Oh, ok, I hadn't heard that. It wouldn't necessarily prevent a new chairman bringing in a new manager though would it, regardless of how recently the current one had been appointed? New broom, etc...

It wouldn't amaze me. Perhaps he's decided the club can't be taken any farther up the table into the hallowed lands of the CL, so there's no point continuing. Would also make sense if AC Milan really want him (+ probably MP.)

Me too, from Kingsland corner. Belting goal; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZKlAbyEXiY Pretty sure it was soon after that he injured his foot.

My thoughts precisely, especially as I bet none of them even speak English, so how are they supposed to sell tickets for us ???

The voice of reason from sammy. Well put, and pretty much exactly how I see this season.

Thats an old one Pap, why did you need a Leeds fan to tell you In fact, there was a thread on here ages ago about a spoof article. I think it was titled "Nigel Adkins: Nastiest manager in England", or somesuch, cant find it now, but one of the 'allegations' was that he was walking down the tunnel at Leeds with Warnock, who was visibly ill and fell to the ground. Nigel supposedly remarked "pick yourself up Colin, you're a f*cking mess." edit, just found the link- http://kdcallanan.tumblr.com/post/41897854243/nigel-adkins-englands-most-disrespectful-manager

You don't see the inherent humour in Dan's comment? Must be a barrel of laughs down at your pub.

He looks like he's just been contacted by Operation Yewtree.

The only problem is finding them. Why else would Citeh be offering megabucks for him? I'd be gutted if he left, more so than I was when Bale went (without the benefit of hindsight, obviously.)

I am that man, cant stand the stuff. Annoyingly, loads of people give it to us for Christmas; I dont like it, and the wife wont eat it in case slimming world find out and persecute her. So it gets binned by the truckload chez scotty. Maybe I could put it on ebake?
-
No, you're not. I'm hoping this speculation about him moving on already is the usual nonsense, because I think he's going to be a massive player for us.
-
No need for abuse, WG is probably right. And to those suggesting that AL comes out of it badly, who made the official complaint to the FA? It certainly wasn't Lallana. MP has already made the point that refs are treating us unfairly, even before the Lallana incident. Has it occurred to you that the abysmal non-handball decision in a crucial game might have sparked a bit of afters from the management?

Just what miltonroader found when he ran into Kelvin in Sainsburys....

Answering a question with a question. It doesnt matter what we think, and fwiw I'd love to see us win a cup. But ask wigan if they'd trade it for their prem place again, or, God forbid, ask the blue few if they'd rather be back in the top flight rather than have their name on the FA cup. But whatever any of us think or want, Saints wont field our "strongest" side against Burnley. If you dont like it, email Cortese.

Ok, here's a question. Apart from the semis or the final, which was the last premiership or championship side to field what would be considered a full-strength side in the league cup or FA cup? It just doesn't happen. The money is in the prem, and every position means more money. The cups are great for the fans, but they mean sweet fa to the people running the clubs. Still, I look forward to being proved wrong when we field our first 11 against Burnley.
