  1. This chap:
  2. Can we get Ranieri's translator? He was ace.
  3. WTF? Yeah, we only bring people in from Serie A on loan and sign one of the best centre backs in the Championship. I imagine any prospective managers will be put off by the fact they won't be able to sign Ibrahimovic or Ozil.
  4. I thought he was too frugal. He made some good managerial appointments - Dave Jones, Hoddle (at the time) and WGS but when we needed to press on he, for some reason, took the cheap option with Wigley when he'd already decided he'd made a mistake with Sturrock. If we'd appointed a half decent manager and spent a bit of cash on a centre back we I don't think we would have got relegated. He later compounded these mistakes with his ludicrous attempts to play the saviour when he ousted Crouch which may ultimately prove to have done more harm than we could have imagined at the time (I'm pretty confident we would have won the play-offs last season but the minus ten put paid to that and I'm pretty sure Crouch and Pearson would have kept us in the Championship without losing the support of the bank). So, overall, I think he was poop as he failed to capitalise on some relative success and then appeared to go mental towards the end causing all manner of damage.
  5. Thank you.
  6. It's funny becasue if Puncheon took that gold-plated chance at the start of the second half, after we carved them open yet again, then half of these threads wouldn't exist. Yet because a player made a mistake there is something inherently wrong with the character of the club apparently. ****ing babies.
  7. You = prat too, I think.
  8. Swap "Pardew" with "Cortese" and you might have a point.
  9. Legume casing.
  10. And that's a perfectly valid point of view IMO. I am not overly thrilled by the football league in general any more. I just try and enjoy the match if possible and have a laugh. But what I do understand is that no professional club can have a future if it doesn't aspire to grow in terms of football and business. All this nostalgiac nonsense is exactly that, nonsense. If you want to point the finger at someone, point at the regulators of the game for allowing such an uneven playing field - don't point at businessman just trying to do a decent job.
  11. "I promise, I will never die..."
  12. So it was "our club" during a ten year spell under public ownership but not before or since? So basically, it's the same old. All this "our club" nonsense is ******** anyway. If people yearn for that, go and stick a pound in Salisbury's bucket and watch them or something. We aspire to top level professionalism round here. If you don't like it, see you later.
  13. Which country are you referring to? Not many of us live in Scotland. There are lots of foreign countries with strange laws TBF.
  14. How bourgeois. You should stand shoulder-to-shoulder with your opressed brothers.
  15. FFS, we don't need another left-back. FFS, the man's mental. He obvioulsy has no respect for history. FFS, I've long supported the cause of press freedom and the rights of the free-lance photogrpaher. I don't like paying for stuff either. ARRRGHH FFSFSFSFSFSF.
  16. O'Grady was good.
  17. The post I said was silly was the one in which you said we would have beaten Swindon and Rochdale if Pardew was in charge. Seeing as yesterday was a carbon copy of the two home league games we had under Pardew I pointed out that was a silly observation. It was also silly because: a) it was worded in the absolute - as Deppo has explained to you that makes it virtually meaningless as a valid viewpoint as it just ignores the vicissitudes of reality; and b) the reason we didn't win yesterday was because people on our team missed easy chances. It doesn't matter who the manager is if players blaze easy chances from five yards over the bar.
  18. Connolly played pretty well IMO. When he plays we play nicer football as he demands it to feet. Unfortunately he looked a bit rusty in front of goal. Yesterday was so frustrating; so many "nearlys" - we actually played fine.
  19. It was clear Cortese picked the team yesterday. After all, Martin didn't get a look-in and Gully started.
  20. Jon Parkin?
  21. Utterly clueless.
  22. Nonsense. We dominated from the off and but for poor finishing would have won handsomely. Feel quite sire for Wilkins. It's not his fault of someone blazes over from 5 yards.
  23. Don't worry. The fact finding mission to Barcelona will keep the idiots occupied for a couple of weeks.
  24. Calm down dearie, we'll get you a fresh rusk.
  25. Possibly the silliest post on here for sometime.
