The last decent corner taker we had was Le Tiss and since leaving The Dell our corners have been awful. Under successive managers since the move to SMS our corners haven't improved one bit - I doubt we have averaged more than 1 or 2 goals a season from them. The last thumping headed goal I remember from a corner was against Wolves a few years back by Alex Pearce when he was on loan from Reading.

I still think it is too early to judge him Hypo and competition is healthy - if and when he gets a chance it should make him more determined to take it. For what it is worth I thought he had a great first half when I saw him against against Plymouth and out in some dangerous crosses. Quite a few people wrote Guly off after about 12 minutes of football in 2 games so you never can tell which way it will go for Dickson. I would imagine Joseph Mills has more to worry about.

Delgado with more pace, better touch, no dodgy knees and not precious about us remembering his birthday.

A good post and you can certainly put the likes of Mitchell in the same category as Carr - shepherds have them.

Spot on, RL is forced to spend far too much time out wide trying to get the ball - when he does there is never anyone in the box.

Genuinely, I can't think of any battling players in our squad.

We never win with a new manager, we always lose against an opponent with a new manager. If an opposing player is on 99 goals I guarantee they will score against us, if an opposing player hasn't scored for 20 years I guarantee they will score against us. We always concede goals against players who used to play for us and those with ridiculous surnames - Akinbiyi etc etc. It has become part of the Saints' Law.

Kelvin doesn't command his area and is indecisive on crosses imho. If there is to be true competition for places then nobody should be immune from being dropped.

On the plus side we could get rid of the crap like Wotton and never replace them with someone of the same ability.

What a s*** bench, and therein lies one of the problems.

The LMA have been strangely quiet though. Normal practise is to defend their members publically when they have been unfairly dismissed.

I have seen them play a few times both at SMS and on the box and have been impressed by the football his teams played.
