  1. I used to make that trip regularly and you went via Birmingham New Street or Derby. Have you tried going on to the National Rail website and putting "Southampton" in the "from" box and "Nottingham" in the "destination" box?
  2. I also think giving people a tax break for getting married is mental! Mind you, how much does a Register Office cost nowadays anyway...?
  3. How's about: Punch----Hammond----Guly----Lallana --------------Oxo-------------------- ------------Lambert---------------- Allows the pace of Oxo to be used directly against their CBs and doesn't require shifting Lallana or Puncheon around. Whilst I've no doubt Lallana could play in the hole effectively I wouldn't want to swap positions around any more than necessary. From the little I've seen of Guly, I think he is physical enough to play in CM with Hammond. If MS was around I'd play Guly in the hole as a swap for Barnard and leave everything else unchanged. We could do that, with Chaplow coming in for MS if his fitness is ok. I'm surprised at people saying Chaplow could play in the hole though. He's not that sort of player at all IMO.
  4. What sanctimonious garbage. I don't know Dune and he maybe a total kartoffelnkopf - dunno - but he starts plenty of threads which turn into good (if often a tad predictable) ones, particularly in The Lounge.
  5. I gave a bum some money "for a train" in Croatia. There were two reasons why I did this: 1) he only asked for about 10p; 2) his mates looked like they were going to stab or eat me.
  6. What makes you think this won't affect me? Simply, the idea of giving people a cash handout for having a kid is mental IMO. I would support some sort of credit system for children's essentials for poor people (clothes, food etc.). I am happy to help pay for that as, in the long run, it might help to stop those kids becoming scrotes. What I'm not happy to pay is a subsidy to people with plenty of disposable income, purely because they managed to procreate. The current plans introduce an anomaly, clearly. Hopefully, over time this can be resolved. There are loads of anomalies in the law, but better to do some good than none.
  7. TBF, I'm gutted. They have two cup finals this season and we probably won't have any They are leaving us for dust.
  8. Ossie, me old second-team fan, I suggest you go on a bit of a mission. Visit some forums, see how the best wind-up merchants operate, lie-in wait, bide your time. At the moment, we all love you. Thanks for the laughs.
  9. I've emailed the FA too. If I can play my part in the **** getting a three match ban then great!
  10. BSF is renowned, even in the PFI world, as being unduly cumbersome.
  11. Being a ****-pit is sometimes a quality to be commended in a bar. I quite agree. Unfortunately, not this one IMO. Incidentally, the stone that The White House in Washington DC is made from was quarried on the island of Brac, just off the coast of Split, Croatia. Split is also the home of the only ever Wimbledon wild-card winner, Goran Ivanicevic. No ****.
  12. It was indeed called Bar Centro and before that I think it was called something else... Polar? It tried to be a trendy bar but that never seemed to work for it, so it turned into a complete ****-pit. Which seems to work pretty well for it.
  13. Yeah, Gazza's a great example of someone who didn't let off-field issues hamper them in achieving their potential.
  14. In more ways than one.
  15. We will never "know".
  16. Not convinced Pardew's sacking was a bad thing in the long run!
  17. "It's cos of them ooman rights innit mush".
  18. It is indeed upsetting that a load of public money has been given away and that very little was demanded or achieved in return (see previous government for explanation).
  19. Eh?
  20. Presumably anyone to whom the answer "yes" applies who doesn't want to commit benefit fraud?
  21. Obviously he doesn't have time for the red tape and cost of establishing a system that regulates the benefit in a more complicated way. This will apparently save £1bn each year and is quick and easy to implement and isn't going to push anyone into poverty IMO. A sensible way of trying to balance the ridiculous balance sheet he inherited. Over time, once the absurd finances have been put back on an even keel then maybe the rules can be adjusted to take account of that anomoly.
  22. He wasn't very good on Saturday - it was the worst performance I've seen from him, I think. That said, he showed bottle, nerve and skill with the two penalties. No point dropping him IMO. We are good enough to carry him through a period of bad form; it'll be worth it when he starts firing again.
