As we are now stinking rich we are in the enviable position of being able to do so. However, all recognise that if Mr Liebherr wants to pursue the best commercial option that is perfectly reasonable. The corrollary of this realisation is that people are suggesting brands they find aesthetically, sentimentally or humourously pleasing.

We are more Man City than Man Utd. Far more. Man Utd are massivley in debt to their owners and banks. Man City and Saints have money pumped into them for free by their owners. Not that it's particularly relevant, but there you go. As for shirt sponsorship; the revenue raised whilst in League One would be fairly small. In fact the revenue raised by any team other than the global giants is probably pretty small. I wonder how much Sunderland got for Boyle Sports? I wonder who Burnley's sponsor is? I wonder who Wolves' sponsor is? In fact, I haven't got a clue who most team's sponsor is. If Liebherr wants to do something different (ie no sponsor, his family, his own business or something for the arbitrary anniversary) then it will not have any lasting long-term impact for the club. At the end of the day, the only reason anyone cares is becuase they want their overpriced piece of tat to look a bit better as it hugs their gut.

I agree. A wonderful community initiative would be for Saints to regularly inspect the school reports of the local children and reward the better ones. Perhaps they could get a season ticket for life or some such equivalent?

Let's face it, cabin crew are basically a hybrid between shop assistants, cinema staff and waiters. It is a job that anyone without some limiting condition could do easily. It should command a salary of about £15-18k with a few extra perks like a nice hotel now and then and a **** up somewhere a bit naff.
