If it goes to penalties both FF and WC have pretty good records.

What about a great cup run, beating Liverpool twice in the semis, playing brilliantly in the final and being very unlucky to lose?

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Dark Munster replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Hopefully Newcastle (H) will be up soon to boost the points total. -
Sigh. This was the attitude of most smokers a few decades ago, smoke wherever we want, it's our freedom dammit. For the umpteenth time, anti-vaxxers affect everyone: they are prolonging the pandemic, increasing the spread to others, are petri dishes for mutations, and are responsible for overflowing hospitals (affecting not only burnt-out doctors and nurses, but also hogging beds that then become unavailable for those non-Covid patients in desperate need). And for the umpteenth time, Covid is not a minor threat. Not just the millions who have died, but just as worse are the hundreds of millions suffering from long covid and God know's what long term organ/brain damage. Omicron may not be as bad as delta, but an upcoming epsi-fucking-lon may well be worse.

Sorry, I came to the wrong place. I thought this was the Ankersen thread. P.S. Thanks to Turkish for pointing out what Puel achieved with a squad decimated from the one prior. But for the anti-Puel mob it's like convincing anti-vaxxers to get the jab.

1976 Villa 1 Saints 2 (Replay). Surely no competition?

2002/03: West Ham 42 Always good for a laugh. 😀

A couple of posters mentioned Chelsea, but we've done really well with transfers with them over the decades (with 2 notable Br*nf**t exceptions!), so I certainly have no ill feelings toward them (despite their dodgy owner). The opposite is true of the despicable North London yobbos Spurs (Levy, Chivers, Saul, Fourpast, Bale, Poch, etc. etc.), and I always want them to lose against any of the other 18 teams.

Given Romeu's much more dubious disallowed goal due to goalie infringement, I would've been very pissed off it it had been given. On the other hand I wouldn't have any complaints if Kane's goal had been ruled onside. Yes I know Ings and Adams have had similar ones chalked off for us, but the drawn lines are supposed to be thicker now.

Vaccinated players are less likely to get infected with omicron and delta, and less likely to get sick if they do. There's no excuse for anything less than a 100% vaccination rate among professional footballers.
-
Oops, I've been whooshed!
-
It's not a Macca vs FF thing. We were playing with 10 men and hanging on for a draw, so it is reasonable to surmise that FF was deliberately punting it out of playing in the other half for throw ins to slow things down. If it were 11 vs 11 and we were going for an equaliser/winner then yes, it would be clearly a case of crap kicks, and I doubt anyone would be defending him.
-
Required vaccinations is not unreasonable. They're professional athletes, who already have work requirements that the rest of us don't (keeping fit, not eating junk, limited alcohol, no smoking, etc.) MLT excepted of course.
-
Depends. If their list of ineligible includes unvaccinated and suspensions, then I say fuck them.
-
I only saw it on my stream. Given that they are using thicker lines now I was surprised it was offside. Not that I'm complaining of course!

Doesn't matter if it's deliberate or accidental. He collided with FF who had his hands on the ball. No goal according to the rules.
-
This. I'm surprised so many here are slagging FF for it and saying it wasn't a foul and he was lucky to have it disallowed. He dropped the ball after their player clattered into him FFS. On the other hand, Kane's goal looked onside to me.
-
Yes, FF dropped the ball after their player collided with him. In that situation the benefit of the doubt is always given to the goalie, accidental or not. For example, Romeu had a goal disallowed for a far more minor goalkeeper infringement (can't remember which match). On the other hand Kane's goal looked onside to me. That's the one Spurs should be complaining about.
-
Saints are good at proving that. Nicholl -> Br*nf**t, Luggy -> Wigley, Pearson -> 2 Dutch Jokers, Puel -> The Clown.
-
Bednrek makes sense since the other 2 CBs are out with Covid. But yes, Walcott. FFS
-
To be fair we've been doing that pretty well throughout the pandemic.

Also, Ryan was a free agent so Leicester conned themselves.

I have mixed feelings about Bertie's failures with them. I'm glad he is on their payroll now, but having said that he was a great buy and servant for us, and left at the right time and on good terms.
