Our attacking set plays have looked pretty good in the last couple of games.

Only seen him against Brentford... He is certainly an improvement on Wotton in pretty much every area (mobility, tackling, positioning, passing) but he didn't exactly look like a class player. His passing was sometimes a bit rushed and I would like to think it wasn't one of his better performances. It was his first game with new team mates and I'm sure that element will improve, as will his attacking contribution as he develops an understanding with James. Definitely a positive signing and the sort of player we needed. If he brings the best out of James and/or Schneiderlin then that will be excellent news for us. I think we just need an out-and-out wide player to finish the midfield off now.

Just watched the highlights. Firstly, Saga's goal didn't look offside (although granted, the angle was not ideal). Secondly, both penalties looked like fair decisions. Thirdly, the ref was ****ting himself at the end of the match. Shame they didn't show the one-on-one which the ref pulled back.

Has he renounced diving?

I'm pretty sure they "focus on" our performance in training. I don't think AP sits the players down and delivers a lecture on referees' shortcomings. I don't think he is "focuss[ed] on" the referee purely by dint of having made a couple of comments. I think you'll find the reporter may have asked him about the ref. Something the reporter is unlikely to have done if we'd just won 3-0. Nothing to see here, move on please.

It's almost certainly true. I don't think anyone seriously believes Fahim paid off the bank debts do they? He either refinanced with borrowings from elsewhere or he renegotiated terms with the existing lenders. Either way Pompey are geared to buggery and have minimal income and cash reserves. I think if he had cleared the debts and reduced their gearing we would have heard about it by now from the horses' mouth! The lack of official comments (ie Fahim, PFC) on the detail of the deal speak more than any blog or media speculation.

**** off pony boy. We won the League 50 years ago and it's the holiday season plus it's like £40 or something and there's a recession y'know. We're massive and if we were in League One we'd get more than you because our attendances would actually go up because evryone knows it would be cheaper, that's why we need a 100,000 mega-ground. etc.....

So, let me get this right.... Instead of discussing why things didn't quite go to plan with reference to what actually happened during the match, Pardew should instead have said the mind-spazzingly boring and mundane, "If we'd played better and scored more goals we would have won" ?? Mental. Quite mental.

Rock bottom. Oh dear.

Nugent just missed a sitter. Lol.

I don't think he can afford one of their "posh" seats.

Decided to watch the second half in the hope of a goal from Bridgey! You're right, there's loads!

The notion of Notts, Leicester and Derby all being host cities seems a bit far fetched. Not just because two of them are utter **** holes, but also their proximity.

I agree with your need for patience. Not sure I agree with that statement though, unless you mean squad in its widest sense (ie all the youth players with a squad number). All of our starting 11 our League One standard at the moment and quite a few would be capable of playing in the Championship (Trottman, Harding, Murty, Davis, Lambert for sure IMO). The problem goes deeper than just the 11 players on the pitch and includes the lack of infrastructure behind the scenes. That said we are making progress and with the players we have we should start winning games soon. From what I've seen of the opposition thus far we are definitely good enough to string a winning streak together.

Bizzle, stop embarrassing yourself.

BBC has Citeh's possession as 60%. Hopefully they can turn this into a rout in the second half. Pompey could have done with James in goal today.
-
And, oh look... what's this? A goal for Adebayor!
-
Not sure why you keep saying their departed players are no good in a relegation scrap - they did pretty well for them last season. Replacing good players with average and poor ones will not help you, relegation scrap or not. Looks like D James is off too. They may stay up but I think they have to be one of the favourites to go down. It is evident that the plan is to muddle through this season - a very dangerous strategy.

The club now has no debts because Liebherr paid them off through reaching an agreement with the creditors. Had he not reached an agreement the club would have been wound up. The debts did not disappear because we went into admin. You are wrong.
-
Oh dear. Good job you're not doing a law/business/finance degree or that 99% average would be looking vulnerable.

No, benjii he's not, Begovic is.

Is Niemi playing?

I think we will definitely sign another central defender or right back, whether on loan or otherwise. It seems Pards has decided to forget about Lloyd James at right back. Thomas and Murty are fine but if Murty's injury is a long one we are left short at centre back again if anything happens to Trotters or Perry. I would imagine a pacy player or two are on the shopping list, whether a winger or a central forward (hopefully both). I'm confident we'll strengthen.

I think you'll find they are trying to undo the damage done by Lowe. Clearly, given the damage wrought was so terminal, this will take some time. Well done for finding a contrary Lowe related angle though. Give yourself a little star or a ****.

One of the funniest things I've ever read. I wonder if the Prem League should consider some retrospective sanctions given that the dirty little club was clearly controlled by Arkady "clean money" Gaydamak?
