  1. PL: Saints 8 Sunderland 0 4th division: Bury 3 DFCSBs 0 [video=youtube;QYEC4TZsy-Y]
  2. Can a moderator get an infraction? Just curious ...
  3. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/9519649/uefa-president-michel-platini-makes-white-card-and-sin-bin-proposal Platini's proposals: 1. The creation of a white card which would be followed by a temporary expulsion - a rest - of 10 minutes on the bench. 2. Five substitutions allowed: two changes at half-time, keeping the possibility of three changes during the course of the game. 3. Abolishment of the current rules that mean a player denying an opponent a clear goalscoring opportunity by committing a foul in the penalty area is typically punished threefold - with a penalty, red card and suspension. Instead: penalty and yellow card if the foul is committed in the penalty area; sending-off and free-kick if the foul is committed outside the penalty area. Actually not completely bad ideas from the old bastard. I do think no. 3 in particular is fairer than what we have now. No. 1 I'm not sure about, and no. 2 I'd replace with 3 outfield subs allowed + one during half time, and in addition 1 goalkeeping sub allowed (at any time).
  4. RB's going to have a field day with that one, methinks.
  5. Hopefully by page 2000.
  6. Don't forget that this US nurse was working in the third world. Texas.
  7. Thanks FF (or can I call you Duncan?) For younger nutjobs born after page 1, Uncle Duncan is the legendary father of this epic thread. Hopefully he'll keep a close eye on things over the next few days as we hurtle towards the much-anticipated page 2000. Please be ready to make the 100,000th post Duncan.
  8. A substitute today for Stevenage, at age 55. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/11/dave-beasant-stevenage-substitute-age-55
  9. Isn't sound/video syncing a problem?
  10. Having said that, the whole idea for having overseas PL matches is bollocks. Maybe have some FA cup matches (between PL teams) instead.
  11. Well if it's a 39th game, why not let it be a final game "position" match: 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, etc. Potentially quite exciting matches at both the top and bottom.
  12. You don't have to be a top footballer to be a good manager. Many top managers were, at best, mediocre players. And as long as the muffins are well secured I don't see a problem with him being near our club.
  13. Backup front man and GK needed then.
  14. 1. Spurs played well, we were mediocre. 2. Who give a **** that Forster was a bit dodgy with a couple of crosses today? It didn't cost us a goal, and we still have the best defensive record in the league. 3. Why the complaints about big Vic's substitution? At that stage we were desperate for a goal, and shortly afterwards his replacement Long was very much involved in setting up that sitter for Mane (who duly missed). 4. Will RK keep his word and not make shit when we lose?
  15. Agent Connolly = legend. It's bloody annoying, isn't it? I've been trying for years to find a way around that shit*. * That word has just been uncensored now that Ronald uses it in pre-match interviews.
  16. Always said Nigel Pearson is a good manager.
  17. "We don't make shit when we lose." Have to have that one in this thread.
  18. This. Plus make it a straight knockout (like domestic cups) from start to finish.
  19. I think it's more of big Vic playing so well.
  20. Rhetorical question, I assume.
  21. Beaten? Possibly. Comfortably? Doubtful. We have one of the best defensive midfields, playing in front of quality defenders and goalkeeper. Barring injuries and sendings off I can only see Citeh and Chelski being able to beat us comfortably.
  22. Ditto. Similarly when Pearson was given the boot and replaced by the two Dutch jokers. Thankfully, this time we have a Dutch genius and his brother.
