Just got back from a job in Colden Common. On the way down Church Lane, where the roadworks are, my mate in the van saw a Saints flag in someones front garden............flying at half-mast. :scared: I realise it might well be Titanic-related, but ffs. Anyone else seen/heard/done/thought of anything that might be considered as an omen for the run-in?

Surely you watched it on the box tho?

I'm guessing its financial, but I always was a bit of a cynic.

My first ever visit to wembley. What a comeback, Matty with two great strikes to put us back in it and into extra time, shame we couldn't bury them. Good day out though.

If we dont go up this season from the position we're in now, we arent likely to go up next year. We will not get a better shot at it than this. We are being funded by owners and a chairman who have expressed an absolutely crystal clear desire to see us playing premier league football within 5 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed our rise through the lower leagues, and it would be great to see that season in and season out, but imho: no prem within the 5 year plan = looking for new owners.

WHU level with us by next weekend. :-(

We've been up top long enough to believe that we should be able to get the 2 wins and a draw that will see us promoted come what may. The thing worrying me is tuesday night; looking at the table, posh ought to be the first of those 2 wins, but, but, but....they are also the only side to turn over Reading in their last 16 games. I cant remember the last time this season when we havent been able to say "its in our hands". Lose on tuesday and it could be out of our hands. -
Just ask her wherever you reckon is appropriate jamie, maybe on the anniversary of your first date or something like that. I popped the question on my mrs's birthday and put the ring onto a gold necklace I had got her, that seemed to go down well. As for the "ask the father" thing, tbh I clean forgot that. Didnt seem to be an issue afterwards.

The Spoonful of Sugar for Last Nights Medicine

Lets just hope we're not "going to wemberlee" for the playoff final, eh? -
I thought it was Adkins who wanted him back. Certainly looked that way when he came off the pitch on his first game back, and according to Puncheon it was NC he fell out with.

Absolutely spot on, but with one tiny proviso; as has been pointed out previously, by then brum will likely be in the playoffs come what may. They will probably rest as many players as they can get away with, in preparation for the playoffs themselves. Coventry, on the other hand, will most likely be scrapping like hell for NPC survival, I'm not sure which I'd rather be playing tbh. -
Yep. and 12 on target compared to Readings 4. Theres a reason they've won 14 of their last 16.

Did the dog patrol manage to arrest them?

Thats ironic, given where you were headed for turks  .....as they say, you learn something new every day.......

Without trawling through the previous 6 pages, I suppose the refs already been mentioned, so I wont waste my breath. Appalling.

I dont ever remember us playing so well and losing. Think the bbc summary says it all. Fair play to reading, they came with an ali/foreman game plan and it worked. Think of it as karma, maybe it was payback for mugging leeds......

We ought to start a new thread for this, talk about off-topic...

Yes, its pretty much sold out. As for your second point, why not? Might as well argue about something

Turks is correct, technically it is a derby. However, as I dont care at all about reading, bournemouth or brighton beyond the number of points we rack up against them, its reasonable to suggest that it doesn't constitute a "derby" in the commonly understood use of the phrase. Could I suggest that jamies idea about hostility towards a local rival be used as a yardstick? If anything other than the points gained or dropped means anything to us, we could classify it as a derby. I reckon myself that a derby game requires some level of animosity between the fans involved, and personally I couldnt give a flying f*ck about reading either way, their just 11 men standing between us, 3 points, and promotion.

None of the current squad were directly involved in Hillsborough, so they shouldn't be too upset to play. If the fans wish to stay at home in quiet reminiscence, theres nothing stopping them. As alpine correctly points out, man u dont think twice about playing on the anniversary of munich, why do the scousers make such a big deal about it? ......oh. Might have to edit this.
-
Arguably, thats the definition of it. I don't view any match other than the skates as being a derby.
-
lol, thats an interesting perspective. I note that one fan has us winning 3 - 1, with Guly scoring. I'm not sure NA will start him myself, Chappers did well on monday and he's the sort of terrier we need for this one.

Such nonsense. It was a tragedy, but it wasn't the only tragedy in the history of this nation. I really don't like alan davies at all, (see http://www.c*ntscorner.com/c*nt_view.php?c*nt_id=8718), if you can be arsed to look replace the * with u, but in this instance I have to agree with him. Possibly not as diplomatic as he could have been though, I'll grant you that.

Win, lose or draw; none of those results would surprise me at all. If I had to put money on it, which isnt something I often do, it would be on a very hard fought score draw. Too close to call imho, more so when you look at reading's last dozen results. Think the only defeat was at posh, and they are always a bit of a wild card game, other than that they have had solid wins home and away. We'll have to be at the top of our game to walk away with 3 points.

Tuesday's matches, inc. Brighton v Reading (1945 KO)
scotty replied to Crazy Diamond's topic in The Saints
I think he still works here in the youth setup. Not sure, tbh.
