  1. Squad rotation? Davis is coming off an injury, so 2 matches in 3 days may be too much for him.
  2. tinpot (ˈtɪnˌpɒt) adj (prenominal) 1. inferior, cheap, or worthless 2. paltry; unimportant superlative adjective: tinpottest (e.g. "Portsmouth FC are the tinpottest club in England")
  3. I find that a bit hard to believe. Only a complete and utter moron would think we are in danger of relegation.
  4. Lawro's in there somewhere.
  5. 9 minutes of Brenda time for Skrtel's injury, and guess who scores the equaliser? Oh the ironing.
  6. In terms of support they are a big, big club. Given that, yes they are massive underachievers.
  7. True, but Turdish never lets us down.
  8. With Fonte out the back 4 pick themselves. With Morgan and Big Vic back I'd keep Reed in, and rest Davis for the Chelski match, especially as he has just come back from injury. Worried a full match for Long and Pelle would leave both knackered for Chelski: it would be nice to be able to pull one or both off after about 60 minutes.
  9. After our 5 successive defeats, Liverhampton (and Spurs) into the semi finals, and remembering what we paid for Osvaldo, Gaston, Mayuka, Long and Mane, my smugness is beginning to wear off.
  10. “That’s something we can all be proud of. It’s not what Manchester City or Arsenal have – but it’s ours.” Strange, no mention of this.
  11. For once I agree.
  12. So if we get rid of Osvaldo, Gaston, Mane, Mayuka, and get just a few million for them, and maybe keep Long, we've basically swapped the 3 L's for 1 L. Maybe we shouldn't be laughing too much at Brenda.
  13. Maybe if we can sell them (ok, maybe keep Long) we could recoup this?
  14. How much did we spend in total on Osvaldo, Gaston, Mane, Mayuka and Long?
  15. No point in flogging a dead horse. Might as well go straight to telling him he's gone at the end of the season. I wouldn't risk injury/suspension to Big Vic, Morgan and Toby. Also rest Bertrand, since Targettttt has played well so far as his stand in. Apart from that, the strongest team/bench as possible.
  16. It's amazing the difference one world class player makes. Not just their own contributions, it raises the whole team. Worth their weight in gold. That reminds me, we need to get in a quality striker this January.
  17. The only time I don't mind Mayuka coming on is if we're winning 8-0.

    He's only 30. Half a season loan isn't much of a gamble.

Torres knows where the back of the net is, and doesn't headbutt teammates (as far as I know). I would love it, love it, if we could sign him up for half a season. Wages? Pay him the same as our highest earners, plus a one-time "signing up" payment. Despite our recent slump, 4th isn't impossible, and this could make the difference.

We need to buy a decent striker in the January window.
  21. Yes indeed. Immediately after Shearer made his debut for England I recall Br*****t doing his best to cash in on him, and saying (I paraphrase) "Now he's an England international I'm sure he'll want to move to a bigger club." C**t. (Br*****t, not Shearer).
  22. And who said this thread has run its course? I think this thread will last at least as long as Tesco does. BTW, I see the PTS page-year of birth posts are drying up. Surely there are still some young nutjobs able to post these? Mind you, they'd be born the year this thread started.
  23. Contains my favourite MLT goal of all time. Shame it was a consolation goal.
