"As a manager you sometimes think of winning the next game and needing money for a player, and you forget about the heart and soul of the club. If we get the structure right then there'll be a production line for many years to come of players playing the Southampton way, which will be financially right for this club. Whether I am still the manager at that time is another question, but you've got to think above that." Seems like he's saying that a manager should think about long term future of the club, possibly beyond his tenure. Doesn't seem that sinister to me. Having said that, if we do a QPR and only survive by our fingernails, or worse, I think the axe will fall.

It appears he's calling Chinny's bluff. TBH appears to be the only one to realise Chinny isn't going to walk away from the parachute payments, especially as he (TBH) is the last of the magnificent 8 standing. Or maybe it's just because TBH has more to lose than the 6 mugs who compromised. Let's see who cracks first in this Mexican standoff. Of course, if holds out, he is going to incur the wrath of the phew, as Trevor whips up their hatred toward him to a total frenzy. But I have a feeling he can handle that. For a few million pounds I think I could too.

Automatic relegation, but to avoid the team not putting in 100% each game, have the proviso that if they finish in the relegation spot anyway, they go down two divisions. Simples. That's right, Brian. String Voldemort along for as long as possible, and then bail out at the very last moment. Handy Andy is now his "agent", and I hear police are still investigating the disappearance of his former agent, Pini Zahavi. Finally, I'd like to dedicate this mug (see what I did there) to each of the players who have reached "compromises" with Trevor/Chinny.
-
Not likely, I'm afraid. Handy Andy and some of his friends paid him a visit last night, and I hear he is now very close to agreeing to a "compromise".

To play Devil's advocate, that's precisely what W.e're B.ottom A.gain did for years. Having said that, there's no way NC will settle for that.

Current Nutjob rankings. Only 81 more posts to go, and trousers hits the incredible 3000 mark (albeit including a few dodgy "..." s). Past what? Being rubbish?

They may not have wanted us liquidated, but they did not show very much concern. If Markus and Nicola hadn't saved us, what would have happened? I don't think anyone can prove that we wouldn't have gone under. Especially as we tried to play by the rules, unlike the DFCSBs.
-
Well, they didn't seem too concerned about us going under as a result of being about £5 over our overdraft limit. But then again, Lord MawBastard isn't in charge anymore. More's the pity.

"A BREATHTAKING new era for Pompey is unveiled as club bosses reveal their £600m plans to build a sensational stadium on Portsmouth waterfront." But, in fairness, one prediction may come true: "Bulldozing Fratton Park and building hundreds of new homes and flats."
-
So 5 of the magnificent 8 have walked away from "substantial" sums. I have heard that 5 mutilated bodies of horses have been discovered in hampshire, with their heads missing. A coincidence, I'm sure. So now it's up to Lawrence, Kitson and TBH to hold the fort. And the latter now has Comical Andy as his agent.

Mr Birch, who was appointed Pompey joint-administrator on February 17, warned this week the club will be forced to close on August 10 unless the high earners come to a payment compromise or leave the club. He told The News: ‘Hopefully we will get two or three more players out in the next 48 hours and get it down to the two or three others, then we might just get over the line.’ Ok, magnificent 7 (or is it 6 now)? Which three of you are willing to give up a sizeable part of your past and future salary, so that the other three (and Chinny of course) can receive their full whack?

Legend. That's why we built a statue in his honour.

A revolutionary coaching set up.

This. Top post, hole.

Ah, first 6 overs, I misheard the commentator. Thanks for the pedantic clarification.
-
Interesting ending. Last ball left of the innings, scores tied, Hants 178/6, Notts 178/7. Even if they had lost a wicket on the last ball, Hants would have won by the runs scored in the last 6 overs. So why did they bowl the last ball? Game was already over. First time in history a match continued after the game was already won?

That'll be about 8 pages a day. We'll have to get our skates on.

A bit optimistic there, K?

How many nutjobs are there here? At least 700, surely. A quid each?
-
That indeed is the £14 million question. I would have thought the FL would have let the magnificent 7's agents know, one way or the other. But maybe the FL can't make their minds up, and are enjoying the soap opera unfold. I know we nutjobs certainly are.

"If the new owner does not take over the liabilities and guarantee £10 million of football creditors then the Football League will not transfer its share and the club will go under. To save the club we are frantically trying to negotiate with players such as Kanu and Tal Haim. We have offered Tal Haim a substantial compromise which he has turned down, so it is difficult to negotiate. "Perhaps he is playing a game of bluff. Perhaps he thinks we are bluffing that the new owner will save the club and still pay him or accept his liabilities going forward." I don't think so, Trevor. I'm sure TBH (legend!) knows you are not bluffing that Chinny won't save the club and also pay him, or any of the other magnificent 7 (....Varney you fool). Unfortunately (for you and Chinny, anyway) he also knows that when the cesspit is liquidated there's a very good chance he'll get most of what he's owed back from the parachute payments. Nice try though!
