Totally agree, I still think that some have no concept of the mess we were in when AP was appointed.

Name me one team that are "at their best" week in week out, always play to the best of its ability and never lose a game?
-
I am not utterly deluded at all having attended every home game and enough away games to be in a position to form an opinion. We have only lost 8 games all season, 3 of which were in the pre-season period of Aug/Sept when we had only just had in place players, coaching staff and a scouting network. You say about things being dined out for long enough on this thread and yet on another are critical instant gratification - make your mind up. It seems to me that every week on the pre-match threads you salivate at the thought of defeat and poor performances, try to take some sort of moral highground when things don't go on plan (as they won't always) but are conspicuous by your absence when we win.

Nope I think this season was about consolidation not promotion. The JPT was a bonus. For me this season has been about being grateful that we still have a club to support and feeling the difference in the positive atittude and positive atmosphere sweeping the club from top to bottom. Watching the final made me realise that finally for the first time in years we have a fan base that believes and is behind the players and manager. We will walk this division next season. Feel free to join us.

Great post

I was BNP followed by UK Independence, which is weird as I've always considered myself more pro-Europe than against.
-
I just remembered the "Jim Branning" experiment against Coventry a few seasons ago...cringe.

Soccer Saturday on the screens at half time please so we can see all of the half time scores. I know it will never happen but I can dream.

I think the lady protests too much. It is you that cannot handle the fact that the natural order of things will soon be restored. I hope that you enjoyed the brief sojourn out of our shadow.

Any form of pre-match/half time "entertainment" (except for those "dancers" at Fulham a few years ago)

He played left back for Exeter a fair bit.
-
He really does need to work on his finishing - too indecisive and powder puff in that department currently.
-
I would imagine we will strengthen further in the summer and get rid of the dross. We have a core of 12/13 decent players and will probably sign 5 or 6 more. The thing that worries me is who we may lose.
-
Yeah, we only had £15 million and debt and you have £70 million - bloody usurpers. Come back in 2 years and lets have this conversation again you skate t**t.
-
It is crap isn't it? I have to go out tonight and be sociable. Now we have lost I don't want to go out at all.
-
I agree. We should be good enough to beat teams like Tranmere irrespective of any dodgy decisions. You can't rely on the performance of referees, it is our player's performances we should be looking at.

When he came in he talked about a 5 year plan to get to the Prem. Not sure promotion was ever part of the plan for year one. Good form from October raised hope although in my opinion we have always been just too far off. There is no doubt he is ambitious but you don't get to his position by making rash decisions. 99% of the fan base are realists and therefore behind Alan Pardew - one if the rules of business is don't p*** your customers off. For these reasons there is no way in a million years NC will fire Pardew now. However, promotion is an absolute must next season and the heat will be on, and rightly so, from game one.

Poor result. We can concentrate on the cup now though.

I wish I had a crystal ball. Simply to give the youngsters a taste of first team action, experience, mixing with the first team to see how they prepare etc. Obvious things really.
-
If the play offs become a mathematical impossibility it would be good to see some of the youngsters given a first team run out for a few games at the end of the season.

Need to adapt to crap pitches

I am concerned that a takeover will result in the loss of this thread and therefore I face the prospect of having to do a full days work again.
-
As I said, I was referring to info on the skate forums, I can't find anything about it either so not sure where they got it from.

On their boards the consensus is that they forfeit their right to £33 million, payable in one lump sum (rather than the old method of 3 annual payments). I think many queried the figures but it seems that they are correct and were a result of the "new TV deal". It would explain why the major players would not want to go into admin as it is the only way of making some of their money back.
-
True, ideally they will go into admin and that way lose the parachute money also.
