Julio Cesar: I want Money, Cortese: Up your Kazoo.

Off-topic, but whatever put Scott Carson into your mind? -
My thoughts exactly, never heard of it til now. Sounds like a sanitised version of mobog.

If they didn't rate him, they would have sold him rather than loaning him out. Again. There was an interesting thread on here a few weeks ago regarding loan players. The gist of it was that if a rich prem club feel that a player is surplus to requirements at the moment, they could gain more by loaning him to another club they don't feel threatened by, safe in the knowledge that he cant play against his parent club. The loan club will then potentially take more points from the parent club's actual rivals, without being strengthened by the loanee who cant play against them. I would say Lukaku is a prime example of this, Chelsea don't see him as a regular starter at the moment, but think he'll do more good for them helping another club take points from sides they otherwise wouldn't. And I'd also say that cost Steve Clarke his job.

+1, well said sir. -
There is literally nothing else on there at the moment. Whole front page is Mandela jokes, and the forum is getting blitzed too. Somebody must have seen this coming?

Sickipedia is going to need some more bandwidth.....

How should I know mate, I'm not putting that in my mouth. Which, incidentally, is a phrase my wife uses a lot.

I should point out that my mrs bought these in asda. A bit of subliminal desire there? hmmmm....

The confirmation we have all been waiting for.

Someone just posted this on sicki, and hey presto... a Saints reference, we have finally reached the big time!!!! (..and no, it wasn't me.) Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino told the press he couldn't say how long Arthur Boruc would be sidelined for. Probably because he can't speak f*cking English.

To be fair turks, Ive just read the thread, and its 10 minutes of my life that I wont get back. fwiw, I thought Osvaldo looked promising today, against a side who never seem to lose at home. He got about as much service as an ugly bird in an italian restaurant, so cant really blame him. He had a few nice touches, maybe should have done better with that second half chance, which for a moment I thought was looping in over Cech.

Southampton in talks with German international midfielder Aaron Hunt

Good spot, and Alan Nixon is usually reliable on transfer reports. Can only think this is a replacement for Gaston. -
It seemed pretty shocking at the time, tbf.

At the time, I thought getting him onboard was quite a shrewd move given his success with the rugby side. Its not his fault things went pear shaped here.

I visit my therapist every tuesday and thursday at 2:37pm to thank her for curing my OCD.

I wasn't criticising it Jimmy. And the other thing that occurred to me was that it smacked a little of Woodward's time here, all that sports science stuff.
-
Is all the OCD-type stuff down to Cortese? I'd have supposed Pochettino had some say in it. And oddly enough Bearsy, I didnt think the idea of shipping in custom-made mattresses and a team of cleaners was a bad one, although it does sound a bit weird. Remember the cricket a couple of years back, when the aussies had people driving past the England team hotel blowing their car horns in order to disrupt their sleep?

That's a very good point indeed, and reminds me of the recent debate on here about loan players. If Gaston does end up getting moved on, loan or sale, it'll be interesting to see whether it's to a PL rival or back to foreign pastures. fwiw, I hope he gets a bit longer to make his mark here as I still think he could be massive for us. As others have pointed out above, the clubs he has been linked with are all top european sides, and those mugs Uruguay keep picking him for their national side. Nobody has seriously suggested that he lacks talent, and I think it was Phil Neville who singled him out as the best player he'd faced in last year's prem season?
