  1. Schmeichel apparently has developed a terrible attitude, so he wouldn't be the answer. Think we're stuck with Baz until January at least. In fairness, he's had one bad game this season so far, a couple of ok ones, and one good one (QPR). So definite signs of improvement - whether it's enough is another matter
  2. Interestingly article from the Echo showing every player we were linked with over the summer and what happened to them. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/23744134.every-player-linked-southampton-actual-transfer/ *Patiently awaits a smart arse to point out a player they've missed*
  3. His corners for us were continually ineffective. I don't think that can really be disputed. How much of that was due to him and how much due to our crap set-up can be debated. Given who West Ham have in their team it's not really surprising he's having better fortunes there (albeit 3 games is a bit early to making any conclusios). Personally I'm pleased it's going so well for him so far. We rarely played to his strengths, which given our lack to quality is nuts
  4. You need the list of transfers op! Here they are from Sky Sports Southampton In Shea Charles - Manchester City, £15m Josh McNamara - Manchester City, undisclosed Derrick Abu - Chelsea, free Ryan Manning - Swansea, free Zach Awe - Arsenal, free Joe Lumley - Middlesbrough, free Ryan Fraser - Newcastle, loan Mason Holgate - Everton, loan Flynn Downes - West Ham, loan Taylor Harwood-Bellis - Manchester City, loan Ross Stewart - Sunderland, £10m, rising to £12m Out James Ward-Prowse - West Ham, £30m Armel Bella-Kotchap - PSV, loan Kegs Chauke - Burton, undisclosed Ibrahima Diallo - Al-Duhail, undisclosed Dan Nlundulu - Bolton, undisclosed Mislav Orsic - Trabzonspor, undisclosed Mohamed Elyounoussi - Copenhagen, free Theo Walcott - Released Caleb Watts - Released Nico Lawrence - Colchester, loan Mateusz Lis - Goztepe, loan Willy Caballero - Retired Duje Caleta-Car - Lyon, loan Mohammed Salisu - Monaco, £17.2m Tino Livramento - Newcastle, £32m Romeo Lavia - Chelsea, £58m Sam Bellis - Barrow, free Ryan Finnigan - Shrewsbury, loan Dom Ballard - Reading, loan Armel Bella-Kotchap - PSV, loan I've gone for an 8. Ins are brilliant on paper, but we still have a bloated squad, and could have done with shipping another 3 or 4 out. Still with this squad we are more than strong enough for promotion, so we better achieve it!
  5. Personally if we think we can get Mara engaged I'd rather we keep him than get a replacement. He clearly has talent but big question marks over his commitment
  6. I wonder if Genk will still use proceeds from selling Pantsil to buy Tall Paul? Seems unlikely but might actually be the best outcome for us if Pantsil doesn't want to join
  7. I think we're all a bit burnt by VVD downing tools and sulking all those years ago. In reality most players don't act like that if they are refused a move and instead knuckle down and do their best. I hope we hold firm on Sulemana. Tell him to show his worth on the pitch and we'll review in January
  8. All out for 93, with Dawson taking 7 wickets for 15! Not sure he should be playing myself, but certainly beneficial he is

  10. Has this one been posted? I will be p*ssed I'd he goes on loan only. Better to keep him in that case

    Che Adams

Nice patronising response.... Pray tell how losing Adams now will help us if the replacement you reference is not yet ready to replace him. Surely in that case you should be advocating keeping him until Ballard is ready, not beforehand?
  12. I think there was a point earlier in the window when money was an worry for the club, hence why we all of a sudden accepted much lower offers for JWP & Tino than we originally demanded. I'd be amazed if it's still an issue now, but we can only speculate so it could be true
  13. Saints 1st game is currently live on the FA Player for anyone interested. Just taken a 2-1 lead away at Lewes, after going behind originally
  14. I watched the game with QPR commentary on and their commentator thought the ref was absolutely biased towards Saints. It was actually quite funny how apolectic he got at times. Having said that, when Fraser had his one on one well saved by the keeper, the ref blew the whistle to bring play all the way back to the half way line for a Saints free kick. We'd clearly had the advantage he originally gave us so he shouldn't have done that

    Che Adams

Calling Ballard an upgrade is ridiculous. He's barely played for the first team. We all hope he will be a great player but he isn't ready to be our main striker yet, hence why players like Mara are being put onto the pitch over him.
  16. It's surprising that a German team is prepared to pay so much for a player who hasn't performed in the PL. Assuming it's nudging £20m it'll be Leverkusen's third biggest transfer (figures on the below link are EUR) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bayer-04-leverkusen/transferrekorde/verein/15 Personnally think we should have kept him, but can't begrudge him the move. Hope it goes well for him
  17. Fcuking hell mate is that really the best you can come up with? Ah well, me and my man tits can't really be bothered to fling insults on the internet so I'll just wish you a pleasant day 😊
  18. Ah bless mate... I wasn't the one so triggered by the fact it had been reported in two different news stories that I had to complain to the internet about it.
  19. I found this quite surprising! We're having very high possession, but this illustrates we're not just passing around the back
  20. Some excellent news re England GK shirt - limited quantities but better than nothing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66607749
  21. This isn't Greenwood but were the allegations against Ronaldo widely known? I saw this for the 1st time today and apparently it was published years ago. I'm struggling to understand why it didn't get further media reporting as it seems damning https://m.allfootballapp.com/news/Serie-A/Ronaldo-admitted-rape-accuser-said-no-multiple-times-and-he-apologised-after-sex/894948
  22. They are quite right to keep "banging on" about it. Having the rights to produce England shirts is a prestigious contract, and no way should Nike be picking and choosing which shirts they reproduce for fans to buy. We have the no 1 rated keeper in the world and kids who idolise her cannot have a copy of her shirt. Your post reads more that you hate the BBC tbh. Nothing wrong with that, but this is an issue that should be highlighted
  23. Yes he absolutely should be denied a chance to continue his football career. Would you be saying the same if it was a teacher at your local school who had behaved like Greenwood and wanted to return to their teaching role? How about a politician or your GP? Footballers are in a privileged position whereby they earn a shitload of cash and are idolised by children. People who behave like Greenwood should lose that privilege and take up another career. The only mitigating factor for Greenwood is that he hasn't been convicted, but as has already been shown the reasons for that are more than a little suspect.
  24. Absolutely fcuking not
  25. Shame about the performance today, but Spain fully deserved it. We had a very kind run to the final & Spain were the only team of real note we had to play all tournament. If we had a fully fit team perhaps it would have been different, but a few teams could say that. If only the men's team had a defence of the equivalent quality of the women! We are so solid at the back and again only conceded a few goals all tournament. You can see why Earp's is considered the best GK in the world
