People forget that last year Ramirez' goal scoring record was better than JRod's, but JRod was given the benefit of the doubt by most and repaid it by having an excellent season this year. Ramirez was dropped and hardly featured, his form dropped pretty low. Who knows how well Ramirez would've done if he'd been given the chances JRod was. Would we have written JRod off if he'd been dropped? It's been ages since he had a decent run in the team.

That was odd, man points out he doesn't have a clue as there's no evidence to go on and is abused and told what he believes. Settle down Charlie, do something else for a while, eh?

Highest points tally in the PL, attractive possession football, better players than I remember us having in years, international call ups, up to the highest league position we can really expect without a big dose of luck, the whole country looking at saints with respect and admiration for our system, home grown talent in abundance. So much to enjoy and be happy for compared to what we've had in the last 30 years. but we're saints fans, so we have no intention of reveling in the good times. We just have to go on about how everything will soon turn to ****. We've supported saints across three divisions, we've supported saints with and without investment, we've supported saints during the two seasons we won a trophy, during the very few when we came close and during the many we came nowhere near. We've supported saints when we play nicely and when we play ugly. What exactly is the upcoming disaster that's going to be so bad? One day we'll be **** again, one day we'll be great again, both are a certainty. I'll enjoy the good times and not keep looking forward to hypothetical bad times cheers. Clap clap clap.

It's impressive deal for sure, if we have to sell him. I don't agree though with those who think we'll then go out and spend 30m and build a better team. We'll spend part of that and have the same roughly 50% hit and miss rate as we and every other team do, which probably won't improve the team overall, as Shaw will be a noticeable loss. We will be a better team if we can possibly keep him and lose out on the transfer money. Keeping Shaw would help convince other players to stay too. I think once Shaw and Lallana go (and frankly, they really should, especially Lallana), it'll tell a lot of our players exactly where we stand as a club and I think others will feel more inclined to move on. If you're in any demand, why stay at a club selling the players it would need to push on at all? Also, despite it being a whopping fee, he's better than Bale was at the same age and who knows what his value will be in 5 years if they sell him. The Bale fee was ridiculous at the time, but doesn't look so great in retrospect, seeing what the money got us and what his next move was worth. i'm holding on to the dream of them staying, because them leaving signifies the end of our upward trajectory (which may already have peaked anyway). This is the perfect time for Lallana to move on though and Liverpool would be a decent club for him. Hope he doesn't do the sensible thing.

I wouldn't feel too bad if Dodd went, but that's only on the possibly misguided understanding that it was him who made life hard for Sturrock when he was here. Sturrock may not have been good enough, but if it's true that Dodd was a disruptive undermining *****, then it's probably best he's not around the club. Of course if that rumour wasn't true, I should just wind my neck in.

If true, good move for him, bad one for us. I expect our team to improve the same way it did when we got record fees for Shearer and Flowers, or like it did when we sold Bale, the last attacking left back we sold, who went on to make the "crazy" money we got for him look like peanuts.

Fair play to Ohio Saint. Before this thread they had been carrying on for over a year with the trolling without any sign of mods bothering to step in. A couple of weeks after this thread opens and opinions are made clear, both the main offenders are gone. I don't believe that's a coincidence. Perhaps those cancelled subscriptions had some influence. I expect they'll be renewing them after all now.

Judgement night had a great soundtrack for such a nothing film. I still listen to teenage fan club vs de la soul on a regular basis. other great soundtracks: trainspotting royal tennenbaums high fidelity

Remember when we came up and everybody thought we were a still a poor club even though we had money and ambition? We found it quite annoying when clubs not much bigger than us thought they could pick up our best players? It's kind of nice when the hypocrisy is on the other foot...or something.

Pap, you can scratch that. He has been going on about me for a year without me taking any part, it seems the deppo thing really touched a nerve, but he's agreed to let it go at last and I really have no interest.

Feel free to find even ONE post by me directed at you this year, should be easy if you think I still keep going on about it. I've read a few in the last couple of weeks by you linked to me and that post a year ago. It's a fantasy of yours, the only other time I addressed you at all was when you commented on a thread I'd started, all on topic. Deppo, who I had a huge crush on, didn't make jokes about the tsunami, that was the line you took at the time to try to get him into trouble. He made a joke about YOU being a ****. I'd definitely call it a bit of an obsession if you mention me on here, changed your avatar, refer to a year old post all in response to two posts on the same thread a year ago. In fact, on that thread you went on about a thread I'd done two years before about crisps. For some reason my occasional posts seem to stay with you for a long time. You won't find those snipes or posts about you, I've been bemused for a while about you still going on about me a year later, but I've found you easy to avoid and after this post I will again, I know I'll be in your thoughts and posts though.

I'm dull, it's true, but for some reason you're still obsessing over two posts I made in reply to you nearly a year ago. I think I've only ever responded to you three times ever, but you've referred to it on a regular basis ever since, so a nerve was well and truly touched, it's unusual for dull things to provoke so much response. "still goes on about it"? Christ, it's been a year and it was in one post, get over it little man. Still, I guess if somebody who posts on average once a day can so easily get under the skin of somebody who posts all day every day, there must have been something to it. I certainly remember you *****ing and whining about deppo to get him banned, just because he took the **** out of you, that was before you tried to convince us all of how zany you are though. Well there's your fix. I've replied to you for the first time this year. I'm sure you'll still be referring to my comments several times a week for the next year until I can be bothered to reply to you again, maybe you'll change your avatar again, or post regularly about being a weasel, or post about me on a thread about feuds.

I think Britain needs to bring in more immigrant youth to improve on that lot. There's clearly a problem with the gene pool.

That made me laugh. sounds like he surely is a man who takes the internet pretty seriously judging by his comments. Very uptight! I think the ugly inside will suit him just fine, it's best for everyone.

New LB turns out to be the next Olivier Bernard, Lukaku continues to not live up to his early hype, pretty soon we've lost the "new Bale" and have as much to show for it as when we sold Shearer for a ludicrous record fee and bought Speedie and Dixon. Those who think getting a big fee means that a proven high level player won't be missed really haven't seen what our record of replacing top players has been. Who were the great players we bought with the money from Bale? Dean Richards? Tim Flowers? It really doesn't generally work that way at all. add to that the question of why Lukaku or a genuinely good £10m left back actually want to sign for a club in the process of selling off its better players. 30m buys you Osvaldo and Ramirez, 30m can buy you Andy Carroll. Expect 50% of new signings not to work out.

Ralph Krueger's end of season interview
norwaysaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Really? Because we've what they've said indicates that isn't the case. We DO have to accept that players capable of achieving more than we can offer will want to move on to fulfill their potential though. Now would be a good time for Lallana too, sadly. -
The West ham one feels the worst out of those, we aren't two goals worse than them, followed by Villa, who were poor this year. The Newcastle (thumping scoreline)and Everton (an impressive aggregate win) ones are pretty satisfying. It may not mean much, but it's interesting to see.

It's an odd question as most people probably do have a couple of hundred they could invest if they wanted to. I've already promised to invest in my kids' plans to sell ice creams on the beach near our house this summer. No shops anywhere nearby and most people come to the beach by boat. They'll be working on about a 300% mark up. Not planning on giving them 200 quid to play with though...

There are loads of threads out there for discussing this, so this thread is just for you to name the names and either allow you to point out you were right, or make you have to admit you got it wrong. Loads of people are now posting who is leaving with absolute certainty, so here's a place for easy reference. Debate it on other threads, but give your list here for the exodus. Get it on record, who's off?

I picked that up cheap too. I like it but I'm taking a break from it. I do seem to be a bit addicted to payday 2 though. One of those games where you suddenly discover 2 or 3 hours have strangely disappeared. It only works to play it co-op though.

Breaking news? I feel like I've been hearing about this (mostly on here) a few times a week since Christmas. Haven't there been loads of rumours and articles about them wanting to buy him?

" I bet he had hair greasier than Joffrey's ****."

I think there are some important issues to sort out here. Who would you rank as the top three players for every first name we've had at least three players called. for example: Alan 1. Ball 2. Shearer 3. McLoughlin So how do you rate our best three James's, Marks, Djamels, Morgans etc?
-
Yeah, it's not like Vikings, Saxons and Normans settled here and became a major part of the population, shaping the development of our language, culture and what is essentially seen as British thereafter, lol. No! we sent them all back where they belonged!
