Now you are really talking about something completely different pal. You were wrong. That's ok. You're probably wrong quite often, like most people. Learn to accept it pal.

The funny thing is, I don't even think Poch underachieved and if he'd stayed for another season we would have done really well (although I doubt much better than we actually did do anyway). But clearly he wasn't hamstrung in his second season by Fox, Hooiveld and Davis/Gazza considering they rarely played. So I was right. Not wrong. #pal

No, pal, you have misunderstood the conversation, pal. The premise was that Pochettino underachieved. This was rebutted on the basis that he had to field a lot of poor players. Obviously the person making that rebuttal meant this was often the case - it would be odd to relieve someone of the charge of underachieving over a league season based on a tiny sample of league matches where a few crap players played. So you're wrong, pal. You misunderstood the suppressed premises. It's ok to be wrong. If you're wrong and a smarmy ****, though (pal), with a misguided sense of their own intelligence pal, people will think you're a bit of a cock though, pal.

No, I was right. So you are wrong in saying I am wrong. Wrong. Hooiveld and Fox each made three league appearances that season. Kelvin Davis made two. Gazza made seven starts and one sub appearance. So the idea that Poch was hamstrung by this abundance of dross is nonsense. Lovren made 31, Shaw 35 and Boruc 29 league starts in those positions. Although you do make an interesting point, which is that we nearly always lose at home to Spurs in recent seasons.

What on earth are you talking about?
-
In his first half-a-season, yes, but that's not true in the season we finished eighth. Luke Shaw was the usual left back and Lovren and Fonte were the centre backs with Yoshida as back-up. KD was also back-up to Boruc.

I'm not trying to pick on you but this post highlights why, in my opinion, some people just don't get a fair crack. There was nothing whatsoever Forster could do about the first goal. The deflection on the cross wrong-footed the defence which was positioned ok. It was just one of those things. The there's an implication that Tadic had some sort of open-goal chance, which he just simply didn't. He had the ball in a promising position but to imply the goal was at his mercy is just plain wrong.

He's an average Premier League keeper. He's not Loris, de Gea or Courtois but he is better than any keeper Liverpool has! We are a upper mid-table sort of team so we will have some average Premier League players. If we had eleven exceptional Premier League players we would be in the top 4. He's not "shocking" or "atrocious". And the utter bellends who started sarcastically cheering kicks last night need to grow up. ****ing babies.

Our top earners are on around 70 to 80k a week. So if Morgan wants 120k that's 50% more than anyone else.

There should be a general election. Let the parties provide as much or as little detail as to how they would seek to implement (or not implement) Brexit in their manifestos and let's allow the country to decide who it wants. Cameron's immediate resignation has left something of a democratic deficit itself - possibly inevitable seeing as he, personally, "lost" the referendum - and I think the challenge is so significant that a general election is a necessary precursor. Anyway, I'm off for a pre-match pint or two.

I think it's quite hard to get a job if you don't have an address or a bank account and you stink and look a complete mess. If you think most homeless people are homeless because they can't be bothered to get a job then you're perhaps a little dim. I don't expect you to be curing cancer or sending rockets to the moon but any idiot should be able to think their way around that without too much difficulty.

6 points from three games would be an excellent return for us in any run of three league games. 6 or more from these three would be fantastic.

I think that's the nub of it, right there. The club is not going to sign another central midfielder, in a similar sort of functional mould (pass and move, keep it simple) to a lot of our others, when we already have six of those who have played first team football this season. And I can't see us selling any of them in Jan. Yes, Morgan is probably better than any of the others but he would represent only a marginal improvement to the whole team and if he is commanding £100k+ per week would upset the current pay structure. If we sign a central midfielder it will be a much more offensive chap who offers a clear benefit to the squad (someone who can beat a man or represents a potent goal threat), and rightly so.

The SMS toilets are closed today as a mark of respect so make sure you have a tinkle before leaving the pub.

I think that's over the top. It's Van Dijks fault as much as Romeu's if you want to go down that route. Virgil missed sitters in two away matches. If he'd scored either we would have qualified.

The play-off dream is alive!
-
Has Bertrand got the biggest Johnson then?
-
It's a no-brainer in terms of transfer fee but if he wants to be paid 50% more than our current top earners then that's also a no brainer, unfortunately. I would like to think we've at least had a word with him though.
-
PS. Are you Jack Schite? I can't remember. If you are then I don't believe you.
-
Interesting! His contract still leaves the club in the driving seat, though, unless he's got a release clause.
-
I've got to admit, I wasn't expecting him to "Norris" me for publicising his article. Possibly the weirdest response to a tweet I've ever had. Then he goes on to imply you've got be a weirdo to read the News Sport section! It's not as though I was abusing him. Very strange to reply at all!

Me too. I'd call them or text them. The obsession with public posting will **** up our society in the medium term.
-
In fairness, a lot of the comments are pointing out what a torrent of ****e comes out of Allen's pen!

Why is that unfortunate? If we pay Morgan £120k a week then Boufal, Van Dijk, Fonte, Romeu, Tadic, Bertrand, Forster etc. will want £120k a week. As far as I know, our current top earner is on about £80k/wk. This is probably the same problem West Brom would be making for themselves. Which is why he won't go to West Brom but might go to Everton or West Ham. This is also why the likes of Everton and West Ham end up with expensive crap in their squads over time.
