it was because of the game or not.
  16. As a Tory, surely you should applaud this maximising of profits. Or do you only approve of the free market supply and demand, only in certain circumstances?
  17. No comparison to now. We have a far better side. I like Baird, particulary at Centre half, but I would have him as a squad man now. Wouldn't want Surman anywhere near this side. Obviously Bale, would be in. Saga, when fighting for a contract would walk into our side, he was on fire. But, the Saga once he got a contract, would not touch with a barge pole. Same with Raisak, and Jones. I would not have played Claus again after the relegation season. My mixture of the side (just comparing form from the particular season) would be. Kelvin Frazier Jos Fonte Fox Lallana Cork MS Bale Lambert Saga Bench Bart (from that season) Baird Jones Sharp Viafara Do disagree with the "nearly got to the Premiership" tag around the 06/07 team. We scrapped into the play offs and lost to the worst team in Premiership history.
  18. Just spoke to the Ticket office, because my son hasn't got his Reading ticket yet. They told me that they are behind due to the Pompey game and the Bank Holidays and that all outstanding tickets that anyone has ordered are going out today.
  19. I just bought tickets for Peterboro, so they're not sold out. Strange thing was it let me buy Middlesb over the weekend, but I'm not a season ticket holder.
  20. at the start of the season i thought we would finish about 10th . As a mid table team i would have marked down wins at palace & pboro and a home win against cov . Those are 3 we must win , couple that with 1 point from reading or middlesboro will mean west ham have to win all 5 . Although every game is tough at this stage of the season , our next 2 away are certainly amongst the easiest , in fact barnsley aside we could not have hand picked them better .
  21. we have scored 4 in the last 3 games and one blokes scored all of them . I know .... Lets drop him , because he doesnt play "the saints way ". I do wonder about some people . Simple fact is sharp scores goals at this level, has scored our last 4 goals and must start .
  22. Those that went onto the pitch were ****s, particulary the one waving the corner flag about. If they get banned they only have themselves to blame. That said, it's hardly their fault we conceded, it's 4 minutes of playing time and we let it in during that time. Had it taken 10 mins to clear the pitch, there still would have been 4 minutes left. Trying to rewrite history and saying if xy & z would have happened we'd have won, is as pathetic as running onto the pitch.
  23. Truely sickening ending, I dont think I've been so down since Bent smacked that one in after Crouch should have headed for the corner. It was a typical Derby, passionate and 100 miles an hour. They battled and battled, but to be fair I thought we stood up for ourselves and matched them. Couple of unbelivable hits from them, together with 2 pretty decent saves won the game for them. Dont understand why Lallana tried to go round the keeper, and then made a fool of himself with that dive. Lucky not to get booked. Had it been Guly, some posters would be in melt down. Have to win Monday, simple as that. They have nothing to play for and we need to put the pressure on West Ham. Birmingham's a tough game, that'll be made tougher if they're 7 points off us. We need to regroup and go again. We're top of the League, with a 4 point cushion. A position every single one of us would have taken in Aug. Palace is a very winnable game, then lets see how the table looks comes Weds morning.
  24. They'll win today, they've then got 2 home games, followed by Bristol C away. They then have Leicester (who will have nothing to play for) and Hull. I can see them winning 5 of them, if not all of them. Had Reading lost to them, they then had a run of Leeds, Brighton away and us. Tough games. The win at West Ham, will have boosted their confidence. Going into the last 10 mins today, they were confident and went on to win.
  25. I thought all along that West Ham will win 5 if not all of their remaining games. I just have a real nasty feeling about them and their fixtures are easy imo. I really wanted them to batter Reading, yes there would have been a point less of a gap, but had Reading lost to West Ham, would they have been so patient today. I really think we're going to have to win 4 remaining games, and 2 wins this weekend, will ease my tension.
