The non-Marcus Tribute thread for thrashing out stuff
benjii replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Are you talking about Chris Nicholl? -
Quality, forgot about this. I'm out tomorrow night so will keep an eye out for ****ed up rat.

14.5k is an ok number of home fans for a bottom-half division 2/top half division 3 team on a Sat 3pm untelevised match. Basically, they punched their weight on attendance as we all know that the club is a bottom-half division 2/top half division 3 team. Funny that the mighty Hull got more. I can't imagine Swansea took more fans than Reading did? Redkeith - re your post about transfer regulation: I'm pretty sure FIFA are bringing in a new system although it might not be public knowledge yet. If you do a bit of digging (I can't be bothered!) you might be able to find something.

Not remotely concerned.

You're not cheats because you haven't settled your debts in full, idiot, you're cheats because you: a) continued to increase your debts when already manifestly insolvent; b) lied to the authorities; c) used an unregistered agent; d) spent a hand-out (ludicrously given to you in contravention of the rules and yet still some of you morons think you were hard done by by the Premier League) on more players in January when manifestly insolvent; e) spent years racking up costs that you never, ever, in a million years had any prospect of ever being able to service; f) managed to become insolvent when in the Premier League - when you have an ex gratia guaranteed income of tens of millions for doing absolutely nothing!; g) had an owner that doesn't exist; h) are alleged to have engaged in tax evasion over player transfers. And if you think we're all now sheepishly going away with our tail between our legs you still haven't grapsed the reality of what's ahead of you. It will be funny.

Every debate on private education in this country descends into absurd mypoic proselytising by those who espouse egalitarianism without neither the ability to see its manifest injustice, nor the conviction to be anything other than a crass hypocrite. That, and the fact I am no longer a full member, is why this shall be my sole contribution to the matter. Toodle-pip.

That's a normal bathtime round my way.

Jesus christ.

TBF there are plenty of sportsmen who earn more than that. He is however, not that good.
-
So Scudamore has gone on the record to say he was lied to by the club, in order to secure extra payments presumably. And the Skates wonder why we call them cheats?
-
Legends since I started going to matches (89/90) are LeTiss and Liebherr. That's it. Nearly legends are Dodd and Franny. That's it.

We're much bigger than Leicester! Prob Sheffield Wed too.

The German version of the Mali statement says, I believe, that he died in the night of Monday evening/Tuesday morning. So the first anyone at Saints would have known for sure would have been later on Tuesday. When I watched the Bournemouth highlights for the first time yesterday, I did choke up a bit... this is certainly the saddest I've ever been following a death outside the family.

Cortese never said he wanted a "Director of Football" IIRC. He said he wanted a "Sporting Director". I reckon this tends towards the Les Reed role more than the traditional, "some crusty old ex-manager sticking his oar in" role.

He has shown himself to be an utter utter unpleasant idiot of the highest order. He should be banned immediately. ****

Right, but you're not the one preparing for Saturday's match are you? As Stu Phillips Romsey Benson Saint Dave has said, if the club feel it is the right thing to do then it is the right thing to do. Stop being so selfish.

A statue and a stand IMO. And while we're at it, let's get rid of "Northam", "Itchen" etc and have a "Bates" and "Le Tissier" stand too. Most of all, I wanted a passionate, united fanbase roaring us to promotion. I'm ****ing gutted. Let's make his dream a reality.

Wow, what an amazing picture. That's put a smile on my face and a tear in my eye at the same time! As always in these sad situations, one's first thoughts are those of sympathy to the people most deeply affected. Next are the thoughts of regret that Markus didn't get to see his ambitions realised in full but thankfulness that he was able to give us, and more importantly that Saints were able to give him, a cup win at Wembley. I only hope that Saints can continue to give the same pleasure and pride to his family as they clearly did to him. As far as I'm concerned, there are only a very select few people who you could call Saints legends. I'm too young to remember Ted Bates in his pomp or to have seen Lawrie Mac's cup winning team or team of the early 80s but those two, along with Matty were my three legends. There are four now. Thanks for everything Herr Liebherr. We can never truly repay you now but I know I will be roaring the team on with more passion than usual the next time I'm at SMS. And I'll have a lump in my throat. Thank you.

Any adult who likes Dr Who has some problems IMO.

Just watched the highlights for the first time - we looked class. Love the kit too. Unlucky Saints.
-
Why do you need to watch them to form a very strong opinion about them?
-
+3.

You have to at the Bournemouth fans a bit. They will turn up, 3,000+ (fair play) all excited about their big cup derby in our impressive stadium, to find a ground about one-third full with the vast majority of those being blanket and flask Itchen/Kingslanders, a few spotty oiks to their right to make up the atmosphere and, hopefully, a largely second-string Saints team on the pitch. Bournemouth.... derby? .... Don't think so! With any luck someone will have a big "Welcome to the Cherries, our friendly second club" banner or something.

What a thoroughly embarrasing and pathetic first post. It does act, however, as a tidy little illustration of why I have not renewed my membership of this forum.
