  1. Do you mean Puncheon as an attacking CM Phil or keep him on the right wing?
  2. I think what this thread shows is that generally seems to agree we need a right winger, back up for Lambert and CM. This would give us the ability and variety to break these teams down.
  3. I agree we need to mix it up but we also need to get the basics and balance right first. There were some fantastic crosses coming in from the left yesterday but too few times no-one to attack the ball. Out and out wingers with pace will stretch games late on against "park the bus" teams which I think was what delldays post was asking for opinions on.
  4. That will never happen when you are playing a left footed player on the right who always has to cut inside. Yesterday highlighted the need for a right winger and cover for Lambert. I liked Antonio but if the £500k reports are true then I should think that there are better players for the money. I also think Waigo would have just given us something different yesterday also which we were crying out for.
  5. The way to play these teams is to stretch them - the only way of doing this is the effective use of wingers - preferably ones with the ability to get the by-line and cross.
  6. I just wish we had a right footed right winger to get to the by-line and cross. Having said that there wasn't much to aim at today.
  7. The HMRC QC had an Ali Dia.
  8. That will teach me to speed read.
  9. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Boot-sale-will-go-ahead.6458082.jp There could be a sudden surge of available stock.
  10. Best case scenario for them is years of struggle - they can hardly large it up about that.
  11. The thing is, there is this assumption amongst them that they will "rise through the leagues". I am not sure it is simple as that, there will be the inevitable initial enthusiasm but this will drain away when the reality of AFC Pompey v Bordon bites....fans will drift away and over time the memory of Portsmouth FC will be exactly that, a memory. They won't attract young supporters and will just become an archetypal non-league outfit. I am sure the fans of Maidstone thought they would would rise through the leagues. Granted, Aldershot bucked the trend - but the best that the skates can hope for is an Aldershot type sized club back in the league in maybe 10-15 years. Happy Christmas to you all.
  12. Me too, probably skates pretending to be saints. I wouldn't dream of going on to the News site pretending to be a skate...
  13. Thanks Ashtead Saint - this gives us more meat on the bone from was was being reported via The News - this seemed to give the impression that the skates had won the day but from your report it does appear that things are very much in the balance/HMRC ahead by a nose.
  14. Shall I not even mention Molyneux as a free kick expert either then??
  15. I am feeling quite nervous....then I think of BWP going clean through one on one and it relaxes me somewhat.
  16. Yes, lets not start the whole debate again!
  17. I tend to agree with this - we do on paper look like we lack pace going forward. At the moment I can see us utilising the left hand side almost exclusively therefore becoming too predictable and easy to defend against.
  18. The plans and structure that Cortese have implemented are spot on imho - we are improving all areas of the club. You have however re-written history somewhat ref. Lowe. His decisions was not proven correct as we were relegated due to under investment, which started the financial disaster later to compounded by other chancers.
  19. Just tell them you were "in Milan" as in Mandaric
  20. This is the internet equivalent of tantric sex (I would imagine)
  21. "This is a vendetta by the English Establishment against Portsmouth FC and the city for daring to stick out and be radical and different. We must win or it's a case of 'Street Fighting Man' ! Play UP Pompey !" Tell me this is one of you being ironic....???
  22. Hmm, maybe something more subtle to wind them up.
  23. It is pure theatre...mostly of the vaudeville freak show variety. I am wondering whether to start winding them up though with a "come on HMRC" post.
  24. Did you mean constructive or constant? Just checking.
